NEIPF Slams UNC Over Threats to Ashang Kasar, Defends Indigenous Day 2025 Event in Manipur

NORTH EAST INDIGENOUS PEOPLE’S FORUM
22 Banphul Path | Hatigaon | Guwahati- 781038 | Assam

Date: 06-08-25
PRESS RELEASE

It is shocking and surprising to learn from local print media that the UNC has openly threatened Mr. Ashang Kasar, President of the Indigenous People's Forum, Manipur Chapter, regarding the observance of World Indigenous Day 2025 in Imphal.

We clarify that the World Indigenous Day 2025 celebration on August 9ᵗʰ is organized by the North-East Indigenous People’s Forum, headquartered in Guwahati, Assam, and the Indigenous People's Forum, Manipur is merely the host for the event in Manipur.

The UNC’s recent objections to the celebration, circulated through social media, have been addressed through a letter clarifying that the event is not a personal matter of Mr. Ashang Kasar or IPFM but a regional celebration for the entire North-East. We find it unacceptable that UNC has dictated the Naga public not to attend without providing any valid reasons to the forum.

We request UNC to clarify their stance and provide reasons for their objections to the North-East Indigenous People’s Forum and the host IPFM.

Ashang Kasar Resigns as IPFM President Amid UNC Objection; Philem Rohan Singh Appointed

Imphal, August 8, 2025: In a significant development ahead of the upcoming World Indigenous Day celebration, Mr. Ashang Kasar has resigned from his post as President of the Indigenous People’s Forum, Manipur (IPFM), citing pressure from the United Naga Council (UNC). His resignation, dated August 7, 2025, comes in response to objections raised by the UNC over the observance of the event in Imphal.

Philem Rohan Singh / Facebook.

In his resignation letter addressed to the Vice-President of IPFM, Mr. Kasar stated, “As a Naga citizen, I am obliged to respect the sentiments and decisions of the apex Naga body.” He further clarified that he would not be participating in the Indigenous Day programme scheduled for August 9, 2025.

Following an emergency meeting of the IPFM Executive Council, Mr. Philem Rohan Singh, the Vice-President, was appointed as the President-in-Charge with immediate effect. An official appointment order issued by IPFM General Secretary Ramtahungbe Newme confirmed the transition of leadership.

In response to the situation, the North East Indigenous People’s Forum (NEIPF) released a press statement from its Guwahati headquarters expressing shock over threats reportedly made to Mr. Kasar. The statement clarified that the celebration is a regional event organized by NEIPF, with IPFM Manipur only serving as the host. NEIPF Chairman Aunp Chetia urged the UNC to clarify its objections and called the move to boycott the event without valid reasons “unacceptable.”

The developments come just days before World Indigenous Day 2025, casting a spotlight on the political sensitivities surrounding the event in Manipur and raising concerns over the intersection of regional autonomy and indigenous solidarity.

TSA Support Thadou–Meitei Covenant of Understanding and Indigenous Unity in Manipur

The Thadou Students’ Association (TSA) extends its sincere appreciation and wholehearted support for the historic covenant of understanding between the Thadou and Meitei communities on August 6, 2025 by the warm reception of the Thadou people in Imphal. This moment is more than symbolic, it is a landmark achievement in the long and painful journey toward truth, recognition, and Indigenous solidarity in Manipur.

TSA has always stood for peace, justice, and the rightful identity of the Thadou people. TSA always fights for the rights of the Thadous, unyielding to any pressure but exerting our rights to the extent of raising voice against the powers that be which has been evident as in the case of Save Tribal Land – Haolenphai issue.

