Tibetan Influencer Lhamo Killed On Livestream After Attack

A popular Tibetan content creator, known online as Lhamo, was brutally attacked and killed by her ex-husband while she was live-streaming on Douyin, China's version of TikTok. The incident took place in her father's kitchen as more than 400 viewers watched her broadcast.

According to reports, a man suddenly burst into the room, prompting Lhamo to scream in fear before the livestream abruptly went dark. Investigations later revealed that the intruder was her ex-husband, Tang, who doused her in gasoline and set her on fire.

Lhamo, in her 30s, had repeatedly filed complaints of domestic violence against Tang, but her pleas for protection went unanswered. She often streamed her cooking from remote mountains and open fields—places her followers assumed were chosen for creativity, but were, in reality, attempts to stay away from her abuser.

She was rushed to a hospital and battled for her life in the ICU for two weeks. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries. The case sparked widespread outrage across China over the failure to protect victims of domestic abuse.

Tang was later arrested, tried, and executed in 2022.

Delhi Police, IGDTUW Launch Drone Partnership to Boost Tech-Driven Policing

An important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the IGDTUW Auditorium, marking a major collaboration between Delhi Police and the Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW).

The agreement, facilitated under the guidance of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and the Commissioner of Police, aims to strengthen technology-driven policing in the capital.

As part of this partnership, IGDTUW handed over 75 surveillance drones to Delhi Police, ushering in a new phase of smart monitoring and women-led innovation under the “Netra-Netrutva-Naari” initiative.

Special Commissioner of Police (Crime & PMMC), Devesh Chandra Srivastava, lauded the initiative, calling it a significant step toward enhancing public safety and modernising policing through advanced technology.

BJP Leaders Meet Kuki & Naga Groups in Manipur to Push Peace, Govt Formation

Imphal, Nov 14, 2025: Manipur is under President's Rule, and in an effort to form a popular government, senior BJP leaders are actively working to address the ongoing violence. BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B.L. Santosh and North East Coordinator Dr. Sambit Patra met BJP Kuki MLAs in Churachandpur district on Thursday (Nov 13).

The two leaders also visited Maram village in Senapati district, where they interacted with the district BJP president, office-bearers and Naga intellectuals. Their aim was to promote peace in Manipur and strengthen the party organisation. They flew from Imphal to Churachandpur by helicopter around 9:30 am.

After landing, they held a closed-door meeting with the Kuki MLAs to gather inputs on forming a popular government and improving peace efforts. Manipur has 10 Kuki MLAs, including seven from the BJP. Until now, all of them have stayed away from talks on government formation.

Later, the BJP leaders also met non-BJP Kuki MLAs and representatives of the Kuki Council and Zomi Council. Their discussions also focused on peace and bringing stability to the State. They additionally held meetings with district BJP office-bearers to strengthen the party's presence.

In Churachandpur, B.L. Santosh and Sambit Patra visited internally displaced people (IDPs) at the Sadbhavana Mandap Relief Camp and heard their concerns.

The leaders returned to Imphal around 12 noon and then travelled by road to Senapati District Headquarters. There, they met Naga village leaders, intellectuals, and district BJP officials to discuss ways to resolve the ongoing crisis. Naga MLAs stressed the need for an inclusive government that includes representation from the Kuki community.

After returning to Imphal from Senapati around 5 pm, the leaders visited the relief camp at Lamboikhongnangkhing and met IDPs from Moreh and Churachandpur. The displaced families shared their difficulties and requested help for resettlement.

The BJP leaders assured them that the Government would work to solve their problems. Sambit Patra also promised that resettlement would be completed before the next monsoon season.

Later in the evening, the leaders met RSS members at the RSS Manipur office near Imphal Airport. They discussed forming a popular government and continuing peace efforts in the State.

Pangal Bikers Attacked in Shangkai Village Over Loud Noise

Imphal, Nov 13, 2025: A group of 34 motorcyclists from the Pangal community (Manipuri Muslims) were attacked by villagers at Shangkai, a small Kuki village near Litan in Ukhrul district, around 7 pm on Wednesday.

The bikers, who were returning from Mova Cave in Ukhrul, allegedly created loud noises with their motorcycles, which angered some villagers. The confrontation soon turned violent, resulting in injuries and property damage.

One rider, Altaf Hussain from Urup, sustained a leg fracture and is being treated at JNIMS. Several motorcycles were also damaged during the attack.

Following the incident, a settlement was reached at Litan Police Station with the involvement of Shangkai village leaders and Kuki civil bodies. The nine detained bikers were later escorted and safely dropped off by personnel from Litan Police and the Maha Regiment.

Meeting with BJP National Leaders — Reiteration of Kuki-Zo Position

Today, a team from the Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) met Shri B.L. Santhosh, General Secretary (Organization), BJP, and Shri Sambit Patra, National Spokesperson, BJP, at the DC Churachandpur Bungalow.

