KANGPOKPI, August 19, 2026: The Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) Twilang Block has submitted an urgent appeal to Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Nemcha Kipgen requesting the immediate posting of regular doctors at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Tujang Vaichong, Kangpokpi District.
According to the letter signed by KSO Twilang Block President Letkhochon Chongloi, PHC Tujang Vaichong serves a large population across local and surrounding villages.
The student body emphasized that residents are currently facing severe difficulties due to the complete absence of a regular doctor at the facility.
The representation highlighted that emergency patients, including pregnant women, children, and elderly individuals, are forced to travel long distances to Kangpokpi for medical treatment. The organization noted that such travel poses significant risks given the ongoing conflict in the region.
To prevent delays in basic healthcare delivery, KSO Twilang Block urged the Deputy Chief Minister's office to arrange the immediate posting of two doctors to the PHC.
