The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) movement, which began as an honest fight against systemic paper leaks and deep-seated educational injustice, has now been crushed by an outrageous display of state power. To cover up its own failures and keep citizens away from the seats of power, the government systematically shut down key metro stations, blocked public transit routes, and completely paralyzed the daily life of everyday working citizens. But the worst part was not the closed iron gates of transport hubs; it was the sheer, unwarranted violence unleashed directly on the streets. Heavy police forces treated peaceful, empty-handed young citizens like dangerous criminals, unleashing a wave of state aggression. Charging at defenseless students with wooden lathis and firing tear gas canisters at idealistic youth who were simply asking for basic transparency is an unforgivable abuse of authority that brings deep shame to our constitutional republic.

The human cost of this heavy-handed police action is truly heartbreaking and impossible to ignore. A young female protester was critically injured in the brutality and rushed into the Intensive Care Unit, where she had to be placed on life support while fighting for her survival at RML Hospital. Opposition leaders Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra rushed to the medical facility to check on the wounded and stand in solidarity, bringing urgent national attention to a human tragedy that the ruling establishment tried hard to brush aside. Meanwhile, renowned climate activist and reformer Sonam Wangchuk continues his high-stakes hunger strike, his body growing frail by the day while his unwavering moral courage shines brighter than ever. Shifted under medical care while refusing to break his fast, his declining physical condition stands as a living testament to a cold administration that stubbornly refuses to engage with its finest, most selfless minds. Seeing dedicated, peaceful citizens driven to the absolute brink of critical medical emergency just to be heard is a clear and alarming sign of how far our current political leadership has drifted from basic human decency.

This excessive use of police force is not merely an overreaction; it is a direct, dangerous assault on our democratic spirit. When a state uses wooden batons, tear gas, and mass detentions to answer basic questions about fairness and truth, it openly admits that it has no moral arguments left to offer. Shutting down public transportation, barricading entire sectors, and inflicting blunt force trauma on our own young population will never suppress the truth; it only reveals a government that is deeply terrified of its own people. Those holding power must immediately halt this reckless cycle of official violence, hold aggressive officers fully accountable for their heavy-handed tactics, and meet with the protesting students with genuine empathy and respect. A state that beats its bright young citizens on the streets today is simply destroying its own democratic future tomorrow.
