JDU MLA Abdul Nasir Calls on Bihar CM Nitish Kumar to Discuss Manipur Political Developments

Patna (Bihar), Feb 16, 2026: Janata Dal (United) MLA from Manipur, Mohd. Abdul Nasir along with Khamlianlal @Khams Zotal, Vice President, JD(U) Manipur State Unit paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Minister of Bihar and National President of JDU, Shri Nitish Kumar, on Friday at the Chief Minister’s official residence in Patna.

The meeting, which lasted for approximately 15 minutes, took place during the ongoing Bihar Assembly Session. JDU’s North East In-Charge, Shri Afaq Ahmed Khan, National Spokesperson, Ranjeev Ranjan Prasad, was also present during the discussion.

Nitish Kumar also scheduled a meeting with JDU National Working President Shri Sanjay Jha to continue discussions on issues concerning Manipur.

The meeting focused on the recent political developments in Manipur and the party’s future strategy in the state. The leaders held detailed discussions on the evolving situation and the steps JDU may consider in response to the changing political landscape.

It may be recalled that following the imposition of President’s Rule in Manipur and subsequent government formation efforts, ministerial positions have been allotted among NDA partners. However, JDU has reportedly not yet been given representation.

This meeting is being viewed as significant amid ongoing political shifts in Manipur, particularly after five of the six JDU MLAs joined the BJP. Observers are closely watching MLA Abdul Nasir’s position and its potential implications for the formation of a new political arrangement in the state.

Thangkhal Christians Gather for Prayer at Kulhvum Hill

For the Thangkhal Christians today, Kulhvum is regarded as a sacred prayer hill. In earlier times, it was known mainly as a hunting ground for the Thangkhal people living in the Mulam Hills. During those days, many in the community were unfamiliar with the Gospel and followed Lawki, their traditional belief system. Hunting, jhum cultivation, growing vegetables, herding cattle, and joyful community gatherings were a normal part of daily life.

Over the years, great spiritual change took place, and today the entire Thangkhal community has embraced Christianity. Because of this transformation, the people now climb Kulhvum every year for fasting and prayer, turning a former hunting ground into a place of faith and worship.

This year, on 14 February 2026, the prayer gathering was organised by the Central Youth Department of Thangkhal Baptist Church (ABA). Many believers participated with deep devotion, spending time in prayer and fellowship.

Those who attended shared that the gathering brought them peace and renewal. They returned feeling refreshed — mentally, physically, and spiritually — as they continued to strengthen their faith together as one community.
