Kuki-Zomi-Hmar MLAs Submit Joint Memorandum to PM Modi Seeking Early Political Settlement
Lamka, September 13, 2025 — A group of 10 legislators from Manipur submitted a joint memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his first visit to Lamka, Churachandpur, urging for an early political settlement to the ongoing conflict in the state.
The MLAs, representing constituencies across Churachandpur, Tengnoupal, Saikul, Kangpokpi, and other hill districts, alleged that their people have faced ethnic persecution, displacement, and violence in the valley areas of Manipur. They stated that the minority community had been “totally cleansed” from the Imphal valley and subjected to “shame, assault, rape, and ravages” both physically and mentally.
The memorandum emphasized that peaceful coexistence could only be achieved as “good neighbours, never under the same roof again.” It called upon the Prime Minister to expedite dialogue and address their long-standing demand for a separate Union Territory with Legislature.
The memorandum was signed by the following MLAs:
-
Vungzagin Valte – MLA, Thanlon AC (BJP)
-
Ngursanglur Sanate – MLA, Tipaimukh AC (BJP)
-
Chinlunthang Manlun – MLA, Singngat AC (KPA)
-
Letzamang Haokip – MLA, Henglep AC (BJP)
-
Paolienlal Haokip – MLA, Saikot AC (BJP)
-
Lallianmang Khaute – MLA, Churachandpur AC (BJP)
-
Letpao Haokip – MLA, Tengnoupal AC (BJP)
-
Kimneo Hangshing – MLA, Saikul AC (KPA)
-
Haokholet Kipgen – MLA, Saitu AC (Independent)
-
Nemcha Kipgen – MLA, Kangpokpi AC (BJP)
The leaders expressed hope that this political solution would bring lasting peace, security, justice, and belonging to their people.
MLA Vungzagin Valte Appeals for Separate Administration for Zomi-Kuki-Hmar Community
New Delhi, September 13, 2025 — Manipur MLA Vungzagin Valte has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the creation of a Separate Administration, preferably a Union Territory with legislature, for the Zomi-Kuki-Hmar community.
In his letter, Valte, a three-term legislator and BJP Adviser to the Chief Minister, cited years of ethnic violence and displacement suffered by the community. Recalling a May 2023 incident, he noted that he was brutally attacked by armed militia, leaving him paralyzed and permanently handicapped. Despite the gravity of the attack, Valte stated, no inquiry by CBI or NIA has been initiated.
The MLA said that the Zomi-Kuki-Hmar community has been driven out of Imphal and the valley, leading to a “complete physical and social divide.” He stressed that a Union Territory status under the Indian Constitution would ensure justice, administrative convenience, and a lasting political solution.
Valte’s appeal aligns with the ongoing demands of the Kuki National Organization (KNO) and the United People’s Front (UPF), who are engaged in Suspension of Operations (SoO) talks with the Government of India. He urged the Prime Minister to consider the request at the highest level, warning that forced peace in Manipur has historically proven unsustainable.
Kuki-Zo Council Submits Memo to PM Modi, Seeks Union Territory Status
Lamka, September 13, 2025 — The Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) has submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his historic visit to the region, seeking a lasting political solution for the Kuki-Zo people.
In the memo, the KZC highlighted the community’s suffering, stating that over 250 lives have been lost, more than 360 churches destroyed, 7,000 homes burnt, and 40,000 people displaced due to violence attributed to the majority Meitei community.
The Council reiterated its long-standing demand for a Union Territory with legislature under Article 239A of the Constitution, emphasizing that separation from Manipur is essential for peace, security, and survival.
The memo also referenced the September 4, 2025 agreement signed between the Government of India and SoO groups for a time-bound political settlement. The KZC urged the Prime Minister to expedite the process, expressing faith that his leadership would “heal wounds, restore dignity, and safeguard the future” of the Kuki-Zo people.
This marks the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the region in nearly four decades, making the occasion significant for the Kuki-Zo community’s appeal.

Kuki Inpi Youth Affairs Voices Discontent Over Project Allocation, Calls for Union Territory
Lamka, September 12, 2025 — The Kuki Inpi Youth Affairs (KIYA) has expressed strong disappointment over the allocation of ₹7,300 crore development projects set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Churachandpur, Kuki-inhabited areas of Manipur.
In a press statement, the organization alleged that only a small portion of the funds would benefit Kuki areas, while the majority would go to Meitei communities. The statement described this as "not a neglect but pure insult," especially for the Kukis who have borne the brunt of the ongoing ethnic violence.
While extending a warm welcome to the Prime Minister, KIYA emphasized that his visit should help him understand the ground reality—claiming that Kukis and Meiteis can no longer coexist. The group reiterated its demand for Union Territory status as a matter of survival.
The statement also urged the Central Government to recognize this demand and take decisive action. Additionally, KIYA called on the District Administration in Churachandpur to enforce strict security measures during the Prime Minister’s visit. It insisted that buffer zones between Kuki and Meitei areas be respected, warning that no Meitei—whether civilian, police, or otherwise—should be allowed to enter Kuki areas under any circumstances.
The organization cautioned that any breach of these conditions would be seen as a provocation, for which the administration would be held responsible.

