A Brief on Bethel Football Academy, New Delhi

 Date: 11.04.2025
RK Puram Sector 3, New Delhi
BETHEL FOOTBALL ACADEMY
PRACTICE SESSION
Coach: Mawia (footballer)
Bethel Football Academy, New Delhi, was founded on June 06, 2022 by Mr. Mawia, a passionate footballer with a heart for mentoring and moulding young talents. With the inspiring motto, "Aim Rising Pro," the academy has been dedicated to training players ranging from Under-5 to Under-19 years of age.

For the past several years, Mr. Mawia has been consistently guiding young athletes—mentally and physically—instilling in them discipline, confidence, and a deep love for the sport. Known for his kindness, dedication, and fitness, he is well-suited to coach and encourage enthusiastic youngsters, many of whom are already showing great promise, while others are just beginning their journey with hopeful dreams for the future.

The academy holds regular practice sessions every evening from 4 PM to 7 PM at the RK Puram sector 3 playground. The monthly fee is set at a very reasonable Rs. 2500, making quality football training accessible to many. Interested persons are always welcome to reach out and join the academy.

Today, the team was honoured by the presence of the editor of KHALVONTAWI MEDIA, who shared a brief but meaningful coaching session with the kids. He encouraged them with practical tips: “Let your eyes follow the ball and the feet that control it. Always face the ball—never kick it from behind without seeing. Watch how the ball rolls. Start learning to control and carry it with focus.”

We extend our warmest wishes to Mr. Mawia and the young players of Bethel Football Academy. May their passion and dedication continue to grow, leading them toward a bright and successful future in football!

                                                                  'MEMORANDUM'

From:
World Kuki-Zo Intellectual Council (WKZIC)-GHQ.

Subject: Refugee Narratives  and Colonial British 126 Kuki Village in Sadar Hills Survey 1911 and Kuki Chiefs Council Statement of Memorandum 1917.

Date: Songpi, the 10th April 2025 (Thursday),

Background: The Kuki Village Survey of 1911 was a comprehensive survey conducted by the British colonial authorities under  the supervision of British Officer Lieutenant Colonel H.W.G Cole CSI, to gather information on the Kuki villages in the Sadar Hills area of Manipur. Here are some details of the survey:

Purpose: The purpose of the survey was to gather information on the Kuki villages in the Sadar Hills area, including their population, economy, social organization, and administrative setup. The survey was conducted to help the British colonial authorities to better understand the Kuki people and their way of life, and to identify areas where they could provide assistance and support.

Methodology: The survey was conducted by a team of British officials, who visited each of the Kuki villages in the Sadar Hills area and collected information through interviews with village leaders, observations, and documentation of existing records. The survey team used a standardized questionnaire to collect information on various aspects of village life, including:

i)  Village name and location -  Population and demographic characteristics
iii) Economy and livelihoods,
iv) Social organization and customs,
v)  Administrative setup and governance,
vi)  Education and healthcare
vii) Infrastructure and amenities.

Findings: The 1911 survey found that there were 126 Kuki villages in the Sadar Hills area, with a total population of approximately 40,000 people. The survey also found that the Kuki people were primarily engaged in agriculture, with many villages practicing shifting cultivation. The survey noted that the Kuki people had a rich cultural heritage, with their own language, customs, and traditions.

Village-Wise Data: The survey collected detailed information on each of the 126 Kuki villages, including the below selected 10 villages which are tabulated as per British colonial era record data of 1911 survey and the British colonial era record, (Imperial Gazetter of India 1911 & Bengal District Gazetter: The Bakarganj District Statistics, 1911-1912 to 1920-1921)._

Kuki Chiefs Council Memorandum to Colonial British Officer 1917

When the colonial British government required Labour Corps to go to France as porters and for various logistic works in Mesopotamia, 2,000 Labour Corps were demanded from Manipur, which the Kuki Chiefs flatly objected. The first meeting of Kuki Chief leaders under Pu Ngulkhup, Chief of Mombi (Lonpi) and Pu Ngulbul, Chief of Longya, and the colonial British officials under the guidance of Lt. Col. H.W.G Cole was held at Oktan, 20.4 kms away from Tamenglong, on the 9 October 1917.

