Imphal, August 14, 2026: Security forces recovered a cache of arms, ammunition, explosives and other equipment from Awa-Ching under Porompat Police Station in Imphal East district on Friday.
The recovered items include one .32 pistol with magazine, two 12-bore double-barrel guns, 13 12-bore single-barrel guns and one .22 rifle with magazine and telescope.
The forces also recovered two 9mm pistols with magazines, six hand grenades with detonators, three BAOFENG wireless sets and 14 rounds of ammunition of different calibres.
In addition, three anti-riot grenades, rubber bullets and tear smoke shells were recovered from the area.
The recovery was made during a security operation on August 14, 2026. Further details regarding the operation and the suspected ownership of the recovered items were not immediately available.
