Leikot Village in Noney district, Manipur, was allegedly burnt down in an attack by suspected NSCN-IM militants at around 5:00 a.m. on July 2, 2026. Local village volunteers, armed with limited licensed firearms, were reportedly overpowered by attackers using automatic weapons and mortar shells. The village was then allegedly set on fire, causing extensive damage.
