Lamka, Feb 15, 2026: Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), the apex body of the Kuki tribes, has extended warm greetings to all communities on the occasion of Lui-Ngai-Ni, the seed-sowing festival celebrated across the region.
In a greeting message issued by CH. Ajang Khongsai, President of Kuki Inpi Manipur in February 14, the organisation conveyed its sincere wishes for blessings, good health, peace, and prosperity to every family and community celebrating the festival.
The statement highlighted the importance of nurturing understanding and harmony among communities, noting that relationships require care and mutual respect. KIM appealed to people to choose peace, patience, and cooperation, emphasizing that the Nagas and Kukis have shared the land for generations and that the future depends on unity and understanding.
The organisation also urged everyone to ensure safe, free, and peaceful movement of people during the celebrations, stressing that no individual should face fear or difficulty while participating in the festival.
Referring to Christian values, the message encouraged people to be guided by love, forgiveness, and reconciliation. KIM expressed hope that Lui-Ngai-Ni would strengthen unity, goodwill, and lasting peace among all communities.
Lamka, Feb 15, 2026: The Zomi Council welcomed and greeted Shri L. Dikho, the Deputy Chief Minister, during his maiden visit to the Zomi Council Office in Lamka town on his way to grace the final match of the Zomi Nam Ni Football Tournament on February 14. The interaction was brief but meaningful, and both sides exchanged views on current issues in a positive manner.
During the meeting, they spoke about the importance of maintaining peace and stability, considering the fluid situation in Manipur. They also discussed the need for better infrastructure in the hill areas, especially improving the education scenario and supporting long-term development. The plight of tribal IDPs who have not yet received relief and rehabilitation schemes was also discussed.
Lamka, Feb 14, 2026: The Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF) has strongly condemned an attack on the residence of its spokesperson, Ginza Vualzong, in D. Phailien, Lamka, calling the incident a grave threat to personal safety and community unity.
According to an ITLF public appeal issued jointly by ITLF Chairman Letpu Haokip and General Secretary Elder Dr. Thangsuolien Sinate on Saturday, unidentified miscreants pelted stones at Vualzong's residence at around 1:00 am on Friday night before fleeing the scene. The forum stated that the incident was part of continued threats and acts of intimidation directed at Vualzong and his family, terming such actions "deeply alarming and wholly unacceptable."
ITLF said the attack not only endangered an individual household but also undermined the unity, integrity, and collective cause of the Kuki-Zo people. Vualzong, who is also a spokesperson of the Kuki-Zo Council (KZC), has been a prominent voice in the people's movement since May 3, 2023, advocating democratic aspirations for a Separate Administration in the form of a Union Territory with legislature.
"Any attempt to target him is an attack on the collective voice and shared struggle of the Kuki-Zo people," the statement said, adding that his work has been dedicated to welfare, justice, and the political future of the community without malice toward any other tribal group.
The forum issued a strong appeal to the public to set aside personal differences and internal grievances, warning that personal vendettas and intimidation have no place in a people's movement founded on sacrifice, unity, and justice.
"At this critical juncture, we urge all sections of society to exercise restraint, wisdom, and a heightened sense of collective responsibility," ITLF said, cautioning against internal divisions that could weaken common purpose.
Tulips bloom gently along the Embassy Line in New Delhi, painting the morning with quiet joy.
Their red and white petals sway softly, as if welcoming every passer-by with warmth.
On Valentine’s Day, the garden feels alive with love, laughter, and calm footsteps.
Each flower tells a simple story — beauty does not shout, it simply blossoms.
Walking among them feels like pausing time for a peaceful breath.
