The official Thadou website, www.thadou.com, was formally launched on January 22, 2026, at Hotel Imphal, Manipur. The website was inaugurated by Pu M. James Thadou, President of Thadou Inpi Manipur, the apex representative body of the Thadou tribe in Manipur.
The launch ceremony was attended by prominent leaders and members of the Thadou community, both in person and virtually, reflecting a collective commitment to safeguarding and asserting the distinct identity of the Thadou people.
Representatives from major civil society organisations of Manipur—including COCOMI, AMUCO, Arambai Tenggol (AT), and FOCS—were present, demonstrating broad-based civil society engagement and solidarity.
The newly launched website serves as an authoritative digital platform for the Thadou people in Manipur and across the globe. It aims to strengthen community connection, promote knowledge-sharing, and provide factual and authentic narratives on the history, culture, and distinct identity of the Thadou people, along with verified news, updates, and information. The platform will be continuously expanded and enriched.
A key feature of the website is its online Thadou tribe membership registration, designed to strengthen organisational unity, enhance participation, and reinforce collective representation.
Following the launch, an hours-long interactive discussion was held on the vision of Manipur as a united, inclusive, and multi-ethnic society. The discussion underscored the urgent need to correct ethnic misidentification and ensure accurate recognition of all indigenous communities of Manipur, including the Thadou people, who have often been misidentified due to ignorance, coercion, and political and historical distortion.
Participants noted that www.thadou.com will play a vital role in restoring community ownership, dignity, and pride, empowering the Thadou people to assert control over their identity and affairs, free from external influence or political agendas that undermine their distinct existence.
During the event, the contributions of Thadou Inpi Manipur and the Thadou community toward peace-building, social harmony, and the territorial integrity of Manipur were acknowledged and appreciated by participating civil society organisations.
The launch of www.thadou.com marks a significant step toward empowering the Thadou community, safeguarding its identity, and promoting truth, unity, and peaceful coexistence in Manipur.
Thadou Inpi Manipur calls upon members of the Thadou community to visit and contribute to the website, and appeals to the media and the people of Manipur to support the Thadou community's legitimate efforts to reclaim and assert its rightful identity in the larger interest of justice and social harmony.
