Paite Tribe Council Opposes Misuse of Paite Puandum
GENERAL HEADQUARTERS: HIANGTAM LAMKA
LAMKA - 795128 MANIPUR
Paite is one of the tribes that make up the Zomi Ethnic Group; hence, the need does not arise for Paites and Paite organizations to be represented at any of the Kuki organizations, whether it is the Kuki Inpi, the Kuki Students’ Organization, the Kuki Zo Council or the Working Committee Kuki CSOs.
In the interest of maintaining the much-needed mutual respect and understanding between the various communities in these trying times, we sincerely request the above-mentioned Kuki organizations to remove the Paite Puandum from their respective official letterheads, and call upon other such non-Paite and non-Zomi organizations to refrain from using the Paite Puandum or various representations of the Paite tribe including our traditional shawls without the consent of the PTC GHQ.

Bolero Accident in Ngoiphai Thangkhal Village
A Bolero met with an accident this morning in Ngoiphai, a Thangkhal village along the Singngat line (Tedim Road).
Thankfully, no lives were lost. However, it is shocking that such an accident occurred on a plain stretch of road — a clear sign of careless driving. Drivers must remember that passenger safety is their highest responsibility, and negligence can put many lives at risk.
Tedim Road is a busy and vital lifeline for the people of Lamka, and every driver must exercise extra caution to avoid endangering both passengers and the public.

Thadous of Assam Reaffirm Commitment to Manipur’s Unity and Peace
Guwahati, the 14th August, 2025
Thadous of Assam Reaffirm Commitment to Manipur's Unity and Peace
The Thadous of Assam, from the Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong districts, proudly reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the unity and integrity of Manipur. Assam and Manipur have shared a peaceful border for generations, bound by mutual respect and shared indigenous heritage.
On August 6, 2025, representatives from Thadou Inpi Assam, along with leaders from both Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong, attended the historic Thadou Inpi Manipur-Manipur CSOs Covenant of Understanding. This landmark event, part of the "Road to Peace" meeting in Imphal, proved that genuine dialogue can overcome even the most difficult challenges.
We state this clearly: Thadous are not Kuki. We seek rightful acknowledgment of our distinct identity. We are indigenous people of both Assam and Manipur, with deep historical ties to these lands.
The Thadou people have a rich and well-documented history in both Manipur and Assam. In Manipur, our chiefs bravely protected the kingdom's freedom, and our commitment to the state's integrity under the Indian Union remains steadfast. The distinct Thadou identity has been consistently recognized in every Indian census for Manipur since 1881. Similarly, Thadous in Assam have a proud history, which includes the establishment of the Thadou Mazaudar institution as early as 1886, which is still active under the Assam state government.
Despite attempts by certain Kuki supremacist groups to undermine our position and distinct Thadou identity, we will not waver. Our commitment to indigenous unity and peaceful coexistence in both Assam and Manipur is absolute.
We stand in full solidarity with the Thadou Inpi Manipur's "Road to Peace" initiative. We thank the Manipur CSOs for their openness and for embracing the Thadou people as an indigenous community of Manipur.
The Thadous of Assam will remain steadfast, united in our purpose to protect the dignity and future of our people and respect the unity and integrity of Manipur.

GoDaddy Domain Search Risk: Why You Should Avoid Repeated Checks
WHEN you come up with a perfect brand name, the first instinct is to check if the domain is available. For many, that means heading straight to GoDaddy — one of the most well-known domain registrars in the world. But here’s the problem: GoDaddy is not always trustworthy when it comes to domain name searches.
Many users have reported the same experience: a domain appears available when they first check it, but after searching for it multiple times over a few days, it suddenly shows as “taken” — and sometimes, it reappears as a premium domain with a much higher price tag.
This suspicious behaviour is often linked to a practice known as domain front-running.
What is Domain Front-Running?
Domain front-running happens when someone (or some system) uses the information from your search to register the domain themselves before you have the chance — often with the intention of reselling it back to you at a higher price.
While GoDaddy denies directly doing this, the repeated pattern experienced by many customers suggests that search data might be getting logged and acted upon by third parties, partners, or automated bots. The end result? Your once-available name is no longer yours to grab at the standard price.
