Kuki Council condemns NH-2 transport resumption
LAMKA, Aug. 21, 2026 — The Kuki Human Rights Council has condemned the resumption of public transport services on National Highway-2 between Imphal and Dimapur, calling it undemocratic, unconstitutional and an imposition of state power on a wounded and divided population.

Khumi Armed Group Office Raided in Lawngtlai
LAWNGTLAI, MIZORAM: The temporary office of the Khumi armed group KNCP/KPF was raided by the Young Lai Association (YLA) and police in Lawngtlai on August 19, according to reports.
The raid took place at around 7:30 pm at the office in Lawngtlai, the headquarters of the Lai Autonomous District.
One person found inside the building was detained during the operation. Military uniforms and various other equipment, reportedly including military supplies, were also seized.
