Imphal | Reflecting on the past: Army patrolling today!
On the night of 16
February 2025, the Army was patrolling in Imphal, and the police announced, “Everyone
go home... return to your homes.” If such actions had been taken on the night
of 3 May 2023, shortly after the violence erupted, Manipur might not be in the
state it is today. Why? Imagine, within 24 hours, 50-60 Kuki-Zo churches in
Imphal were vandalized, burned, or demolished, and hundreds of homes and
properties were also set on fire by Meitei mobs. Where were the security forces
during those critical days? Who restrained their hands and actions?
