Kangpokpi, August 14, 2026: The Mayangkhang Village Authority in Kangpokpi district has strongly rejected allegations by the Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO)–Sadar Hills regarding the alleged hijacking of a Bolero pickup belonging to Lamtingchon Chonbloi at Mayangkhang Thangal village. Kanglatongbi, August 14, 2026: Three members of the Thadou community who were detained at Namdilong village near Kanglatongbi were released and handed over to the Manipur Police following intervention by community leaders and senior police officials. Kakching, August 14, 2026: A combined team of CDO Unit/Kakching, Arong Police Station and 46 Assam Rifles recovered a cache of arms, ammunition and empty cases during a search operation at the Double Khong Marifangbi canal area under Arong Police Station on Friday. Imphal, August 14, 2026: Security forces recovered a cache of arms, ammunition, explosives and other equipment from Awa-Ching under Porompat Police Station in Imphal East district on Friday. The recovered items include one .32 pistol with magazine, two 12-bore double-barrel guns, 13 12-bore single-barrel guns and one .22 rifle with magazine and telescope.
