The Zomi Chiefs' Association recalls its press statement dated 08.02.2026 demanding the immediate implementation of Government Gazette Order No. 337 dated 07 January 2022, by which Thanlon Sub-Division was re-amalgamated with Churachandpur District. A copy was forwarded to the Pherzawl District Administration. However, despite being formally notified, the Pherzawl District Administration refused to take corrective action and continues to list Thanlon Sub-Division, Thanlon Police Station, and 56–Thanlon (ST) Assembly Constituency under its jurisdiction on its official website, in blatant disregard of the Government Gazette notification.
The continued interference and administrative assertions by the Pherzawl District Administration over Thanlon Sub-Division, despite a clear and binding Government Gazette notification, are unacceptable. The Zomi Chiefs' Association will not remain silent while a valid Government Order is openly ignored.
In view of this continued disregard, the Zomi Chiefs' Association hereby declares a complete boycott of the Pherzawl District Administration. All village chiefs and the general public of Thanlon Sub-Division are advised not to participate in, cooperate with, or facilitate any program or activity organized by the Pherzawl District Administration. This boycott will remain in force until all concerned departments are formally transferred to the Churachandpur District Administration, or until it is withdrawn by the Zomi Chiefs' Association.
Further, in order to reaffirm the lawful and notified status of Thanlon Sub-Division, the Zomi Chiefs' Association declares 08 March 2026 as "Implementation Affirmation Day."
On this day:
All village chiefs shall convene public meetings in their respective villages and publicly read out Government Gazette Order No. 337 dated 07 January 2022.
The contents and implications of the said Order shall be clearly explained in local dialects so that the public fully understands the legal position.
The Association once again calls upon the concerned authorities to immediately implement the Gazette Order in both letter and spirit, including the transfer of all remaining departments and the correction of all official records, notifications, and representations.
If the continued non-implementation persists, the Zomi Chiefs' Association will deliberate on its next course of action and take all necessary steps in the larger public interest.

The MHA Helicopter subsidy scheme is being operated by the State Government through M/s Global Vectra Helicorp Ltd. The operational cost for the scheme is shared between Centre & State in the ration of 75:25.Under this scheme, State is providing Passenger Helicopter service in the State connecting important district headquarters of Jiribam, churachandpur, Kangpokpi & Senapati, Tamenglong, Tengnoupal and Ukhrul District of the State. Further, the State is also operating the inter-state Helicopter service from Imphal – Churachandpur (Manipur) - Mualpui (Aizawl), Mizoram and Dimapur, Nagaland, since the 27th September, 2023 and 1st November, 2023 respectively.