However, during the ongoing crisis in Manipur, our position was misunderstood and misrepresented, both by sections of the Meitei and those people identifying as Kuki in the state. It is important to highlight that there is currently no operational TSA unit in Manipur, owing to threats and intimidation by Kuki supremacist groups. The TSA office at Taloulong was forcibly closed by the village chief on May 2, 2023, a day before the outbreak of conflict, due to his anti-Meitei position and opposition to engagement with the state government. Further, on September 28, 2023, the Kuki militants directly threatened our TSA Sadar Hills leaders with violence, explicitly forbidding them from attending the 66th TSA General Assembly in Guwahati. These acts reflect the grave suppression and persecution faced by the Thadou community from armed Kuki groups and the systematic effort to silence our student body and leadership.

Today, however, marks a turning point. The Meitei community, through Manipur CSOs, student organisations, Ema groups and other civil society leaders, has recognized our pain, understood our distinct Thadou identity that Thadou is not Kuki, and welcomed us back with respect. This act of goodwill and mutual understanding is deeply appreciated by TSA and the entire Thadou community. We thank the Manipur CSOs and Meitei people for their wisdom and courage to distinguish truth from propaganda.

Let this day be the beginning of a new chapter; one where the Indigenous peoples of Manipur walk together, shoulder to shoulder, for peace, dignity, and justice. We acknowledge that there is still a long journey ahead. Healing wounds, correcting narratives, and rebuilding trust will require time and dedication. But today gives us hope. May this be the seed of a stronger, united Manipur, where every Indigenous voice is heard, respected, and protected. May God bless our people and our land.

Meitei Alliance Applauds ‘Road to Peace’ Initiative in Manipur

 The Meitei Alliance
Offices: India and United Kingdom
Motto: Unite and Progress

Ref: 2025/08/08/PR
Date: 08/08/2025

Meitei Alliance Welcomes the ‘Road to Peace’ Initiative Between Manipur’s Civil Society Organisations and Thadou Inpi Manipur

The Meitei Alliance extends heartfelt appreciation to all the civil society organisations—including COCOMI, AMUCO, FOCS, Arambai Tengol, various Ima groups, and student bodies—who, despite significant challenges, came together with Thadou Inpi Manipur (TIM) to organise the historic ‘Road to Peace’ meeting in Imphal. This event marks a major milestone in our collective journey toward unity, justice, and lasting peace.

By safeguarding the enduring spirit of pluralism, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence that has long defined Manipur’s unique social fabric, this initiative reaffirms the rich cultural heritage shared across ethnic lines and the idea of Manipur where communities live together in harmony.

Thadou Inpi Manipur has consistently stood for the preservation and promotion of Manipur as a cohesive, inclusive, and harmonious multi-ethnic society. Their principled commitment on peaceful coexistence of all the communities of Manipur deserves recognition and appreciation.

The Meitei Alliance particularly commend TIM’s support:

  • To maintain the unity and integrity of Manipur

  • To update National Register of Citizens (NRC) to protect and promote the rights of genuine citizens

  • To abrogate the SoO agreements, with KNO and UPF, which have posed serious threats to Manipur’s integrity and its pluralistic society

  • To de-recognise and delete AKT from the ST List

  • To free Manipur from the grip of drugs

  • To rehabilitate and resettle the IDPs to their original places

We urge all stakeholders to support these efforts and the unity they represent. Such initiatives can empower all communities in Manipur—especially smaller ethnic groups—to voice their concerns through justice, mutual respect, and shared unity.

This event serves as a meaningful model for inclusive dialogue, accountability, and rule of law. We respectfully call on all citizens of Manipur to recognise it as a vital step toward restoring the state as a vibrant, secure, and united society for all.

The Meitei Alliance hopes this event will serve as a foundation for many more such much-needed initiatives in the days ahead.

With sincere regards,

Ref. No. 01NFN/L&S/25-07
Date: 07/08/2025
To
Hon’ble Governor of Manipur
Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla,

MEMORANDUM

Subject: Support for the Foothill Naga Coordination Committee (FNCC) demands and protection of Naga rights

Respected Sir,

I have the honour to draw your esteemed attention to the ongoing concerns expressed by the Foothill Naga Coordination Committee (FNCC), an umbrella body representing the collective aspirations of the Naga community. It is with deep respect and urgency that I submit this memorandum to highlight and seek support for their legitimate demands aimed at preserving the rights, dignity, and integrity of the Naga people residing in Manipur.