They Burn, We Dance
They take guns, we take bribes,
One youth fights wars, the other youth fights drug networks
They shout "Death to the dictators!" We sing to their rhythm "Hing Mina shi eikhoi!"
They shout "No more chains!"
We bow and pray "Master..."
They say "Nation over Neta" We say "
My name not yours"
They say "The Adivasi will not dance!"
We say "We will dance for you, you can take one home for a good time too"
They say "Look at the pain you have caused us!"
We say "Hide those coffins, hide the poor, the widowed, the orphaned, lest Master find us untidy"
They shout "The Subaltern shall speak, and you shall listen!"
We say "O Master, our Saviour, our Missionary" One shouts "Freedom", one whispers "Nao-sen"
They burn, we dance
Fooling ourselves, choking ourselves May our conscience remain scarred But,
Our time will come
Our time will come
Then,
We shall burn the same.
Kuki-Zo Council Appeals for Unity and Respect ahead of PM Modi Visit
Lamka, September 12, 2025 — The Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) has issued a public appeal urging members of the community to uphold unity, discipline, and respect during the forthcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Council expressed disappointment over reports of vandalism on roadside decorations prepared for the Prime Minister’s arrival, stating that such acts do not reflect the spirit and values of the Kuki-Zo people. KZC emphasized that these were the actions of a few individuals and called on the public, especially the youth, to refrain from unruly behavior.
“We must not allow such isolated incidents to overshadow the goodwill and hospitality of our people. Instead, let us rise above and welcome the Prime Minister in a dignified and honorable manner,” the statement read.
The Council said the Prime Minister’s visit marks a new chapter of hope, recognition, and meaningful engagement for the Kuki-Zo community. It urged all sections of society to extend full cooperation and participate wholeheartedly in the historic occasion.
KZC further appealed to the public to come out in large numbers, dressed in traditional attire, to warmly welcome Prime Minister Modi and showcase the rich culture, unity, and resilience of the Kuki-Zo people.

Kale Clash: Junta Losses, Indian Militants Captured
12 Sept 2025: Four junta soldiers were killed in a battle in Kale Township, while seven regime troops were captured, including Indian nationals identified as Meitei and NSCN militants, according to the Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government (NUG).
Resistance forces also seized large stockpiles of weapons, ammunition, and narcotics from the joint camp. Among those captured was Nongthongbam Malemnganba Singh, a resident of Sekmai, Manipur and a cadre of the Meitei terrorist group UNLF. Singh was found carrying heroin along with multiple Indian identity documents, including Aadhaar, voter ID, health card, and a driving license — clear evidence of cross-border fighters involved in the junta’s campaign.
The discovery of weapons, drugs, and foreign fighters in Kale Township highlights the growing convergence of terrorism, narcotics, and cross-border complicity fueling the junta’s war effort. This battle underscores the regime’s reliance on illicit networks and foreign proxies to sustain its offensives, further eroding its already fragile legitimacy.

KSO Churachandpur Welcomes PM Modi with Public Curfew & Security Measures
Nepal Gen Z Protests: Youth Power Topples Govt
In early September 2025, protests broke out in Kathmandu after the government blocked 26 social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, X, and YouTube because they did not register with the state. For young people, this was more than just losing apps—it felt like losing their freedom to speak.
The first protest began on September 4, 2025, when hundreds of young people, mostly from Generation Z, gathered in Kathmandu. They held placards and shouted slogans against the government’s move. Soon, the protests spread to other cities like Pokhara, Biratnagar, and Lalitpur. Even without big political parties leading them, the youth managed to bring thousands of people together.
The protests were not only about social media. Gen Z was angry with leaders because of corruption, favoritism (nepotism), and lack of jobs. Videos of rich “Nepo Kids”—the sons and daughters of politicians and powerful families—showing off their wealth on TikTok and Instagram made the anger even worse.
When protesters tried to march closer to Parliament, the police responded with tear gas, water cannons, and rubber bullets. The clashes turned deadly. By September 8, at least 19 people had died, most of them in Kathmandu and Itahari. Later reports showed that around 30 people were killed nationwide, including protesters and 3 policemen. More than 2,500 people were injured across the country. The wife of former Prime Minister Rabi Laxmi Chitrakar also died when their house was set on fire. However, no sitting politicians or ex-ministers were killed.
Despite the violence, the protests continued. Finally, the government withdrew the social media ban. On September 8, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned, marking a huge victory for Nepal’s youth.
The Gen Z protests showed that young people, with courage and unity, can force change and make their voices heard.
Incident of Joupi: September 11, 1993
That evening, Deacon Pu Helet Hangshing called everyone to the church. He told them to forgive one another, to cleanse their hearts, and to worship God together, for no one knew what the next day would bring. Men, women, and children filled the church, their voices trembling in prayer and song. It was a night of both tears and faith — the last time the people of Joupi would worship together in their beloved church.
That night became etched in history as the final gathering of Joupi in peace — a moment of unity and faith before the darkness of September 12 and 13 fell upon them.

What kind of Peace do we need to convey?
Why hiding the WoR & the Symbolic Coffins of our Martyrs and their sacrifices from the Highest Administrator, the PM of India?
There are too many PR statements from our side, without understanding the people's sentiments. These PRs hurt our people and only create more dissatisfaction. The government's PR is quite enough.
