Lamka, 09 July 2026: The Kuki Human Rights Council (KHRC) has strongly criticised the visit of Manipur Chief Minister Y. Khemchand to Churachandpur by helicopter, alleging that it was facilitated by the Central Government without the free, prior and informed consent of the Kuki people. Manipur CM Meets Kuki-Zo Christian Leaders in Kangpokpi

On 8 July 2026, the Chief Minister of Manipur visited Kangpokpi and interacted with leaders of the Kuki-Zo Christian Forum. During the meeting, the Forum submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister, highlighting issues concerning the Kuki-Zo community. While addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of peace, reconciliation, and unity in Manipur.
