Kakching, August 14, 2026: A combined team of CDO Unit/Kakching, Arong Police Station and 46 Assam Rifles recovered a cache of arms, ammunition and empty cases during a search operation at the Double Khong Marifangbi canal area under Arong Police Station on Friday.
The operation was launched after security forces received reliable information regarding the concealment of arms and ammunition by armed groups.
The recovered items included one 9mm pistol, one .303 LMG, three INSAS rifles and four single-barrel guns.
Security forces also recovered 30 magazines of different arms, 2,156 live rounds of ammunition of different calibres and 157 empty ammunition cases.
The operation was conducted on August 14, 2026, as part of efforts to detect and recover concealed weapons and ammunition in the area.
