Neglected and Crumbling: BBMP’s Apathy Towards Miller’s Road

Miller’s Road, a crucial link connecting multiple cities, has been left in a disgraceful state, littered with unnecessary waste -- discarded clothes, tangled wires, and heaps of garbage. Adding to the mess, frequent water leakages in the middle of the road pose a serious danger to passing vehicles, increasing the risk of accidents.

The complete lack of civic responsibility is evident, and yet, the concerned authorities have turned a blind eye. Despite months of neglect, no action has been taken to restore Miller’s Road to a clean and well-maintained condition.

Hey, BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike), wake up! It’s time to pull up your sleeves and get to work. The people of this city deserve better!

Joint Monitoring Group for Harmony holds its First Meeting

Lamka, March 31, 2025: The Joint Monitoring Group for Harmony held its first meeting today at ECT Hall to elect its Convenor and Secretary.

Among the eight members,  Rev. Dr. Lalrosiem Songate, Principal of the Evangelical College of Theology (ECT), was elected as the Convenor and Pu Lalthanghlun Guite, a retired officer Manipur Secretariat Service (MSS), was elected as the Secretary.

The meeting was also attended by Pu Vumsuan Naulak, Chairman,  Zomi Council  and Pu Ros Infimate, President, Hmar Inpui, highlighting the significance of the occasion. It was concluded with a prayer by Rt. Rev. Khup Do Khen, Bishop of MELC.

Myanmar MILITARY JUNTA Launches AIR & ARTILLERY STRIKES Following EARTHQUAKE

 

NAYPYIDAW, March 28 – The Myanmar military junta has carried out 11 air and artillery strikes across the country in the aftermath of a powerful earthquake on March 28. In response to the disaster, authorities have declared a State of Emergency in Sagaing Region, the quake’s epicenter, as well as in Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Naypyidaw, and Shan State.

The developments were reported by DVB English, Myanmar, as the situation continues to unfold.

PRESS STATEMENT

The Village Volunteers Coordinating Committee (VVCC) strongly condemns the Ministry of Home Affairs' initiative to broker a cessation of hostilities agreement between the Kuki-Zo Council, Meitei civil organizations, and the government, without first delivering justice and addressing our longstanding demand for a separate administration in the form of Union Territory with legislative powers.

We unequivocally reject any agreement that fails to prioritize our community's rights and interests. The VVCC will not recognize any agreement reached without a comprehensive political resolution that meets our demands.

Should the Kuki-Zo Council proceed with signing an agreement that compromises our aspirations, the VVCC will take decisive action, including boycotting the council.

We urge the Kuki-Zo community to stand united in our pursuit of justice, permanent peace, and tranquility. We call on the public to continue advocating for our rightful political aspirations, which are deeply rooted in the Indian Constitution and our fundamental rights. Our demands will not be silenced until they are fully achieved.