A Real-Life Example
I personally checked five different names on GoDaddy, each showing as available the first time. I didn’t purchase them immediately because I wanted to think it over. Over the next few days, I checked the same names several times — and every single one of them eventually appeared as “taken.”
This wasn’t a coincidence. It’s a clear warning sign: do not repeatedly check the same name on GoDaddy if you aren’t ready to buy it instantly.
Why You Should Avoid Using GoDaddy for Domain Searches
1. Search Tracking: Your searches aren’t private. When you search on GoDaddy, that information is logged.
2. Sudden Availability Changes: Names can shift from “available” to “taken” overnight — sometimes only to be sold back at a premium price.
3. Possible Front-Running: Whether through partners, bots, or investors, repeated searches can trigger someone else to grab the name first.
The safest approach is to treat GoDaddy as a last resort for purchase, not for initial name exploration.
Safer Alternatives for Domain Searches
To avoid losing your dream domain name, follow these steps:
Use independent WHOIS tools such as whois.com or whois.domaintools.com to check availability.
Try privacy-friendly registrars like Namecheap, Porkbun, or Dynadot that don’t have a history of suspicious availability changes.
Use Instant Domain Search (instantdomainsearch.com) to quickly check without creating an account.
Buy Immediately: If you see an available name you want, secure it right away instead of checking multiple times.
A domain name is one of the most valuable assets for your brand, and losing it because of repeated searches can be frustrating and expensive. My experience — and that of many others — shows that GoDaddy is not the safest place to search for domains, especially if you check the same names repeatedly.
If you value your brand, avoid using GoDaddy for initial name searches. Use trusted, privacy-focused alternatives, and secure your domain the moment you see it’s available.
Your dream name shouldn’t slip away because of search tracking or possible front-running. In the fast-moving world of domain registration, speed and privacy are your best protection.

Naga Independence Day Speech: Th Muivah
SPEECH OF MR. TH. MUIVAH, CHIEF POLITICAL NEGOTIATOR AND GENERAL SECRETARY/ATO KILONSER, NATIONAL SOCIALIST COUNCIL OF NAGALIM (NSCN)/GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF NAGALIM (GPRN), ON THE OCCASION OF THE 79th NAGA INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT COUNCIL HEADQUARTERS, HEBRON 14th AUGUST, 2025
Countrymen!
Let us give glory to our Almighty God for sustaining the Naga nation and giving us the courage to assert our political rights as a nation. The brutal truth of history is painful to us as we commemorate the 79th Naga Independence Day on this day, 14th August, 2025. We are being oppressed and suppressed by the invading nations, India and Burma (Myanmar). Nagalim declared independence one day ahead of India and tomorrow India is celebrating her 79th Independence Day. This is the brutal truth of history. The painful irony is that we have to fight for the historical and political rights that have touched 79 years today.
Countrymen!
The indelible records of history mentioned how the political suppression of the Nagas started in the most inhuman manner under the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. He abhorred the very idea of Naga people's political assertion to exist as an independent sovereign nation. To achieve his aggressive control of Naga political movement he blatantly introduced the draconian act, Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), 1958 to suppress the political rights of the Naga nation. The world condemned this draconian act but Government of India (Gol) had been defiant throughout. Today and yesterday, Naga people have proved J. Nehru wrong in crushing the Nagas' right to live as a sovereign independent nation. Let us thank God for giving us the enduring patience and strength to maintain our position as upright people in defending our sovereign identity.
Countrymen!
Today as we commemorate the 79th Anniversary of Naga Independence Day let us recall how the ongoing Indo-Naga Political Talks started. This happened on account of the realization and recognition of the Indo-Naga conflict as a political conflict. The credit for this honesty of admitting the historical truth is the then Prime Minister of India, PV Narasimha Rao. It was on 12th June, 1995, in Paris (France) when he told the NSCN leadership, "I believe in political solution. We must solve through political talks". This statement was a turning point as NSCN leadership took note of his approach as the unfolding development showed up. Eventually, ceasefire between the NSCN and Government of India was declared on July 25, 1997 to pave the way for political talks. Finally, the formal talks started on 1st August, 1997, based on the following principles:
(1) The talks would be unconditional;
(2) That the talks would be at the highest level, that is, at the Prime Ministerial level;
(3) That the talks would be somewhere outside India in a third country.
