According to the Shwe Phee Myay News Agency, eight civilians, including a child, were killed in Momeik Township of northern Shan State, an area under the control of the Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), after a military aircraft dropped a 250-pound bomb. Reports confirmed that there was no fighting on the ground at the time.
At around 6:30 p.m. on October 9, the military dropped three 250-pound bombs over Weabaung village. The airstrike instantly killed eight civilians — one child, five men, and two women.
The victims have been identified as a 13-year-old girl, a 53-year-old woman, a 63-year-old woman, a 48-year-old man, a 25-year-old man, an 18-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy, and a 50-year-old man.
Additionally, around eight others were injured, and at least 10 civilian homes were destroyed in the bombing, according to local reports.
