08/10/2025 (Wed): Tonzang villagers today unanimously adopted their Village Action Plan during a Gram Sabha convened at the designated Adi Sewa Kendra. The meeting was held under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs' flagship initiative, the Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan, marking the fourth Gram Sabha conducted in Singngat Sub-Division under the programme.
Village Authority Vice Chairman Shri Kamminthang presided over the session and formally presented the Village Action Plan, outlining the community's critical infrastructure needs and articulating its collective aspirations. The deliberations saw active participation from SDC Shri Rex Lengen, Block Master Trainers, Adi Sathis, Adi Sahiyogis, and officials from key line departments, who engaged with villagers and responded to queries raised during the proceedings.
Speaking on the sidelines, Shri Rex Lengen lauded the village leadership and residents for their proactive engagement and thoughtful preparation of the plan. He noted that while the proposal reflects the genuine aspirations of the people, its final approval rests with the state and central authorities concerned. 07 Oct: The delay in reaching a final solution to the Naga political talk is due to issues related to "competencies and internal divisions among different Naga groups", Salemyang Gangmei-a member of the collective leadership of NSCN/GPRN-has said, calling on the Zeliangrong United Front/ZUF leadership to come forward fo: peaceful negotiations.
The Naga peace process is ongoing, but the delay in reaching a final solution is due to issues related to "competencies and internal divisions among different Naga groups", said Salemyang.
He said this at a consultation and interaction programme focused on the "Current Political Situation of the Naga" held at the community hall of Longmai-3 Baptist Church, located at Noney District Headquarters today.

04 Oct 2025 (Sat): A female cadre of the banned militant outfit NSCN (IM) surrendered before the Assam Rifles at Khonsa in Arunachal Pradesh's Tirap district on Friday.
The self-styled corporal, identified as *Shikngam Wangpan, laid down arms before security personnel and was subsequently handed over to the local police to initiate her rehabilitation process back into the mainstream.
"This surrender is the result of sustained and patient efforts by our troops who maintained continuous engagement with the individual over several months. Through consistent counselling and moral support, we helped her understand the futility of violence," said an Assam Rifles official.