The FNCC’s principal demands are enumerated below:

  1. Removal of Suspension of Operation (SoO) Camps: FNCC demands the immediate removal of SoO camps established by Kuki militants in Naga-inhabited areas. These camps have been a source of insecurity and disruption in the social fabric of Naga villages, affecting daily life and safety.

  2. Opposition to Construction of Tiger or German Road without Consent: FNCC objects to any such construction within Naga territories without free, prior, and informed consent of affected Naga communities. Such projects, if unilateral, threaten customary rights, ancestral lands, and ecological balance.

  3. Ban on Poppy Cultivation in Naga Areas: FNCC calls for a complete ban on poppy cultivation within Naga areas, citing health, socio-economic, and law-and-order risks, which destabilise peaceful coexistence.

  4. Opposition to Creation of Separate Administration: FNCC strongly opposes moves to create a separate administrative setup that could divide or fragment the Naga community in Manipur, harming unity, identity, and collective progress.

In view of the above, it is earnestly requested that your esteemed office take cognizance of these demands and facilitate meaningful and inclusive dialogue between the FNCC, the State Government, and other stakeholders to find mutually agreeable solutions.

Your leadership and intervention in this matter will be instrumental in fostering goodwill and ensuring lasting peace and progress in Manipur.

I trust that due consideration will be given to this memorandum, and I remain hopeful for a positive response.

Yours faithfully,

Kuki Khangthah Kiloikhom Supports Economic Blockade Against FNCC Actions

Songpi, Kukiland | August 8, 2025 – The Kuki Khangthah Kiloikhom (KKK) has expressed its full and unwavering support for the Economic Blockade declared by the Working Committee Kuki CSO in Kanggui, Kukiland. The move comes in direct response to what the organisation describes as “inhumane and unjust” actions by the FNCC, whose recent bandh has allegedly obstructed the free movement of Kuki people.

In its official statement, the KKK condemned the blockade by FNCC as a deliberate attempt to violate the rights, dignity, and freedoms of the Kuki community. The group emphasised that such acts amount to a blatant breach of fundamental human rights.

“We stand united in condemning these discriminatory acts and affirm our commitment to protect the rights and welfare of our people,” the statement read. KKK further called upon all Kuki citizens, civil society organisations, and well-wishers to join in solidarity and lend their voices to the cause.

The Economic Blockade, as declared by the Working Committee Kuki CSO, aims to protest against the restrictions and ensure the protection of the community’s freedoms. KKK’s support adds significant weight to the movement, signalling a strong collective stand from Kuki organisations.

Kuki Inpi Rejects Thadou Inpi Manipur’s Peace Talk Claims | Press Release

KUKI INPI MANIPUR
(Apex body of the Kuki Tribes)
Administrative Centre: Lamka – 795128

PRESS RELEASE
KIM Secretariat, the 8th August 2025

04/KIM/PR/21-99: On the matter of the visit of a 17-member delegation claiming to represent the Thadou Inpi Manipur (TIM) to Imphal on 6th August 2025—reportedly to engage in "peace talks" with various Meitei Civil Society Organisations (CSOs)—the Kuki Inpi, in alignment with the Thadou Inpi General Headquarters, the apex body of the Thadou tribes, issues the following clarification and reminder to all concerned parties, pursuant to Notice No. PR/03/25 dated 07/08/2025, which declares the illegitimacy of the so-called Thadou Inpi Manipur to represent the Thadou tribes in Manipur.