The Kuki Chiefs citing their traditional way of life and reluctance to work abroad, submitted their grievance memo points which is briefly reproduced as below:
i) Forced Labour: That Kuki Chiefs shall not go to France and Mesopotamia as labour corps, whatsover it may be.

ii) Land and Governance: That the colonial British authority must respect Kukis system of governance and land ownership.

iii) Cultural Identity: That the distinct Kuki culture and traditions should be respected  and preserved.

Kuki- British War or Kuki Rising 1917-1919

As the demands of the Kuki Chiefs to the colonial British authority was not accepted by the colonial British authorities, and that of the demand for supplying corps to the Kukis was not fullfilled, the war between the two broke out on the 17th October 1917 at Lonpi, where the British burnt down Lonpi village. The war between the two went on continuosly till the 8th  of December 1919. During this 3 years running war, the colonial British exchequer spent Rs. 28 lakhs (2.8 millions) to suppress the warrior Kuki tribes, the amount which is said to be more than the money spent to suppress the 1857 Indian Revolt or Sepoy Mutiny. This war between the Kukis and the British is recorded as Kuki Rising by the British, and as Kuki Rebellion by Indian Historians, and as Anglo-Kuki War 1917-1919 by the Kukis who fought the war to defend their freedom and liberty.

Rewards and Punishments from Colonial British Authority

Some of the tribal communities who willing went to France as labour corps for logistic works and as porters were favoured by the colonial British officials in the form of creating Tribal Hills as Naga Hills, Khasi-Garo-Jantia Hills, Lushai Hills and Chin Hills respectively. Here below is the chart of various tribal communities supplying Labour Corps to help the colonial British which is tabulated below:

SL.No - Community - Strength of Labour Corps  -  Rewards & Punishments - Remarks :

1.  Naga - 3000 Labour corps - Creation of Naga Hills - NAGALAND,

2. Khasi, Garo, Jantia - 500 Labour Corps each - Creation of Khasi-Garo-Jantia Hills - MEGHALYA.

3.  Lushai - 2100 Labour Corps  -  Creations of Lushai Hills - MIZORAM,'

4. Chin - 3500- Labour Corps - Creation of Chin Hills -  CHIN STATE.

5. Southern Haokip - 500 Labour Corps - Revoked  Haokip Reserved 1907 that was cancelled in 1934-35 in 1941-42 - Drawing of Haokip Reserved Map in 1941-42 which cannot be granted autonomy  or separated with KUKI HILLS.

6. KUKI - Fought British for 3 years - CONCEALING  of Khongjai Hills (1741- 42) later KUKI HILLS (1852-1949) - Colonial British Authorities purposely trifurcated Kuki Hills into 3 International boundaries as PUNISHMENT.

Concluding Monologue:  The colonial British government patronised all the above stated Hills and created a sort of autonomy as rewards, which all later became UT/ States in Independent India, as recommended by the outgoing government who handover the administration to GoI. The Kukis inspite of joining the Indian National Army (INA) under Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose during 1942-1945, undergo the brunt of colonial British anger for more than a century of 108 years (1917-2025), enduring all sorts of hardships and subjugations. Analysing all the social and political upheavals, the Political solutions of the Kukis seem to be not in the hands of the Government of India, as GoI is not at all interested and keen on solving Kuki issue, which is within Indian constitution.

Condemnation of Online Hate Speech & Mockery Towards Pu Vungzagin Valte

To:

The President
Zo Reunification Organization (ZORO), Headquarters

&

The President,
Mizo Students' Union, Headquarters.

Subject: Condemnation of Online Hate Speech and Mockery Towards Pu Vungzagin Valte – An Appeal for Collective Action and Protection of Dignity.

Dear respected leaders of ZORO and MSU,

I write to you not just as a concerned member of the larger Zo community, but as someone deeply pained and outraged by the vile and dehumanizing treatment of one of our own—Pu Vungzagin Valte, the MLA of Thanlon Constituency—through circulating online content that mocks his disability and reduces his dignity to a subject of ridicule.