During the interaction, the KZC delegation apprised the visiting leaders of our collective position — emphasizing the need to maintain the status quo along the buffer zone and to pursue an early political settlement for the Kuki-Zo before the invocation of any popular government in Manipur.

The KZC delegation made it categorically clear that we are not opposed to the  BJP Government. However, the prevailing ground realities have made it untenable for the Kuki-Zo community to participate willingly in the process of forming a new state government at this juncture.

The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere, with both sides engaging in constructive dialogue on the path toward peace, stability, and a just political resolution.

Arambai Tenggol Thanks MHA for Firm Stance Against Bifurcating Manipur; Calls for NRC

We Arambai Tenggol expresses our sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for their deep understanding of Manipur's historical foundations that safeguard Manipur's territorial integrity. The MHA's acknowledgment of the legal and constitutional complications involved in any attempt to bifurcate Manipur reflects their commitment to justice, constitutional propriety, and national unity.

We wholeheartedly welcome the clear and firm position taken by the MHA that no new Union Territory (UT) or Separate Administration will be created under any circumstances. According to the clarification issued, the MHA has explicitly informed the Kuki-Zo groups that the Government of India will neither support nor entertain any proposal for the formation of a new Union Territory nor encourage the idea of creating a Separate Administration by bifurcating Manipur. The Ministry has further reaffirmed that, during the tenure of the current government, there are no plans, no policies, and no considerations whatsoever for restructuring Manipur's territorial or administrative framework.

Arambai Tenggol strongly commends this decisive stand of the Ministry, stating that it reflects a clear understanding of Manipur's history, its delicate socio-cultural fabric, and the legal complexities involved in any attempt to divide the state. We believe that this unwavering commitment from the MHA reinforces the longstanding principle of maintaining the unity, integrity, and indivisibility of Manipur.

The Arambai Tenggol has always advocated for the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Manipur to identify and filter refugees and illegal immigrants, whose unchecked entry has led to demographic imbalance and social unrest.

We firmly believe that by addressing this core issue, the age-old harmony, brotherhood, and coexistence among the indigenous communities of Manipur—which have flourished together for centuries—can be revived and strengthened once again.

The Arambai Tenggol reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the unity, and integrity of Manipur, and calls upon all peace-loving citizens to work collectively towards restoring peace, stability, and mutual respect among all communities.

KSO Condemns Arson Attack on Tuibong SDO Office, Demands Investigation

CONDEMNATION
November 13, 2025

The Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Churachandpur, strongly condemns the heinous act of setting ablaze the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), Tuibong, by unidentified miscreants on the night of November 10, 2025.

The arson reportedly destroyed several office equipment and important documents, particularly those related to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). This was not a random act of vandalism but a deliberate attempt to destroy sensitive files and records concerning displaced individuals.

KSO Churachandpur urges the authorities to conduct a swift and thorough investigation to identify and bring the culprits to justice. The organisation also appeals to the public to protect and respect public property, as these institutions exist to serve the people.

NACEJ: Arrest Air Pollution, Not Activists and Agitators

National Alliance for Climate and Ecological Justice

NACEJ Statement on 'Toxic Governance' in Delhi NCR:
Arrest Air Pollution, Not Activists and Agitators: Restore Fundamental Right to Breathe

Ensure Firm Policy Shifts and Institutional Action against Prime Polluters, Not Citizens

12th Nov, 2025: Yet again, the national capital finds itself in the midst of an extremely severe pollution crisis, as was witnessed by a series of citizen, women and youth-led protests this week in Delhi. Shamefully though, instead of owning up institutional accountability, the Delhi Government unleashed police force on the peaceful participants and detained many of them until late in the night on 9th November. The detentions were both unnecessary and unjust.

NACEJ strongly condemns the abject failure of the Government in systemically addressing the air pollution crisis and the brazen, arbitrary detention of peacefully protesting citizens, students, parents, environmentalists, workers and activists, who are courageously organizing against this public health catastrophe. The Chief Minister owes a public apology to the protestors and the people of Delhi for the Government's failure, unjust detentions and use of police force against peaceful citizens. We call for withdrawal of cases registered, if any, against the protestors.

The indiscriminate action by authorities not only violates democratic rights but also blatantly disregards the dire health emergency faced by millions in Delhi NCR, as air pollution soared to its highest levels in four years, especially following Diwali on 21st October 2025, as confirmed by official monitoring stations. In the backdrop of the severity of the issue, the short-sighted, politicized response of the government will only exacerbate the air pollution crisis further in Delhi NCR.

NACEJ demands that the Delhi Government, the Union Government and all authorities must immediately, without delay or evasion, recognize the magnitude of this public health emergency and the legitimate outrage of the people of Delhi NCR, instead of treating it as a 'law and order issue' or a political blame game. This unchecked governance failure has directly led to record-breaking pollution, with hazardous air choking the region and pushing public health to the brink.

