LAMKA – A
joint meeting of the Thangkhal Tribe Council (TTC), Thangkhal Youth
Organisation (TYO) and Thangkhal Sinlai Pawlpi (TSP / Students body) was held
at TTC GHQ Office in Gochinkhup Veng, New Lamka, Manipur on March 26, 2018.
The
meeting resolved to work together for the betterment of the Thangkhal peoples
in Manipur. Heads of the three cognate bodies attended the meeting and
discussed at length.
It
may be mentioned that Thangkhal Tribe Council is the highest apex body of the
Thangkhal peoples living in Manipur, northeast India. It was formed as the Thangkhal
Peoples’ Organisation (TPO) wayback in 1978. TPO has been rechristened as the
Thangkhal Tribe Council (TTC) at its Annual Assembly held in Simte Inn, Lamka
on 20th December 2017.
