KSO Sangaikot Demands Release of Abducted Villager

Lamka, June 19, 2026: The Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Sangaikot Block, has strongly condemned the alleged abduction of a villager from T. Lamlai village in Churachandpur district and demanded his immediate and unconditional release.

In a press statement issued on June 19, KSO Sangaikot Block stated that Mr. Letkhojang, son of Mr. Jamkholam and Mrs. Nemlhing, was allegedly taken away by unidentified men at around 3:00 a.m. on June 19, 2026. The organisation claimed that the men were dressed in khaki uniforms, spoke Hindi and English, and carried out the abduction in the presence of the victim's family members.

Describing the incident as an act of terror and intimidation against innocent civilians, KSO said such actions were unacceptable and called on those responsible to identify themselves and clarify the circumstances surrounding the alleged abduction.

The organisation has issued a 12-hour ultimatum to the responsible party—whether an insurgent group, government agency, or any other entity—to ensure the safe release of Letkhojang within 24 hours.

KSO further warned that failure to comply could compel Kuki Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and the public to launch appropriate forms of agitation. It also urged the authorities to act swiftly while appealing to the public not to spread unverified information.