In accordance with the resolutions adopted:

  1. Inpi Proclamation No. 2, dated 3rd July 2023, KIC Complex, Lamka,

  2. Delhi Conclave Declaration No. 1, dated 16th October 2023, and

  3. Shillong Summit Resolution No. 1, held from 14th to 17th August 2024

The Kuki Inpi unequivocally reiterates that Thadou Inpi Manipur and any individuals or entities claiming to represent the Kuki people without the mandate of the legitimate Kuki leadership are hereby declared:

  1. Ostracised from the Kuki community, and

  2. Enemies of the Kuki people, for undermining the collective struggle and aspirations of the community.

TIM and its leadership, who have publicly disassociated themselves from the broader Kuki identity and consistently claim not to be Kukis, lack any legitimacy or moral authority to negotiate peace or represent the interests of the Kuki people in the ongoing Kuki–Meitei conflict.

The timing and nature of the visit, under the guise of "peace talks," raise serious questions. While the Kuki people continue to suffer—displaced, persecuted, and denied justice, attempts at unauthorised dialogue only serve to dilute the gravity of the injustices endured and fracture the unity required for a just resolution.

Peace cannot be built on exclusion, misrepresentation, or betrayal. Any genuine dialogue must involve authentic, community-mandated representatives and address the historical and recent injustices faced by the Kukis, including mass displacement, targeted violence, and systemic marginalisation.

The Kuki Inpi calls upon all stakeholders—local, national, and international—to recognise the authentic voice of the Kuki people and to reject any attempt by fringe elements to hijack or distort the community’s demands for justice, safety, and security.

Bangladesh Army’s Costly War on KNA: Why Political Dialogue Is the Only Solution

It seems that the massive amount of money the Bangladesh Army and government forces are wasting to destroy the Kuki-Chin National Army (KNA) could have been far more helpful if it had been distributed among innocent Bawm villagers. At the very least, those who can no longer do their jhum cultivation or daily work due to army torture, or those who have fled to the jungle to escape, would at least have food to survive.

In the same way politicians distribute money during election campaigns, the army is now using cash to recruit spies against KNA. Such state tactics are seen as childish strategies by the well-organized leadership of KNF. This was a counter-insurgency method used in the 1970s separatist movements, which is outdated today. Any military expert who thinks KNF can be eliminated through such methods is living in a fool's paradise. KNF can only be brought back to normal life through political solutions. Otherwise, the group will continue to grow stronger and more intense.

Currently, KNF's military wing is much stronger and more organized than ever before. They are already training with drones and short- and long-range missiles in various areas. To destroy enemy bases, one must be prepared — this is a basic and essential strategy of any armed force.

The people the army is now using — those who are being "bought" with large sums of money — are like amphibians; they operate in both water and land. Every step the army takes against KNF, every action, is reported to the KNF Media Wing within minutes. The army’s operations have become laughable.

Although the army or ISPR may not have the record, KNF has full data on how many operations have been carried out against them, how many crores have been wasted, and how many army personnel have been killed or injured. That’s not to say KNF has suffered no losses — some KNF cadres have been killed, and many temporary camps, including headquarters, have been abandoned. But one thing should be clear: insurgent forces do not maintain permanent camps or fixed locations. Like the ticking of a clock, they shift directions and hide in the most strategic places. This is a key tactic of revolutionary soldiers and guerrilla warfare.

We’ve also heard that the Bandarban Region Commander, Brigadier General S.M. Rakib Ibne Rezwan (PSC, NDC) of the 69 Infantry Brigade, has reportedly told senior officers that he will eliminate KNF and resolve its issues socially. It’s said that he is a specially trained commando, with dragon-tiger and eagle head insignias all over his uniform. We’re not mocking his rank or training — rather, we respect him as a proud military officer of the country.

However, what surprised us is his belief that the KNF issue can be resolved socially without political dialogue, or that he can destroy KNF through military operations. Who advised him on this? Comparing KNF with ten other organizations would be misleading. KNF is not a floating group — it’s an organization fighting for its identity and self-determination.

Hundreds of people from the Kuki-Chin communities — including Bawm, Lusai, and Khumi — have been forced to flee to other countries. Hundreds from the Bawm and Khumi communities have been imprisoned without cause. Innocent villagers have been shot dead in broad daylight, children have been labeled KNF and thrown into jail, a fifth-grade boy was shot dead in front of his mother, and even a pregnant woman was raped. How will the Brigadier Sir evaluate these incidents? Will he resolve them “socially”? Can he bring those innocent lives back?

