ZOU Youth Organisation (ZYO) Shillong President Mr Aron Muanthang, along with leaders of ZYO-GHQ, today visited Mrs Vungi, the wife of Late Dallamthang, who served as a ZYO Ambulance Driver. During the visit, they extended support to the bereaved family by providing household essentials such as rice, dal, cooking oil, salt, and cold drinks.
Late Dallamthang was carrying a patient from Imphal Airport on 3 May 2023 when violence suddenly broke out on the way. Fearing for his safety, he took refuge at Moirang Police Station. However, on the night of 4 May, a Meitei mob allegedly took him away from the police station and brutally beat him to death.
The painful memory of his tragic death still remains in the hearts of his loved ones and the community. His service, courage, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
