Aizawl, August 11, 2026 — The Council of Churches in Mizoram (CCM) organised a public rally in Aizawl on Tuesday to voice opposition to the proposed Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) Amendment Bill, 2026.
The rally, titled “FCRA Bill Duh Loh Kawngzawh (Rally Against FCRA Bill)”, began at around 10:30 am from Zarkawt and Sikulpuikawn. Participants from both routes are scheduled to converge at the Vanapa Hall campus, where a public gathering will be held.
CCM Treasurer Upa R. Lalmalsawma will lead the gathering, while CCM President Rev. Dr. R. Lalbiakliana is scheduled to address the participants. CCM General Secretary Rev. Dr. Lalhmangaiha will deliver the vote of thanks, followed by a prayer and blessing by Rev. Joseph Koma Chinzah.
The CCM currently comprises nine churches. Other churches that are not affiliated with the CCM have also been invited to participate in the rally, which seeks to demonstrate collective opposition to the proposed FCRA amendment.