We call for urgent, transparent, and scientifically accountable actions; not repression and diversion, to protect the lives, rights, and dignity of every Delhi NCR resident. The Government needs to initiate year-round air pollution crisis management, built on long-term policy preparedness and a prioritization of public health and justice. It is high time for political and bureaucratic authorities to address the rightful angst of the people, setting aside political calculations and vested interests.

Despite years of crisis and public outcry, air pollution remains a severe and escalating public health hazard, with Delhi NCR and several other Indian cities suffering the world's worst air quality. This crisis causes millions of preventable deaths and immense economic losses, while disproportionately impacting poor and marginalized communities, outdoor and informal workers, women, elders, children and those living in congested or industrial areas. Government actions have consistently excluded the most vulnerable, widening environmental injustice.

What is most alarming this year is that, despite clear evidence and expert warnings, the government prioritized appeasement-based political interests over scientific and public health advice, specifically legalizing the sale and use of so-called 'green' crackers for Diwali. This move led to rampant illicit use of fireworks, ignoring the Supreme Court's limited hours order, leading to its weak implementation. The result was record-breaking PM2.5 levels and a dangerous spike in air pollution, with Delhi reporting levels as high as 675 ยตg/m³ (CPCB data) — the worst in four years.

In parallel, non-compliance and apparent fudging of data such as the reported use of water sprinklers near AQI monitors to artificially lower recorded pollution further erode trust and delay meaningful action. The persistent blame games over stubble burning also do not address the reality, especially since, in 2025, its contribution to Delhi's PM2.5 was notably lower than previous years. Year-round vehicle and industry emissions remain the primary drivers. Delhi's pollution emergency demonstrates a deeper governance failure where populist politics has been allowed to overshadow public health and science-led environmental policy.

To genuinely address the roots of Delhi's air pollution emergency, the following immediate and structural measures are essential:
· A time-bound, transparent policy and plan of action to reduce air toxicity and fix accountability of all statutory authorities, as per law.
· Pro-active promotion and comprehensive upgrades to Delhi's public transport as a clear alternative to odd-even private vehicle restrictions.
· Renewed emphasis on both bus and metro infrastructure, as well as the neglected surface rail network, integrated into a unified transport system.
· Implementation of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lanes alongside metro enhancements for high-frequency, accessible public bus services.
· Rapid phase-out and strict control of all non-BS6 diesel vehicles in Delhi NCR, combined with the elimination of diesel fuel subsidies for non-commercial vehicles.
· Highlight the persistent neglect of Delhi's extensive surface rail infrastructure and integrate it with bus and metro systems.
· Reference existing scientific studies (IIT Kanpur 2023, etc.) to identify key pollution sources.
· Stop victimizing farmers for stubble burning and focus on chronic sources like vehicles and industries.
· Enforce a year-round ban on firecrackers and relocate toxic industries such as waste-to-energy (WTE) plants away from residential areas.
· Establish a permanent mechanism for dialogue with environmental and civil society organizations.
· Release real-time, credible air quality data and health advisories in accessible formats.
· Respond to peaceful protest calls with dialogue, not intimidation or arrests.
· Reject any political or religious narrative that delays public health action in environmental emergencies.

NACEJ calls for a scientifically informed, health-centred, long-term air quality management framework for Delhi NCR and all Indian cities. This must feature enforceable bans on new WTE plants, year-round prohibition on firecrackers, and strict controls on construction and vehicular emissions. A reorientation of urban, transport and industrial policy towards safeguarding public health is essential.

Addressing air pollution requires an integrated, inter-sectoral, institutional accountability approach rooted in public well-being and aligned with broader environmental, economic, and development goals. India's future depends on putting public health, social and ecological justice, and constitutional rights of all citizens at the very centre of all environmental and urban policymaking.

Amur Falcon Radio-Tagged and Released in Tamenglong by Forest Officials

Tamenglong, Nov 12, 2025:
In a continued effort to monitor and protect migratory bird species, Manipur Forest officials successfully radio-tagged and released an Amur Falcon in Tamenglong district on Wednesday.

The Amur Falcon, known for its remarkable long-distance migration from Siberia to South Africa, makes a crucial stopover in Tamenglong every year to rest and feed before continuing its journey. The tagging aims to track the bird's migratory route and gather valuable data on its flight patterns and stopover habits.

Forest officials said the tagging initiative is part of a larger conservation effort to ensure the safety of the species during its migration through the Indian subcontinent. "Tamenglong is one of the most important roosting sites for Amur Falcons in the world. Protecting these birds is vital for maintaining global migratory bird diversity," an official said.

Local communities have also played a key role in safeguarding the falcons, which once faced threats from hunting. Conservation awareness and coordinated efforts between villagers and the Forest Department have transformed Tamenglong into a safe haven for the migratory species.

The radio-tagged bird will now provide crucial insights into the migratory journey that spans thousands of kilometres across Asia and Africa, helping researchers strengthen conservation strategies for years to come.
