FRANCE marched confidently into the Round of 16 with an impressive 3-0 victory over SWEDEN at New York New Jersey Stadium on 30 June 2026. The French took control from the opening stages and were rewarded just before half-time when Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring in the 45th minute with a composed finish. Sweden struggled to contain France's pace and movement after the break, and Bradley Barcola doubled the lead in the 53rd minute with a clinical strike. Mbappé completed the scoring in the 74th minute, finishing another well-worked move to secure an impressive 3-0 victory for France.

FRANCE dominated possession throughout the contest and created numerous chances with their quick passing and attacking flair. Sweden defended bravely and had moments going forward but found it difficult to break through the disciplined French back line. Goalkeeper Mike Maignan was rarely troubled, while Mbappé, Kolo Muani and Dembélé constantly stretched the Swedish defence.
