Lamka, July 14, 2026: Manipur Police recovered a cache of arms, ammunition, explosives and military equipment from the forest area of Gothol village under Churachandpur Police Station in Churachandpur district during a search operation on Tuesday.
According to the police, the recovered items included one INSAS rifle with a magazine, one locally made single-barrel firearm, five locally made hand grenades, 25 empty cartridge cases, nine live rounds of ammunition, one binocular, two 9 mm magazines, three Baofeng hand-held communication sets, and military gear including chest pouches and helmets.
The recovery forms part of the ongoing security operations aimed at recovering illegal arms and maintaining peace and security in the region.
Authorities have reiterated their appeal for the surrender of illegal weapons under the #DisarmForPeace initiative.