KNF’s demands are not beyond social norms, nor are they unconstitutional or illegal. If the government believes our demands are unconstitutional or unjustified, then come to the table and resolve it politically. Otherwise, KNF will continue its activities.

Media Ethics in Conflict: A Counter to Imphal Times Editorial

Counter Statement by KHALVONTAWI NEWS (Voice of the Voiceless)

In response to Imphal Times’ editorial: “Hypocrisy in Protest – WCKCSOs must uphold principles of fairness and justice”

Media Must Inform, Not Inflame
The Imphal Times’ editorial, while couched in the language of fairness and justice, regrettably veers into a partisan critique that undermines the very principles it claims to uphold. By targeting the Working Committee of Kuki Civil Society Organisations (WCKCSOs) for alleged hypocrisy, the editorial not only misrepresents the intent behind their protest but also fails to meet the ethical standards expected of responsible journalism.

Media Ethics and the Duty of Balance
At the heart of media ethics lies a commitment to impartiality, accuracy, and contextual sensitivity. Newspapers are not tribunals; they are platforms for public discourse. When a daily publication takes sides—especially in a conflict as layered and volatile as the one in Manipur—it risks becoming a participant rather than a chronicler. The Imphal Times editorial, by framing WCKCSOs’ demands as selective and opportunistic, disregards the historical and humanitarian dimensions of their plea. This is not just editorial bias—it is editorial blindness.

The Kuki-Zo community’s call for lifting travel restrictions is not a political maneuver; it is a survival imperative. The blockade of National Highways and restricted mobility have real-world consequences: delayed medical aid, disrupted education, and economic strangulation. To dismiss these concerns as hypocritical is to trivialize suffering.

Context Matters: History, Marginalization, and Civil Advocacy
The editorial’s failure to acknowledge the systemic marginalization of the Kuki-Zo people is a glaring omission. Civil society organizations like WCKCSOs exist precisely because mainstream institutions have historically failed to protect minority rights. Their advocacy is not selective—it is strategic, born out of necessity and resilience. To demand that they simultaneously champion every community’s cause is to dilute their focus and ignore the lived realities of their constituents.

Moreover, the editorial’s comparison with Meitei-majority grievances, while valid in its own right, should not be used to delegitimize another community’s struggle. Equity does not mean uniformity; it means recognizing and responding to specific injustices with appropriate urgency.

The Role of Media in Conflict Zones
In regions fraught with ethnic tension, the media must tread carefully. It must amplify voices without echoing prejudices. It must critique power without punching down. The Imphal Times, by choosing to editorialize against WCKCSOs without engaging with their representatives or contextualizing their demands, has failed this test.

KHALVONTAWI NEWS stands for the voiceless—not just in rhetoric, but in practice. We believe that journalism must illuminate, not obscure; it must bridge divides, not deepen them. Our response is not a rebuttal for rebuttal’s sake—it is a call for introspection within the media fraternity.

Journalism as a Public Trust
The Imphal Times’ editorial, while invoking fairness, ironically exemplifies the very imbalance it critiques. Media houses must remember that their words carry weight, especially in fragile contexts. To editorialize without empathy is to editorialize without ethics.

We urge our fellow journalists to uphold the sanctity of the press—not by taking sides, but by giving space to all sides. Only then can we truly be the voice of the voiceless.

Thadou Inpi leaders claims unjust detention at hotel

Imphal, Aug 7: Thadou Inpi Manipur delegates on Wednesday claimed they have been unjustly detained at the hotel they were staying and prevented from movement to a nearby venue.

