TNL Alleges Civilian Frisking by Assam Rifles in Ukhrul

Ukhrul, August 6, 2026: The Working Committee of the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has alleged that personnel of the Assam Rifles have been conducting unnecessary frisking of civilians and random checks in different parts of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts over the past few days, causing inconvenience to commuters and local residents. In a press communiqué issued on Thursday, the TNL claimed that personnel of the 11 Assam Rifles carried out frisking of civilian vehicles at Maku village junction on August 6, leading to delays for travellers along the Imphal–Ukhrul–Kamjong route.
