Date: 23rd December 2025
On this blessed occasion of Christmas, on behalf of the Kuki-Zo Council, I extend my warm greetings and heartfelt wishes to all Kuki-Zo brothers and sisters, wherever you may be.
For the past two years, our people have been denied the joy and peace of celebrating Christmas in its true spirit due to the prolonged ethnic conflict and the immense suffering it has caused. Homes were destroyed, families displaced, lives lost, and our collective spirit was tested in ways never imagined. Those were times of pain, sacrifice, and resilience.
This year, as the atmosphere is relatively more conducive, I encourage our people to spend this Christmas with your loved ones and families—sharing love, warmth, and compassion, which are the very essence of Christmas. Let this season remind us of hope, healing, and the strength we draw from togetherness.
However, even as we celebrate, we must not forget the reality we continue to face. We are still at war. Justice has not yet been delivered to the Kuki-Zo people. No agreement, settlement, or understanding has been reached to address our rightful political aspirations and the injustices inflicted upon us. The struggle is far from over.
Therefore, I urge every Kuki-Zo individual to remain vigilant, steadfast, and united. Our unity is our greatest strength. We must continue to stand firm and pursue our political demands with determination, discipline, and unwavering resolve until justice is secured and our rights are fully realised.
May this Christmas renew our courage, strengthen our unity, and guide us forward in our collective journey.
Merry Christmas to all the Kuki-Zo people.
May God bless our land and our people.
(HENLIANTHANG THANGLET)
Chairman,
Kuki-Zo Council (KZC)
