Kuki Villages Face Attacks as Questions Rise Over CRPF

A Kuki village, Kailenjang, was reportedly burned by NSCN-IM militants just a day ago, while an economic blockade continues to deprive Kuki civilians of basic necessities. Yet today, CRPF personnel are reportedly conducting forceful operations in KMC (Keithelmanbi Military Colony), Leimakhong, in Kangpokpi district -- another Kuki village.

This raises a serious question: where is the same urgency when Kuki villages are attacked and civilians are denied access to essential supplies?

Security forces must not be selective in their actions. If there is the authority and strength to enter and pressure a vulnerable village, there must also be the resolve to confront those responsible for burning homes and enforcing blockades.

Kuki people everywhere should stand against unjust and heavy-handed actions and call for equal protection, accountability and justice for all civilians.
