Naga Women's Union Mourns Village Guard's Death

Senapati, July 30, 2026: The Naga Women's Union (NWU) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Naga Village Guard Pouh Lanbimei Riamei (29), who lost his life on 29 July 2026 at Bitiang Village.

In a condolence message issued on Friday, the NWU described the deceased as a devoted village guard who made the "supreme sacrifice" while safeguarding the ancestral land, rights, and dignity of the Naga people.

The union stated that his courage, unwavering commitment, and selfless service would always be remembered. It added that his sacrifice symbolises the resilience and determination of the Naga people in the face of adversity.

The NWU also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for God's comfort and strength during this difficult time. It further prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul, saying that his memory would continue to inspire future generations.
