Manipur Police Probe Assault on IGP During Festival Protest
According to police, security teams repeatedly tried to stop and peacefully disperse the crowd. IGP (Zone–I) Themthing Ngashangva, IPS, was present on the ground, supervising the operation. Police, including women personnel, made several attempts to block the protestors. However, the mob turned aggressive and hurled water bottles and placards at the police. A woman protestor also assaulted the IGP and hurled racial slurs at him while he was performing his duty, police said.

Kharam Villages in Manipur: History, Population & Identity Insights
Today, I visited Tuisenphai Village in Kangpokpi district, Manipur (Kharam Tribe). I met with the village elder and interacted with him. From our conversation, I learned that the Kharam tribe shares a close affinity with the Kom tribe, and that Tuisenphai was originally carved out from Thayong Kom village.
As per the village elder, across Manipur, the Kharam tribe has approximately five villages, all located in the eastern and western parts of Kangpokpi district.
According to the 2011 Census, the Kharam population stands at 1,145 in total.
List of Kharam Villages (All in Kangpokpi District) and Approximate Household Details:
1. Tuisenphai – Near Takhel (50+ households)
2. Laikot Kharam – Near Yaingangpokpi (30+ households)
3. Laikot Phaijol – Near Yaingangpokpi (60+ households)
4. Kharam Pallel – Near New Keithelmanbi (100+ households)
5. Kharam Tampak – Near Ngairangbam / Koireng (5+ households)
For the Thadou tribe (2.16 lakh), this is a call to clarity. We must protect our cultural identity and ensure it is not overshadowed, suppressed, or controlled by any Kuki supremacists and ideology. Our future depends on standing confidently in who we are i.e., Thadou (not Kuki).
Thadou identity must remain Thadou — strong, independent, and unyielding.

MP’s PA Files Complaint Against IGP for Threats at Royal Palace
According to the report, the incident occurred at around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday when IGP Ngashangva allegedly entered the MP's residential compound—also the historic Royal Palace (Konung)—and threatened the MP's security personnel. The IGP reportedly warned that he would file an FIR against the MP, accusing him of organising rallies of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and giving them shelter.

From Humble Beginnings to God’s Calling – Testimony of Revd Canon Dr David T Haokip
This is the testimony of Revd. Canon Dr. David T. Haokip, MDiv, DD. He has served in the Church of England for 26 years. He has also served at St George’s Parish in England for 21 years. His long service shows his dedication to God, his church, and the people he cares for.
Introduction: This is my personal testimony crafted around my own story: my childhood blessings, my difficulties and hardships were the beginnings of His calling today as a diaspora clergyman in Church of England.
“From humble beginnings to God’s Calling” Bible Verse: Psalm 113:7–8 — “He/God raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; He seats them with princes, with the princes of his people.”
1. God’s blessings in a humble childhood: I grew up poor but middle class in my home country with a single parent, and alongside with my two sisters and grandmother. These experiences were difficult but mum’s hard work made life comfortable, yet these formed the soil where God planted the seeds in my life and faith, resilience, and compassion.
Biblical Insight: I understand,
God often begins His greatest works in the most humble circumstances. Examples in the Bible;
a) Moses grew up as an orphaned child adopted into another family.
b) Joseph came from a broken home filled with struggle.
b) Jesus Himself grew up in a poor household in Nazareth.
What the world or society sees as weakness, God sees as preparation for life. Amen.
2. God was present in my family's struggles and hard work.
Psalm 68:5 — “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling.”
Growing up with a single parent, I experienced God as protector, provider, father, and guide — even before I fully knew He was shaping my future. God’s presence is strongest in seasons of vulnerability.
3. Childhood hardships or hard work become “tools” for my ministry and life journey.
My childhood hardships/hard work strengthened the very qualities I needed in my calling today. Example:
a) Empathy for struggling families,
b) Compassion for the poor in the community,
c) Understanding of migration and diaspora challenges,
d) Strength built through adversity, and
c) Deeply dependence on God.
My childhood pain or experiences became pastoral wisdom. Amen.
4. God lifted me into His Ministry and Mission for His purpose.
From a poor village childhood to a diaspora clergyman in India South Korea and now in London, England. My journey mirrors the biblical pattern of how is God lifting His servants for His purpose. Amen.
I read/saw in the Bible;
a) King David was from shepherd to leader,
b) A Moabite lady Ruth was from hardship to honour, see in Jesus family tree,
c) Christian killer Paul was from unknown to apostle to the nations.
1 Samuel 7:12 — “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” My life is a testimony of God’s faithfulness and His calling.
5. My life journey became a Blessing to others where God is using me, at the moment in London and but don’t know for my future, He only knows.
My childhood blessings are not only for just a remembrance, but they are for my family and ministry.
a) I understand children of struggling homes.
b) I understand migrants, diaspora, and the lonely people.
c) I embody God’s lifting grace. Please read 2Corinthians 1:4 — comfort others with the comfort God gave you. Leaning from my childhood blessings are the foundation of my pastoral heart and my family.
FINALLY; my testimony is a living for me, my family and for some. Amen.
Growing up as middle class in my home country but looking it again, all these points:
a) From poverty to purpose,
b) From single parent home to spiritual fatherhood,
c) From local village/town to the global city in London,
d) From childhood struggles/hard work to pastoral strength.
God turned my beginnings into blessings that now shape my life, my family, and my ministry in the diaspora community and to the world where I lived.
I asked God’s forgiveness for my mistakes and sins I committed but now asked guidance for the rest of my journey in this world.
Thanks for reading my testimony. May God bless you. Amen.