A statement issued by TIM said "Thadou delegates were forcibly confined at The Classic Hotel Imphal. The government of India under President's Rule in Manipur blocked their movement to a nearby venue, for reasons that appear politically motivated. This restriction is a clear violation of fundamental rights to life, liberty and free movement ans suggests a distrubing attempt to appease extremist elements that oppose peace and indigenous unity in Manipur."

Clarifying that Thadou people are not involved in political negotiations with GoI and Kuki/  SoO militant groups, TIM also urged the government to lift all restrictions and allow free movement of TIM delegates.

Thadou Leaders Under House Arrest After Peace Meeting in Imphal

Imphal, August 7, 2025: Sixteen Thadou leaders who participated in a peace meeting with Meitei civil society organizations (CSOs) on Wednesday were reportedly placed under house arrest today at Hotel Classic, Imphal. The order is said to have come from the Home Ministry Affairs (HMA). The motive behind this sudden move remains unclear and is still awaiting official confirmation.

As the leaders were being escorted to the airport, a mob reportedly intercepted the convoy of Thadou Innpi Manipur (TIM) delegates. This shocking development prompted leaders of the Federation of Nationalist Civil Society Organisations (FNCC) and the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (CoCOMI) to rush to the location.

However, upon their arrival, they too were placed under house arrest by the authorities.

According to unverified sources, the TIM delegates are currently being held in an undisclosed location. Their exact condition and whereabouts are yet to be confirmed.

Pics via social media.

While The Morning Bell reported that Thadou Inpi Manipur delegates on Wednesday claimed they were unjustly detained at the hotel where they were staying and prevented from moving to a nearby venue,
the report quoted:

“Thadou delegates were forcibly confined at The Classic Hotel, Imphal. The Government of India, under President's Rule in Manipur, blocked their movement to a nearby venue for reasons that appear politically motivated. This restriction is a clear violation of the fundamental rights to life, liberty, and free movement, and suggests a disturbing attempt to appease extremist elements that oppose peace and indigenous unity in Manipur.”

This incident has sparked fresh concerns over the fragile state of peace-building efforts in Manipur and the security of community leaders engaged in dialogue.

The situation is still developing, and details are subject to verification.

A Brief Note on Michale Lamjathang Haokip: The Meir Dagan of the Kuki Zo people

Mr. Michael Lamjathang Haokip is a Kuki Zo patriot whose great grandfather fought the Britishers valiantly during the famous 1917-1919 Anglo Kuki War @Kuki Uprising. He would give his life for his people. Apart from what all he had done for his people in Henglep Subdivision in Churachandpur where he spent his early days, his role in the current KukiZo-Meitei conflict is nothing sort of a Mossad like agent (Israeli top secret service), a double/covert agent to be precise. He set up a Mossad like team christened "TIM (Thadou Innpi Manipur)" apparently antagonising the parent body "TTC (Thadou Tribe Council)" publicly, but on the inside, they are hands in gloves, conducting secret online meeting routinely.

He was a devout christian and a church youth leader till not long ago, a gifted man with great convincing power who can win the trust of anybody he choses. The trust the meitei leaders and the Ex-CM himself put on him is an undeniable proof.

It is no secret to all Kuki Zo intellectuals that Michael Lamjathang is the one who extracted the infamous video of the two Kuki Zo women paraded naked on 4th May, 2023 from a trusted meitei friend with few bucks and uploaded the same on July 19, 2023 to the national media houses from his hide-out in Assam (please note internet was banned in Manipur those days), he hit the jackpot, the monsoon parliament session was shakened and the ruling NDA blamed it as the act of the Opposition parties' to sabotage the smooth flow of the  Parliament session. But little do they know that it was none but their BJP Manipur Spokeperson@Michael LJT who was behind this all the while.

Michael, a close aide of the Ex-CM in good time past i.e., pre-3rd May, 2023 extracted informations about CM plans to start and orchestrate the current conflict, analysed them carefully and conveyed reliable informations to TTC (Thadou Tribe Council) who in turned prepared their men secretly for the inevitable and so the Kuki Zos were not taken by surprise when the meiteis' pre-meditated and pre-planned attacks happened on May 3. The KukiZos were a Get Set Go to put up a tough and stiff resistance against the meiteis all out onslaughts. The result holds a reliable testament, the number of meitei men dying at the battle fields is scores more than those of the Kuki Zo warriors.

