Negligence in Governance: Karnataka Government and BBMP must ACT Now

EVEN WITH just a slight spell of rain today, Bengaluru’s streets have once again turned into pools of filth and negligence. Roads are littered with dirty water, garbage, and plastic bottles, a glaring sign of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP)’s failure in maintaining the city. One of the worst-hit areas lies beneath the railway track, a crucial link connecting Vasanth Nagar, Benson Town, and Bangalore Cantonment, now drowning in waste and neglect.

The sight of waterlogged roads across the city is not just an inconvenience but a clear indicator of poor drainage systems and the dire need for immediate repairs before the full force of the monsoon arrives. The incompetence of BBMP and the Karnataka state government in addressing these long-standing issues is not just frustrating but hazardous. Adding to the misery, heaps of improperly dumped waste along roadsides create a breeding ground for diseases, endangering the health of residents.

Here’s some of the random photographs captured today (03 April 2025) -- each image speaks louder than words. The pictures tell a thousand stories of negligence, apathy, and the crumbling state of Bengaluru’s infrastructure. How long will the people of Bengaluru suffer due to this indifference? The BBMP and state government must WAKE UP from their slumber and act decisively before the city’s infrastructure collapses under their mismanagement. Enough is enough --- Bengaluru deserves better!

Security Forces Seize Huge Arms Cache, Destroy 13 Bunkers In Kukiland

Updated: April 3, 2025
Acting on intelligence about the presence of bunkers and a large arms cache, security forces launched a joint operation in Twichin and Saibol villages under Yaingangpokpi Police Station in the early hours of Thursday. The operation, carried out by a combined team of 4 MAHAR (BORDERS) and Yaingangpokpi police, commenced at 6:00 AM with the support of an army explosive detection (ED) dog.

During the intelligence-based search, a massive cache of arms, ammunition, explosives, communication equipment, and other warlike stores was discovered hidden inside the bunkers. In addition to the seizure, security forces destroyed 13 tactically positioned bunkers, allegedly erected by a Kuki armed group. The operation concluded at 1:00 PM the same day.

Among the recovered weapons were a 12-bore single-barrel rifle and several heavy bipod-mounted Pompi guns of different calibers, including 60 mm, 55 mm, and 45 mm. A large number of Pompi bombs were also seized, including 82 mm, 75 mm, 60 mm, and 45 mm caliber bombs, along with fin-stabilized and empty shell variants. Additionally, two Burmese electronic IEDs weighing 5 kg each, two Baofeng radio sets, and a limited quantity of 12-bore ammunition were recovered.

All seized arms and explosives have been handed over to Yaingangpokpi Police Station for further legal procedures. Security forces remain on high alert in the region as investigations continue.

MHA's TRAP

Let me share my point of view.
We all know that we have been suffering since May3 2023 until today. From the youngest to the oldest, we need to restart our daily lives from scratch.
As I have said many times before, we should not be overly obedient to the MHA. Just because we are a Christian community does not mean we must always show goodwill. We live in a world where people fight for land and even kill others to occupy their territory. We should not be like rats chasing after something shiny.
We, the Kuki people, should stand against the MHA and the Meitei government. We must fight for our rights and our land alone. Let them come to negotiate with us.

First Assam State Hun-Thadou Cultural Festival, 2025

The 1st Assam State Level
HUN-THADOU CULTURAL FESTIVAL, 2025

Motto: "My Culture, My Identity"

Date: 02-04-2025

Official Statement
First Assam State Hun-Thadou Cultural Festival, 2025

*Guwahati, the 2nd April, 2025:* The Organizing Committee of the First Assam State Hun-Thadou Cultural Festival, 2025, is pleased to announce that preparations for this historic event are in full swing. The festival is scheduled to be held on April 4, 2025, in Guwahati, Assam, with the aim of celebrating and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Thadou tribe in Assam, particularly in Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong.

Despite challenges posed by external elements attempting to disrupt the festival through coercion, intimidation, and misinformation, we stand resolute in our commitment to uphold and preserve the unique traditions of the Thadou community. We strongly condemn the unlawful actions of certain groups, including Kuki militant outfits and their frontal organizations like the Kuki Inpi Assam, which have attempted to undermine the significance of this event by issuing diktats, coercing Thadou leaders into signing forced declarations, and calling for a boycott of the festival.

We acknowledge and appreciate the government authorities for their timely intervention and commitment to ensuring the peaceful and successful conduct of the festival. We trust that necessary security measures will be in place to protect the rights of the Thadou people to celebrate their culture without fear or external interference.

The First Assam State Hun-Thadou Cultural Festival, 2025 is a celebration of identity, heritage, and unity, and we call upon all members of the Thadou community and well-wishers to stand together in solidarity. We urge everyone to reject divisive propaganda and come forward in support of our cultural resurgence.

With determination and collective strength, we will honor our Thadou heritage and ensure that the festival is a grand success. Let this be a significant milestone in reclaiming and preserving our cultural identity. Together, we will make the Thadou great again!

Statement: "Thadou is a distinct ethnic group of people. Thadou is not Kuki, or underneath Kuki, or part of Kuki, but a separate, independent entity from Kuki. Any organization that incorporates "Thadou" but espouses Kuki and mis-portrays Thadou as Kuki or a part of Kuki is illegitimate and does not represent Thadou people and interest" – Thadou Convention, 2024.
