NSCN-K Returns After Myanmar Peace Talks in Naypyidaw

On 4 August 2026, the National Socialist Council of Nagaland-K (Ang Mai) Ceasefire Committee, led by U Chin Maung, received a warm welcome from Naga civil society leaders and community members upon arriving at Khamti Airport after returning from Naypyidaw, where the delegation held peace talks with the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) of the Union of Myanmar.

Representatives of the Naga communities from Khamti and Lahe, along with well-wishers, gathered at the airport to receive the delegation, reflecting strong public interest in the ongoing ceasefire process and political dialogue.

Following the reception, the delegation met with local Naga civil society leaders to discuss the continuing peace process and the importance of sustained dialogue.

The delegation had travelled to Naypyidaw for official engagements with Myanmar's peace negotiation body under the existing ceasefire framework. Although details of the discussions have not yet been made public, the visit marks another step in ongoing efforts to promote political dialogue, strengthen the ceasefire process, and pursue a peaceful resolution to longstanding issues through negotiations.