Countrymen!
I have to point out the brutal truth of Indo-Naga Political Talks that has crossed 600 rounds held in a third and neutral country, in India and in Nagalim. Let us remind ourselves that the military confrontation with India and Burma (Myanmar) was provoked because Nagalim nationalism was treated as "secessionist" and Nagas were blamed for disturbing the "law and order" of India and Burma (Myanmar), thereby posing a threat to their national security. However, with the signing of the Amsterdam Joint Communique of July 11, 2002, and the Framework Agreement of August 3, 2015 in the current political peace process, the Gol recognized and rectified the contentious issues on Nagalim history and sovereignty and expressing regret over the misunderstanding, recognized and acknowledged the "unique history and position" of the Nagas and accept that sovereignty lies with the people and agreed on the sharing of "sovereign power". In the Framework Agreement of 3rd August, 2015, both the parties mutually agreed that "an enduring inclusive new relationship of peaceful co-existence of two entities" can be realized by honoring the letter and spirit of the Amsterdam Joint Communique of July 11, 2002 and the Framework Agreement of 3rd August, 2015.
Countrymen!
Let us understand that the labor and efforts invested in the Indo-Naga political negotiation has led to the signing of the Amsterdam Joint Communique of July 11, 2002 and the Framework Agreement of August 3, 2015. This is no small achievement. I believe that the political space and the opportunity given by the Indo-Naga political peace process and the signing of these two agreements must be harvested in order to conclude a negotiated political settlement.
Countrymen!
As we commemorate the 79th Nagalim Independence Day and celebrate the milestones achieved with the signing of the Amsterdam Joint Communiqué of July 11, 2002 and the Framework Agreement of 3rd August, 2015, we are reminded that this achievement is a result of the seed planted by our past Naga leaders T. Aliba Imti, AZ Phizo, T. Sakhrie, Scato Swu, Khodao Yanthan, Isak Chishi Swu and several others who have stood uprightly for the Nagalim history and sovereignty. The leaders of India including Mahatma Gandhi, Shri Rajagopalachari, PV Narasimha Rao, HD Deve Gowda, IK Gujral, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Dr. Manmohan Singh and Narendra Modi whose understanding and counsel on the Indo-Naga conflict also guided the course of the history and have enabled the official signing of the Amsterdam Joint Communiqué of July 11, 2002 and the Framework Agreement of 3rd August, 2015 between the Gol and the NSCN. In this regard, due acknowledgement must also be given to the representatives of the Government of India for the Indo-Naga peace talks for their conclusive contribution towards the signing of the two historic agreements, including Swaraj Kaushal, K. Padmanabhaiah, Oscar Fernandes (former union minister), RS Pandey and RN Ravi. We also fully acknowledge the role of individuals like the noted human rights lawyer and activist, Nandita Haksar and others like Michael C Van walt van Praag of Kreddha as "third party mediator". They helped sustained the Indo-Naga peace process in difficult times.
Countrymen!
We are also thankful and indebted to the international organizations who acted as the main pillars in our international campaign on Nagalim and such support had contributed to signing of the ceasefire on July 25, 1997 and the start of the Indo Naga peace process between the Gol and the NSCN from the 1st August, 1997. In this regard, mention may be made of organizations like the Society for Threatened People, International Work Group for Indigenous Affairs (IWGIA), KWIA-Support Group for Indigenous Peoples, Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO) and several others. The United Nations (UN) and its various human rights mechanisms including the United Nation Working Group on Indigenous Peoples (UNWGIP), Permanent Forum, the UN Sub Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights within the ECOSOC and others provided the much-needed platform for the NSCN and the Naga civil societies to highlight Nagalim situation to the international audience. The NSCN becoming the UNPO member on January 23, 1993 was momentous and ground breaking. Today, the Nagalim national flag stands proudly in the institutions that support human rights and self-determination of nations and peoples.
Countrymen!
