Kangpokpi, August 13, 2026: Joint security teams recovered arms, ammunition, communication equipment and other items during a search operation conducted at Joupi and Khoirok villages in Kangpokpi district on August 12. The operation was carried out by teams of Manipur Police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), CoBRA and the Rapid Action Force (RAF). According to the security forces, the recovery included one .22 rifle with a magazine, five single-barrel guns, four walkie-talkie sets, six walkie-talkie chargers, 158 rounds of 12-bore ammunition and six empty cartridge cases. Kohima, August 13, 2026: The Kohima Chakhesang Students’ Union (KCSU) has withdrawn its participation from the upcoming Independence Day programme in Nagaland, citing a directive issued by the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF). In a letter dated August 13 addressed to the Director of the Art & Culture Department, Government of Nagaland, the KCSU said it would not be able to participate in the August 15 Independence Day programme.
