Apropos to the misleading news item published on the 16th November, 2025 edition of the Sangai Express which reads “Kuki-Zo MLAs decide to join popular Ministry” creating unnecessary public confusion, the following clarification is hereby circulated to clear the doubts and apprehensions:
-
At the Guwahati Enclave, there was a discussion on popular ministry in Manipur. However, no decision was taken by the Kuki-Zo MLAs to join the formation as alleged. Moreover, some Kuki-Zo MLAs were not present at the meeting.
-
In fact, there was a threadbare discussion on Separate Administration for the Kuki-Zo community focussing upon the gravity of the prevalent situation and circumstances.
Hence, the public is appealed not to get carried away by such misleading rumours. And the Sangai Express is advised to restrain itself from publishing unfounded and unverified news items in future to maintain its credential and reputation as an esteemed Daily.