To the Naga tribes and civil society organizations (CSOs) from different places in India and Burma (Myanmar) I cannot thank them enough for their selfless services and cooperation against all odds as they stood up firmly to the occasion in times of conflict and peace. In this regards, please allow me to acknowledge all the Naga civil societies like Naga Hoho, Eastern Nagaland Peoples Organization (ENPO), Tirap Changlang Longding Peoples Forum (TCLPF), Global Naga Forum (GNF), United Naga Council (UNC) from south Nagalim and Naga tribe organizations from Myanmar, Naga Peoples Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR), Naga women organizations including the Naga Mothers Association (NMA), Naga Women's Union (NWU), Manipur, the student fraternity including the Naga Student's Federation (NSF), All Naga Student's Association Manipur (ANSAM), Naga student's unions (Delhi, Shillong, Tirap, Changlang, Longding), Dimapur Naga Students Union (DNSU), Eastern Naga Student's Federation (ENSF) and Naga Students Organization (NSO) Myanmar, etc. Last but not the least, we are thankful to several individuals, organizations and committed well- wishers from the mainland India and elsewhere, wherever they are, for their unwavering and unfailing support to the Indo-Naga peace process.
Countrymen!
Kindly allow me to remind ourselves today on this occasion of historic 79th Nagalim Independence Day Commemoration, the 23rd year of the signing of Amsterdam Joint Communiqué of July 11, 2002 and the 10th year of the signing of the Framework Agreement of 3rd August, 2015. Significantly, these agreements speak loud and clear that Nagas are not lost people. We have our history and we have our sovereign rights. We will stand by our precious unique history and sovereignty, whether it is today or tomorrow. We do not demand anything from India and Burma (Myanmar) but we declare and proclaim what is rightfully ours. That is why the Nagalim unique history, our territory and sovereignty, Nagalim national flag, Nagalim national constitution (Yehzabo) and integration of all Naga contiguous areas are non-negotiable. Hence, if India and Burma (Myanmar) respect the history of the Nagas, we will respect theirs ten times more.
Countrymen!
I am proud that we have not forgotten the condition upon which God hath given liberty to mankind. That is to maintain "eternal vigilance". Because, the enemy would not rest in order to destroy the God given history of Naga nation, Nagalim.
Countrymen!
In keeping with the spirit of Nagalim Independence Day commemoration hoisting our national flag, we must take the stand in our hearts to have the courage to maintain freedom in the mind, faith in the words and pride in our hearts and honor our creator God.

Manipur Bike Rally Marks 79th Independence Day
As part of the 79th Independence Day Celebration 2025, the Manipur Police Department and the Youth Affairs & Sports Department successfully organized a “Har Ghar Tiranga” Bike Rally today.
The event was flagged off by the Hon’ble Governor of Manipur, Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, along with Security Advisor Shri Kuldiep Singh, Chief Secretary Shri Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS, and Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Rajiv Singh, IPS. The rally began at Hatta Kangjeibung and concluded at the historic Khongjom War Memorial Complex.
More than 1,000 riders from over 20 well-known riding clubs across Manipur, along with Manipur Police personnel, took part in the event.
DGP Shri Rajiv Singh, IPS, attended the closing ceremony at Khongjom War Memorial as the Chief Guest, where he was warmly received by Thoubal Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Hannah Kamei, IAS, and senior police officers. In his speech, the DGP praised the participating clubs for spreading the spirit of Har Ghar Tiranga across the state, promoting unity and patriotism. He also interacted with the riders and presented mementos to club representatives as a token of appreciation.
The rally ended with participants carrying a renewed sense of pride and dedication to the ideals symbolized by the tricolour.
Grace in Tradition: Kuki Woman in Cultural Attire
These photos show a young Kuki woman dressed in her traditional attire, radiating grace and pride.
She wears a black strapless dress adorned with horizontal patterns in yellow, red, and green at the top. Around her neck are multiple strands of red beads, adding richness to her look. Her arms are decorated with numerous golden bangles stacked from wrist to elbow, and she carries a small woven bamboo basket at her side.
Her headgear is striking — a black band with yellow, red, and black stripes, from which rise tall stems topped with pom-poms in matching colors. From the sides, long beaded strands in black, yellow, and red cascade gracefully, framing her hair, which is tied neatly at the back.
The background features a cloth in bold red, yellow, and blue horizontal stripes, possibly representing a cultural or community flag. In each frame, her smile and poise reflect a deep connection to her heritage, making the traditional attire come alive.
"In every thread and bead, she carries the story of her people — and in her smile, their unbroken spirit."

