Joint Press Statement: KSO-ZSF-HSA

06-11-2025

Incidents in recent months indicate a push towards suppressing the voices that dare to speak up against Injustice. The selective targeting of innocent society leaders (leaders of Student Organisations) by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in various cases is the strongest case in point.

In this regard, we strongly condemn the selective targeting of unarmed civilian leaders who have nothing to do with NIA cases or cases that involve threat to National Security. On the other hand, all Anti-National activities have occurred in the valley districts, the latest example is the armed ambush on a convoy of the Assam Rifles (AR) at Nambol which left two AR personnel dead on September 19th 2025.

We are confident of a high degree of bias against our people in the filing and handling of cases. While we question the lack of progress in henious crimes against our people, cases such as the inhumane killing of David Thiek, we demand an end to this bias and for swift action in filing and concluding cases involving the Majority Meitei Community.

The biased approach adopted by various agencies is further indicated by the lack of Counter-Insurgency operations in the Valley which stands in sharp contrast to the Jammu & Kashmir style encounter carried out in Khanpi Village, Henglep Sub-division. The victims were youth dedicated to defending their lands against Meitei Aggression.

We further assert that should Student and Youth Leaders be summoned in the future, a boycott of the biased agencies will be carried out.

Lastly, as Student and Youth Leaders, we and the youth we represent strongly believe and abide by the Principles of the Constitution of India and will continue to do so.

ITLF Exposes Forensic Discrepancies in Biren Singh Audio Tapes

Exposing Forensic Discrepancies in Biren Singh Audio Tapes — A Call for Justice

The Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF) strongly condemns the glaring inconsistencies in the forensic examination of the audio tapes implicating former Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh in the ethnic violence against the Kuki-Zo community.

The National Forensic Science Laboratory’s (NFSL) recent statement to the Supreme Court—claiming it is “not in a position” to confirm the authenticity or identify the voice due to alleged tampering—is deeply troubling. Such evasion from a government-run institution raises serious concerns about bias and accountability in a case involving grave human rights violations.

In sharp contrast, Truth Labs, an independent and reputable forensic agency, conclusively identified a 93% voice match with Biren Singh. This scientific evidence remains unchallenged, except by government-controlled bodies seemingly serving political interests.

ITLF urges the Central Government to end its protection of Biren Singh and allow justice to prevail. The recordings clearly expose his complicity in the violence that killed and displaced countless Kuki-Zo people. Continued denial and contradictory reports only extend the trauma of the victims and obstruct the truth.

We reaffirm our faith in the Supreme Court to ensure an independent and transparent investigation free from political interference. ITLF stands firm with the Kuki-Zo people and calls upon all democratic institutions, the media, and civil society to uphold justice and accountability.

Justice delayed is justice denied — our people’s pain will not be silenced.

CENTRAL VILLAGE DEFENCE FORCE: PRESS COMMUNIQUE

Lamka; November 5, 2025

The Central Village Defence Force (CVDF) expresses its profound sorrow and heartfelt condolences on the tragic demise of four members of the United Kuki National Army (UKNA), who lost their lives in an encounter with Security Forces at Khanpi Village, Henglep Sub-Division, Churachandpur District, Ma-nipur. May their souls rest in eternal peace and may the Almighty comfort and strengthen the bereaved families during this painful time.

As the mortal remains of the deceased are to be laid to rest tomorrow, the CVDF urges that the funeral proceedings be carried out smoothly and with due solemnity. Despite repeated announcements and the "Public Notification" issued by this office on 4th November, 2025 (Ref. No. Adm/CVDF/1/2023), it is unfortunate that the ITLF, vide file no.: ITLF-PN-202589 dated 5th Nov., 2025 has again declared a shutdown in Lamka Town.

The CVDF firmly states that such unilateral declarations are unacceptable and undermine our collective existence and operational jurisdiction. No bandh, shutdown or strike shall be imposed within our area of responsibility. Accord-ingly, all shops, offices and establishments are hereby advise to carry on their normal activities without fear or hesitation.
