Tragically, over 80 Kukis sacrificed their lives for the state of Mizoram. In addition, more than 10 Kuki villages were burnt to ashes during the movement.
More than 30 years have passed since Mizoram was granted statehood, yet the Mizoram government has regrettably forgotten the freedom fighters who joined the movement, the martyrs, and the homes reduced to ashes - specially their brethren Kukis from Manipur.
The very foundation of Mizoram was also built upon the blood of your brethen Kuki from Manipur. So today, my Mizo brothers, should not try to put the Kuki people under the term 'Zo', a derivative of 'Mizo'. This dirty political maneuver threatens to erase our ancestral legacy, the British map of Kuki Country.
As the colonial British recognized the tribals in northeast India, western Myanmar, and the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh as Kukis in 1720s, the United Nations also acknowledged the Kuki nation and the British map of Kuki country since 1904.
We are brothers in blood and in Christ. Let us not fight for supremacy between brothers, but love each other and unite under the banner of Kuki. Together, we can reclaim and restore our rightful heritage - the highly anticipated Kuki country.

Thadou Inpi Manipur extends its warmest greetings and best wishes to the newly established Thadou Christian Fellowship Church (TCFC), Shillong.
After a long overdue period, the formation of the Thadou church in Shillong marks a significant step in uniting the Thadou Christian community under a shared spiritual and cultural platform. Pu T. Thadou was earlier elected as the Interim Convenor, supported by four members, to guide the church in its foundational phase on 24th August 2025. The formal inaugural function will be held tomorrow, 21st September 2025.
We encourage the Thadou community to support TCFC, Shillong, and join hands in fostering spiritual growth, unity, and cultural harmony. We congratulate all members of TCFC and pray for the success of this noble initiative.

Thantlang Exodus Remembered After Four Years
Today, September 21, 2025, marks the fourth anniversary of the final departure from Thantlang town in East Lairam. Thantlang was last evacuated on September 21, 2021. Pu Ram Khar presented the situation of Thantlang refugees during these four years.
“In Thantlang town, we lived with about 10,400 people and had over 2,000 houses. There were over 2,200 households. We fled to 43 villages in Delhi, India, and Mizoram State. We also fled to 87 villages within Thantlang Township, and 136 villages in total within the country and two other countries, including Yangon, Mandalay, Kalay, and Hakha.
During the four years from September 21, 2021, to September 21, 2024, 212 of our mothers and fathers died during the period of our displacement. We buried our dead in 13 villages in Mizoram State, India, and 44 villages within the country. In Hakha town, 28 Thantlang refugees have passed away. Hakha town is also the place where the most Thantlang refugees sought refuge. As of September 21, 2025, about 800 Thantlang refugees are taking shelter in Hakha,” he explained.
Today, September 21, 2025, in the afternoon, Thantlang refugees residing in Hakha held a prayer meeting at IBC Church to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the Thantlang Exodus.

Ccpur Candlelight Vigil for Martyred Assam Rifles
Lamka, Sept. 20 — A candlelight vigil was held in Churachandpur on Saturday night in solidarity with the two Assam Rifles jawans who were killed and the five others who sustained injuries in an ambush at Nambol, Manipur, on Friday evening, 19 September 2025. The attack was carried out by suspected Meitei militants.
Members of the Kuki-Zomi-Hmar community gathered in large numbers, holding candles and offering prayers for the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation. The vigil was marked by peace and solemnity, as participants called for justice and demanded that the perpetrators be held accountable.
Speaking at the event, community leaders condemned the violence and expressed deep grief over the loss of lives. They urged the government to take strict action, ensuring that the killers are brought to justice without delay.
The gathering also reaffirmed solidarity with the armed forces and honored the courage and dedication of the jawans who laid down their lives for Mother India.
In the ambush at Nambol, Manipur, on Friday evening, 19 September 2025, two Assam Rifles personnel lost their lives and five others sustained injuries.
