Chümoukedima, July 15, 2026: The Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) has announced that it will organise a peaceful protest rally on 17 July 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Jharnapani (New Medziphema) to express its dissatisfaction over the alleged non-recognition of traditional landowners and what it described as the State Government's lack of urgency in addressing the ongoing Maova Village issue.
According to a press release issued on Tuesday, the organisation said the rally is also intended to reaffirm the Chakhroma Public Organisation's position as the traditional landowners and to assert that it will not compromise on its ancestral rights.
Following a brief programme at the Peren-NU Medziphema Campus road junction, participants will proceed to the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Medziphema, where a memorandum will be submitted to the Government.
The CPO has appealed to all tribal bodies and right-thinking citizens to join the peaceful rally in support of safeguarding what it described as the ancestral rights of the Nagas, which it believes are under threat at this critical juncture.
