Notes:
Phaitui is the poetic form of the word Phaisat.
Setang refers to abundant food grains.
Sawmsial refers to mithun, domesticated in large numbers by the Thangkhal people in Phaisat.
The people of Phaisat are hardworking. Year after year, they could not even finish the old harvest before the new one arrived. This abundance continued for many generations. Not only this, but every evening and night in Phaisat was like a festival. It is often said that in Phaisat, festivals never end.
This song is still sung by the Thangkhal during festivals, reflecting the deep significance of Phaisat in their lives and memories.
Phaisat is one of the oldest and most renowned Thangkhal-speaking villages, remembered as a place where starvation was never known.
