Noney, July 15, 2026: Teikhang and Lenglong villages in the remote Lonpi area of Manipur's Noney district were reportedly set ablaze in a coordinated attack at around 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The attack allegedly involved Tangkhul-led factions of NSCN (Muivah) and ZUF-K, resulting in extensive destruction of property. According to local sources, both villages had already been deserted earlier this month after residents fled due to fears of possible attacks. Imphal, July 15, 2026: A joint representation submitted by several petroleum transporters' and dealers' associations has raised concerns over alleged extortion targeting oil tanker trucks plying the Imphal–Jiribam stretch of National Highway-37 in Manipur.
