ENGLAND were held to a frustrating goalless draw by a disciplined Ghana side in Group L of the FIFA World Cup 2026. Despite dominating possession with nearly 79% of the ball and registering 19 shots, Thomas Tuchel’s men failed to find a breakthrough. Harry Kane came closest late in the match after Nico O'Reilly struck the crossbar, but GHANA's resolute defence stood firm throughout the encounter. The Black Stars, coached by Carlos Queiroz, executed their defensive game plan effectively and limited England to only three shots on target.

🔥 After opening their campaign with a thrilling 4–2 victory over Croatia, England were unable to maintain their winning momentum and had to settle for a point. The result leaves both England and Ghana on four points after two matches, keeping qualification to the Round of 32 firmly within reach for both sides. Ghana, who defeated Panama 1–0 in their opener, continued their impressive defensive record and remain unbeaten without conceding a goal in the tournament. England now face Panama in their final Group L fixture, while Ghana take on Croatia in a decisive clash that could determine the group's final standings.

PORTUGAL produced a stunning performance to thrash Uzbekistan 5–0 and move firmly into contention for a place in the Round of 32. Cristiano Ronaldo silenced his critics with a brilliant first-half brace, becoming the first player in football history to score in six different FIFA World Cups. Nuno Mendes added a superb free-kick before the break, while an own goal from Abduvohid Nematov and a late strike from Rafael Leão completed the rout. Portugal dominated possession and created chances throughout the match, leaving Uzbekistan with little opportunity to mount a response.

🔥 After opening their campaign with a 1–1 draw against DR Congo, Portugal responded in emphatic fashion to claim their first win of the tournament and strengthen their qualification hopes. Ronaldo's historic brace took his World Cup tally to 10 goals and reaffirmed his importance to Roberto Martínez's side. UZBEKISTAN, meanwhile, suffered a second consecutive defeat and now face an uphill battle to keep their knockout-stage hopes alive. Group K remains intriguing ahead of the final round of matches, with Portugal set for a decisive showdown against Colombia.
