22 June, 2024: The Hmar Students' Association Tuiṭhaphai JHQ endorse to the fullest on the "Mass Rally" organized by the Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF) which will be held on Monday, June 24th, starting from Public Ground at 11 : 00 a.m. and concluding at Peace Ground, Tuibong.
For over a year, our communities have been subjected to state-sponsored ethnic violence. With the Lok Sabha monsoon session approaching, the central government is preparing to implement a ceasefire, while the Meitei government continues to pursue its own agendas, often to the detriment of our people.
It is crucial that we stand together to ensure our collective voices are heard by the central government so that our political demand for Union Territory with Legislature under Article 239 (A) of the Indian Constitution is met. Our participation will demonstrate our unity and strength in the face of adversity.
To emphasize the gravity of our cause, a total shutdown has been called for the day of the rally. We humbly request everyone to join in this rally. By participating, we can send a clear message to the central government that our demands for Separate Administration cannot be ignored.
This rally is a testament to our resilience and our committee to a just future and your involvement is essential in showing our solidarity
