The stand of NSCN

As enemies and false political teachers of the Nagas keep sowing the bitter seeds of dissension and the toxic preaching in the public platforms and Mass Medias every now and then, NSCN has to reiterate its unambiguous stand on Naga national political issue.

No one can deny the historical fact that NNC has fallen from the grace. After the fall of NNC, NSCN was mandated by the Naga National Assembly to continue the resistance movement. Today, NSCN is recognized by the Government of India as the only authentic political organization of the Naga people, which is officially engaging political talks with Government of India at the Prime Minister level.

As loyal soldiers of the people, NSCN has fought enemies of all hues in all Naga areas – in the East, in the West, in the North and in the South. Our enemies have tried their best to finish us, but failed miserably. We survived the onslaught of the enemies by God’s grace. We have ruled out ‘military solution’. We are but for an honourable political solution.

In the diplomatic field, the NSCN leaders have talked with many international dignitaries from many countries covering five continents. They extended their strong supports to the case of the Nagas. NSCN was granted Membership to UNPO (Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization), a parallel organization to UNO (United Nations Organization).  Leaders of NSCN were granted the privilege to speak on human right situation in Nagalim in the United Nations Human Right Meetings consecutively for six times. We are signatory of the Geneva Call Deed of Commitment. Our people are well informed about this.

It has taken us fifty years to come to the historic Framework Agreement. We earned it with our blood, sweat, tears, labour, wealth and time. This is the only agreement between the Government of India and the Naga people represented by the National Socialist Council of Nagalim at the Prime Minister level. It will take another fifty year or more if we are to go for another agreement other than the Framework Agreement or backtracked. We must value the Framework Agreement at all costs.

Is it rational to talk about formation of a common platform apart from NCSN? NSCN is the political Council of the Naga people, under its roof, the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim, the Naga Army, the Council of Nagalim Churches, the National Socialist Women’s Organization of Nagalim are functioning. We are confronting the aggressors with an organized system of a parallel government. The Naga people, the Churches and the civil societies are with us and above all, the world is with us. Is it too small for us?

The viruses of rebellion, disloyalty and worshipping of the golden calf transmitted from the enemies’ laboratories have infected the minds of some workers in the set up and some of the public as well. It will eat deep into the vitality of the organization and the nation if it is not treated before it is too late.

Rest assured that the Framework Agreement talks about recognition of the unique history of Naga independence. It talks about recognition of sovereignty of the Nagas. It talks about recognition of Naga identity. It talks about recognition of land of the Nagas. It talks about recognition of the legitimate right of the Nagas to integrate all Nagas territories. It also talks about recognition of NSCN as the authentic political organization of the Naga people. It also talks about coexistence of the two entities sharing sovereign power. We no longer view India as our enemy, but our potential partner.

Nevertheless, if the Government of India backtrack this historic Framework Agreement which was signed at the highest level and in the eye of the whole world, it will amount to the murder of human rights and the murder of history. If then, who on earth will trust India? Will the Naga people have any reason to trust India?

The FNR’s statement, ‘Beyond Framework Agreement’ is an antithesis of the officially signed historic Framework Agreement. It is viewed as an attempt to murder the Framework Agreement. Therefore, the NSCN unequivocally condemn it.