Harvesting Large Cardamom (Aigiju): Reward of Hard Work
This picture shows people harvesting and cleaning Aigiju (also called Aiju in Kuki), neatly filling baskets with the fruits after much labor. It’s truly the time to encash the reward of months of hard work.
In English, Aigiju/Aiju is called Cardamom — specifically large cardamom (Amomum subulatum), known for its strong aroma and flavour.

TSA CONDEMNS KIA, KLA, KUKI SOO MILITANTS
MEDIA RELEASE
Wednesday, the 13th August, 2025
The Thadou Students' Association (TSA) firmly and unequivocally condemns the recent actions and inflammatory statements made by Mr. Kaiminthang Thangew, Chief of the Kuki Liberation Army/Kuki Liberation Organisation (KLA/KLO), in the aftermath of the "Road to Peace – Covenant of Understanding" meeting held in Imphal on 6th August, 2025 between Thadou Inpi Manipur and various Manipur Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).
It has come to the knowledge of the Thadou Students' Association (TSA) that Mr. Thangew issued a diktat to the Kuki Inpi Assam and the Kuki Students' Organisation, Assam (KSO-A), directing them to convene an emergency public consultative meeting at Songpijang Community Hall, Haflong, on 11th August, 2025. Furthermore, Mr. Thangew compelled various Thadou chiefs who are not Kukis, under duress, to attend the said meeting, and accordingly, they participated out of fear. During his address, Mr. Thangew incited and instigated Kuki subscribers in Dima Hasao district by declaring that five innocent Thadou leaders from Assam who attended the Imphal Peace Meeting would be subjected to the customary ritual "Salamsat" as a form of penalty before the Kuki Inpi Assam. Such an act is completely illegal, illegitimate, and utterly unacceptable to the Thadou people.
In this connection, the TSA issues the following categorical clarifications:
1. The Thadou community is entirely distinct from the Kuki community and is neither part of it nor subordinate to it in any manner. Thadou Inpi Assam, including its units in Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong, is fully independent and not under the control or influence of Kuki Inpi Assam, Kuki SoO groups, or any associated militant organisation.
2. No participant of the Thadou Inpi Manipur Road to Peace initiative from among the Thadous of Assam will perform any "Salamsat" ritual to Kuki Inpi Assam, regardless of threats, intimidation, or pressure from Kuki supremacists. The Thadou public is strongly warned not to be deceived or misled by any propaganda or false claims to the contrary.
We further emphasise that this is not the first instance of Kuki Inpi Assam, KLA/KLO, and individuals such as Mr. Thangew engaging in acts of interference in Thadou affairs. It is also pertinent to note that the stopping of the Hun-Thadou Cultural Festival, 2025 in Guwahati was carried out under the direction of Mr. Thangew. Such repeated intrusions are unacceptable, unwarranted, and detrimental to peaceful coexistence.
The Thadou Students' Association appeals to Kuki Inpi Assam, KLA/KLO, and all related entities to refrain from any interference in Thadou interests, matters, or internal affairs. We also demand the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of the statements and actions made on 11th August, 2025 by the Kuki supremacists, and call upon the government to take prompt and decisive action to ensure justice and fairness.

Thadou Inpi Manipur: Patriots' Day Message
13 August, 2025
On this Patriots' Day, Thadou Inpi Manipur joins the people of our state in paying the highest tribute to the heroic sons of Manipur who laid down their lives in the Anglo–Manipuri War of 1891. Against the tide of British imperial power, they stood firm to defend the dignity, honour, and sovereignty of our motherland.
The martyrdom of Yubraj Tikendrajit and Thangal General, publicly executed on 13 August, 1891 at Pheidabung, was a moment of profound grief and outrage for our people, yet it also became an eternal spark of patriotism in our hearts.
We remember not only the battles fought, but also the unwavering spirit of resistance against injustice. These patriots chose sacrifice over submission, leaving us a legacy of unity, resilience, and devotion to our land.
Today, as we honour their memory, let us also reflect on our shared responsibility to protect our heritage, preserve our harmony, and work together for a future worthy of their sacrifice. May their example guide us in times of challenge, and may the flame of patriotism burn bright in every Thadou and Manipuri heart.
Long live the unity of our indigenous people. Long live Manipur.