If it were not for the smart act of Mr Michael Lamjathang, there was literally no way the audio-record of the Ex-CM would reach the table of the KukiZos costing the CM himself to lose his seat, never to be back on the throne in his present life time, simply because there is just too much innocent blood already in his hands, more of the meities than of  the KukiZos.

Michael's latest move-venturing into Imphal on 6th August:-
Knowing that he had time and again won the trust of the meitei leaders who are now terribly desperate to end this conflict by hook or crook, he has garnered the courage to venture into Imphal town, which all the KukiZo people including himself  consider it *"The valley of death and bloodshed*". As anyone can guess, he and his team were accorded a warm welcome and reception all though they very well know in their hearts that Michael and team TIM is officially non-existent and that they represent  nobody but themselves and what they say or do is not binding, only to expose once again how Mr. Athouba and team COCOMI are just noisy weaklings desperate to try their luck on anything that moves.

The big Qs remains:
"How have the meiteis achieve so little and lost so much in this conflict inspite of having all the resources any community would require to win a minority as KukiZos? In fact they have exposed their dark side and the unthinkable inhuman  atrocities they have committed will never be forgotten and will be  re-visited time and again till the end of time". By the way, no.6 is Michael's favorite football jersey number, actually his lucky number.

The answer is simple :
"There are moles within them easily selling out secret informations to Michael@TIM at few lakhs rupees."
And that is also how the KukiZo volunteers knew every move of the ATs from the moment it was planned.

And to wholeheartedly welcome Michael and team TIM in Imphal is again nothing sort of the Jordanians according a warm welcome to Israeli forces into their city mistaking them for their Allied Syrian forces, only to be struck from the inside and lose in the 1967  famous Israel 6 days War.

Having said all these, the  last but not the least to ponder is "If the meitei leaders are not a bunch of brainless egoistic morons, what else can they be?"

All these being true, Michael Lamjathang is truly the "Meir Dagan" of the Kuki Zo people, losing a man of valour untimely will indeed cost much!!

Rejoinder to WKZIC & Working Committee Kuki CSOs by Foothills Naga Coordination Committee

OFFICE OF THE
 FOOTHILLS NAGA CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE (FNCC)
IMPHAL, MANIPUR - 795001

 Date : 07/08/2025

It is imperative to underscore that the ongoing bandh in the foothills region of Naga inhabited areas is not aimed at the Zomi or Hmar-Lushai (Mizo) communities , with whom the Naga people have shared generations of mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence. Our history together speaks of cooperation, not conflict, and that legacy remains intact .

However, this bandh is a direct and unequivocal response to the aggressive, unchecked, and calculated actions of Kuki expansionist forces, particularly those operating under the banner of the so-called WKZIC and Working Committee Kuki CSOs. These groups have chosen the path of provocation, territorial encroachment, and political manipulation, endangering the fragile peace of the region.

Let us be clear: you cannot talk Article 21 of the Indian Constitution or the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, after having brazenly held the entire state of Manipur to ransom for over 27 months by blockading National Highways, disrupting essential supplies, and pushing millions to the edge. Your actions were nothing short of economic terrorism, and you have absolutely no moral or legal ground to now preach about human rights or civil liberties. Do not feign victimhood while being the perpetrator of regional instability.

If the Working Committee, Kuki CSOs blocks NH-2 or engages in any attempt to disrupt the movement of goods and people, every avenue of Naga-inhabited areas will be sealed off to Kuki movement without exception. This includes NH-2, NH-37, and will extend to Peren District of Nagaland and the NC Hills of Assam as well.

Let it be known : the Working Committee Kuki CSO alone will be held solely responsible for any fallout that arises from their provocations.