14 Min Kin PDF Members Including Deputy Commander Fall in Banmaw Offensive
The Minkin People's Defense Force Battalion 3 (MKPDF-3) has reported the loss of 14 fighters, including their deputy battalion commander, during the prolonged battle for Banmaw town in Kachin State.
The casualties occurred over a six-month period as part of the nearly year-long campaign to capture the strategic town. MKPDF-3 confirmed on November 18 that more than 100 of their personnel have been engaged in combat operations since April 2025.
Despite the significant losses, the battalion stated that remaining members are committed to continuing their involvement in ongoing revolutionary operations.
The battle for Banmaw represents one of the sustained engagements in Kachin State, with resistance forces from multiple townships participating in the offensive against military positions in the region.

URGES ALL NOT TO MISIDENTIFY THADOU AS KUKI: TSA-GHQ
PRESS STATEMENT
Imphal, the 17th November, 2025
1. The Thadou Students' Association (TSA) appreciates the responsible action taken by the Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills (KISH) and the Sadar Hills Chiefs Association (SAHILCA) for accepting responsibility regarding the October 29–30, 2025 incident at Daili village, during which posters were vandalized, communal slogans were shouted, and a large firecracker was detonated. The TSA also applauds the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on November 15, 2025, between the Naga People's Organisation (NPO), Senapati, and KISH and SAHILCA, for their commitment to restoring peace and harmony.
2. The TSA appeals to KISH and SAHILCA to also extend moral responsibility and protection to Thadou individuals within their jurisdiction, particularly those who are not Kuki subscribers, and ensure that they are not harmed, threatened, or misidentified by any Kuki groups or supporters.
3. The TSA reminds that Thadou is not Kuki, and therefore the NPO, Senapati should refrain from mistaking the Thadou community for Kuki. The Thadou community functions under its own apex body i.e., Thadou Inpi Manipur (TIM).
4. The TSA underscores that genuine Thadou will never engage in any form of violent activities or rhetoric, and remains committed to promoting peace, respect, and mutual understanding among all communities.
5. The TSA calls upon all stakeholders to exercise restraint, avoid communal assumptions, and continue working collectively towards peaceful coexistence.

Myanmar Military Suffers Casualties in Fierce Falam Township Battle
Heavy fighting broke out on the morning of November 17, 2025, as Myanmar military forces advancing from Webula town toward Falam encountered fierce resistance from Chin revolutionary forces in Falam Township, Myanmar.
The Myanmar military column, comprising hundreds of troops, came under coordinated attack around 8:00 AM local time from joint forces of the Chin National Army (CNA) and Chin National Defense Force (CNDF). Military sources report at least 10 casualties among government forces during the engagement.
Revolutionary forces seized a substantial cache of ammunition and took prisoners of war during the confrontation, according to battlefield reports.
In response to the heavy ground losses, Myanmar military forces conducted at least five aerial bombing missions using jet fighters and Y12 aircraft throughout the day.
A separate intense battle unfolded near Thaing Ngin village, where Chin revolutionary forces engaged Myanmar military units from approximately 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Reports indicate significant casualties on the military side during this prolonged engagement.
Fighting also continued overnight in Pyusawhti village, Hantawaddy area of Gangaw District in Magway Region, where Chin revolutionary forces reportedly confiscated large quantities of weapons and ammunition from military positions.
The series of clashes represents a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Myanmar's military government and armed resistance groups in the Chin region.
