Hill Tribal Council (HTC) Moreh Clarifies
This clarification is made following repeated allegation on a selfless prominent social worker of Moreh in social media in the aftermath of the gunning down of an SDPO of Moreh police station. The accusations made against him are wilful and unfounded.
Mr. Philip K. Khongsai is the president of Moreh Youth Club, who is actively engaged in promoting sports among the youths of Moreh. To the best of our knowledge he is an outspoken person who speaks his thought, a daring and honest individual who never hesitates to call spade a spade and not the kind to commit homicide.
It is very unfortunate there exist people who blindly made allegations based on cooked imagination. Proof and evidences are required to make accusation. Blind accusation tantamount to harassment.

Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF): Press Release
As chief minister of the state, Biren is duty-bound to work for the welfare of the entire population and should be striving to maintain law and order. Instead, he said he became a lawmaker to look after the interests of the Meiteis.
“I knew this (conflict) was going to happen 10 years ago… the land needs to be saved, the community (Meiteis) needs to be saved, that is the reason why I became a candidate (in the state election),” Biren said at a recent public event. The video of his speech was released by Meitei social media handles on November 22, 2023.
Manipur has witnessed a state-sponsored ethnic cleansing of minority Kuki-Zo tribals since May 3, 2023. After almost seven months, thousands of government-issued weapons looted from state armouries by Meitei mobs are still being used to attack tribal settlements. Meitei militant groups like Arambai Tenggol are allowed to roam freely with automatic weapons in Imphal and the surrounding valley areas. They are even accompanied by police commandos while attacking tribal villages.
More than 150 tribals have been killed, 7,000 homes burned by Meitei mobs and more than 40,000 tribals displaced since the start of the conflict.
In his speech, the chief minister talked about fighting the “enemy” and hinted that he was the one in charge of planning the “war”. “Who talks beforehand about how they are going to fight the enemy? Do you think I will publicly tell the people about what I am going to do?” Biren said during his speech. “We need to do things with a clear head… we will not win the war by shouting loudly on social media and other platforms.”
Never before in the history of independent India has a chief minister publicly said he has gone to war with citizens in his own state. It is time the central government, the media, and prominent personalities call Biren out for who he is – a Meitei chauvinist who is using his power to kill hundreds of Indian citizens.
Kuki-Zo tribals have nothing to expect from the communal Manipur government except discrimination and death. A separate administration is the only solution.

Manipur: Committee on Tribal Unity (COTU) expresses discontentment
In a Protest held Today at Leikop, Kangpokpi District, womenfolk expresses discontentment against the brutal murder of the two Kuki-Zo on 20th November.
The two innocent villagers were killed by disguised insurgents donning state forces camouflage, armed with sophisticated weapons.
Womenfolk raise slogans such as "We demand CBI inquiry", "We are no longer safe in Manipur", "Expedite political solution for the Kuki-Zo," and "We want Justice".
The suspects in the murder of the two deceased are the same group of disguised insurgents that killed three Kuki-Zo on 12th September. Videos and image of them celebrating a feast after committing the crime is available in public domain.
If any Kuki-Zo can be arrested on grounds of mere suspicion without any concrete evidence, then those suspects deserves immediate conviction. Our trust in the law is waning and if this system goes any longer, it will be a mockery to our democratic & constitutional values. Honb'le Prime Minister must not let the minorities be a mere sacrificial lamb for the majority community.
The Union government must think beyond electoral politics and look into the sentiments of the minorities. As our patience is running out, the constant subjugation will only lead to unwanted consequences in the coming days.
Besides, the Committee had been imposing economic blockade along the two National highways I,e. NH-2 & NH-37. The economic blockade will lapse after five days i,e on 28th November and the Union Home Ministry must look into the following matters.
1. The non-reciprocity on essential items and medical supplies from valley to Kuki-Zo areas- Lamka, Tengnoupal & Kanggui
2. The biased resettlement of displaced Meiteis in Kuki-Zo areas.
3. The selective security protection for Meitei farmers.
4.The constitutional breach of diverting tribal developmental funds.
5. The non-response of our demands for political separation.

Kuki Christian Leaders’ Fellowship clarifies false allegations
Although, in the video footage, he appears to have done this to pacify the repeated unlawful armoury lootings in the valley, his false allegations have confused the public and hence hinders the peace process. Th e KCLF has conducted spot inquiry and verifi ed that none of the Meitei churches in the hills were destroyed until today, and the ones destroyed in the valley were done not by the Kukis. Th e same has been clarified recently by the Manipur Evangelical Lutheran Church (MELC) besides that of Rev Simon Raomei, the President of All Manipur Christian Committee and others whose names cannot be mentioned here for their security reasons.
KCLF further states that Mr Philem’s allegation of relief funds being in the ‘wrong hands’ to buy arms and ammunitions, as he claims, smears both the donors and the recipients and also paints a wrong picture of Christianity in India when many have already suffered because of such wrong understandings. Th e KCLF earnestly appeals to all the citizens of Manipur, particularly Christian communities to promote truthfulness, peace and love and not falsehood and hatred. In this longest civil war in a democratic country, both sides have suffered particularly the minority tribal Christians. Violence in all forms must stop and peace process must start.
