Chandel, May 25 (DIO): The week-long Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Campaign under the Jan Bhagidari initiative, themed “Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle,” concluded successfully in Chandel district today. The awareness and outreach programme was organised as part of the Janjatiya Gaurav Utsav 2026.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that although 91 villages in Chandel district fall under the DAGUA scheme, 20 villages are currently deserted, and therefore the campaign focused on the remaining 71 villages.
He stated that the camps were aimed at saturating various government welfare schemes and public services. Aadhaar enrolment drives conducted during the campaign resulted in 175 new enrolments along with more than 200 mandatory biometric updates. Over 1,000 people reportedly participated in the camps.
Officials from several departments, including Health, Agriculture, Forest, and Education, took part in the outreach programme to provide benefits and services to eligible beneficiaries. Efforts were also made to facilitate health cards, ration cards, and other welfare-related services.
The Deputy Commissioner further informed that transect walks were conducted in every village to map local resources, population, and educational institutions. The exercise also helped identify critical gaps and issues in the villages, which the administration plans to address through various government schemes.
He added that the campaign was organised with the objective of ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left out from availing government schemes and essential services.
