Lamka, 24 April 2024 — The leaders of Thangkhal Baptist Church (ABA), Manipur today felicitated Miss Carolyn Chingthianmawi with Thangkhal traditional shawl for becoming the first IAS among the Thangkhals in Manipur.
Miss Carolyn Chingthianmawi is the daughter of Mr T. Pauminlianthang and Mrs Lamneikim.
Mr Pauminlianthang is the ex Presidents of Thangkhal Peoples' Organisation (TPO) and Thangkhal Sinlai Pawlpi (students union), Manipur.
Carolyn is the third of four siblings.

Committee on Tribal Unity condemns attack at Phaijang-Luwangsangol

Date: 23rd April 2024
The Committee vehemently condemns the attack at Phaijang-Luwangsangol by the sessionist armed Militas and Arambai Tenggol at around 12pm this afternoon. Mention may be made that these outfits needs to redeem themselves from the misdeeds of sabotaging the recently concluded parliamentary election in the valley.
It is also pertinent to point out that the case of two Kuki-Zo volunteers who were butchered in the most inhuman manner at Phailengmol is still unresolved.
Therefore, the exasperated Chief Minister of Manipur is advice to control his armed militias from trespassing and aggression into Kuki-Zo areas in order to redeem himself and his Arambai Tenggol from the recently concluded election fiasco in the valley.

EULOGY to Our Fallen Heroe: Mr Jacob L Pakhuongte
JACOB L PAKHUONGTE (46 years)
H/o Nu Mercy Lalrokhawl
> Son of Pu (L) Ruolneimawi Pakhuongte & Pi Lalvulmawi Pakhuongte of Nehru Marg, Zenhang Lamka
- Mr. Jacob Pakhuongte lived a life which brimmed with optimism and kindliness. A doting father to two young girls and a loving husband, discipline and heroism was second nature to him. His selfless love for his people was thoroughly exhibited when he decided to volunteer himself to defend his land though he knew he could lose his life and leave behind his family.
- He assumed role as the Commander of UPVC and exuded relentless courage and induced motivation to his subjects. Under his watchful command, countless young volunteers garnered experience and a patriotic aspiration for our homeland.
- On 20st April, he lost his life owing to a heart attack and was buried with full honour at Martyrs’ cemetery, Sheken, on 21st April 2024 around 3 pm. He is survived by a wife and two young daughters named Eunice and Jokebed.
- With his death, an unflaggingly heroic man like Jacob has immortalised his name among the legion of martyrs who laid down their lives in defence of our ancestral land and we will perpetually remain indebted for his noble sacrifice.
May his soul rest in peace!

Windstorm damaged houses in T Kotlian village
Lamka, 21 March 2024 — A windstorm yesterday night damaged several houses in T Kotlian village, around 11:25pm. Even trees were reportedly uprooted.
As per reports, two houses belonging to Mrs Nuamneiniang and Mr Lamkhanmuan have been damaged by the windstorm on Saturday night.
However, no loss of life reported.