The video and images currently being shared and captioned by individuals from Kuki-Hmar brethren, calling him a "zombie/Zongmi" and worse, are nothing short of hate speech and ableist harassment. It does not merely insult an individual; it dishonors the entire Zo collective, especially the values of empathy, unity, and respect for the suffering and service of our leaders.

Pu Vungzagin Valte, Thanlon MLA, a man who nearly lost his life during the 2023 violence, now mocked online—his image edited, his disability turned into a meme, his pain used for "likes" and "shares."

This is not freedom of speech. It is digital violence. This is not tribal rivalry. This is inhumanity.

This is what happens when we lose all sense of compassion, when hatred takes over dignity, when trolls are louder than truth.

We DEMAND:

-Immediate condemnation from ZORO HQ and MSU Aizawl HQ.
-Public solidarity with Pu Valte—a Zo elder, a survivor, a symbol of resilience.
-Accountability for those spreading ableist hate.

**Pu Gin Valte sat in a wheelchair because his body was broken—but his spirit remains. And today, we stand not just with the man—but with everything decent and human he represents.**

Let's not let our silence be the soundtrack to this cruelty.

With deep concern and hope,
-The Youths of Eastern Zogam

Six Civilians Killed in Midnight Airstrike on Saizang Village

At around 12 a.m. this morning, Myanmar junta airstrikes struck Saizang village, killing six civilians — two men, two women, and two minors. The victims have been identified as Mr. Pau Sian Kham, Ms. Cing Sen Don, Mr. Kham Ho Van, Ms. Cing Sian Nuam, Ms. Suan Deih Sian, and Ms. Kim Deih Piang.

This brutal attack is yet another grim reminder of the Myanmar military junta’s relentless and inhumane campaign against innocent civilians. The regime continues to violate fundamental human rights, targeting villages and displacing communities through indiscriminate bombings and systematic violence that amount to genocidal acts.

The international community must not remain silent. There is an urgent need for global condemnation and decisive action to hold the junta accountable for its crimes against humanity and to stand in solidarity with the people of Myanmar.

CNA/F Behind the Burning of Zomi Villages: Evidence Points to Deliberate Ethnic Targeting and Propaganda for Funding

The Zomi people continue to suffer devastating attacks from the Chin National Army and its affiliates (CNA/F), who have deliberately targeted Zomi villages and supporters of the Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA EC) in a campaign of arson, intimidation, and ethnic suppression.

Recent incidents in Nakzang and Buangmual are damning proof of this strategy. CNA/F forces deliberately set fire to homes of known ZRA(EC) supporters, leading to uncontrollable fires that destroyed entire villages. These are not isolated incidents, but a systematic pattern of terror that aligns with dozens of similar arson attacks across Zomi territories, including Tedim, Pyidawtha and Tungzang to name a few.

The burning of a home in CNA/F-annexed Tonzang Township, belonging to a ZRA EC supporter Pu Min Lian Mangson, further proves that the CNA/F is directly responsible for past and present acts of arson against the Zomi people.

CNA/F's Intent is Crystal Clear

To erase Zomi resistance by destroying communities that support the ZRA EC.

To dominate Zomi territories through fear and forced displacement.

To collect international funding by spreading false narratives that portray them as victims while painting others as collaborators. It is worth noting that CBCUSA (Chin Baptist Churches USA) remains one of the primary financial backers of CNA/F, either knowingly or through manipulated narratives.

We strongly reject CNA/F's baseless accusations that the ZRA EC is aligned with the junta. The ZRA EC has never cooperated with the State Administration Council (SAC). In contrast, CNA/F's own interactions with the junta are publicly documented as evidenced in our REBUTTAL, including meetings, Chin National Day events and silent agreements that serve their mutual interests.

We urge the public and international observers to fact-check these claims.

The truth is not hidden—it is being ignored.

Demands and Call to Action

1. Independent Investigation: We call for international human rights bodies to investigate the systematic burning of Zomi villages and hold CNA/F accountable.

 2. Defund the Perpetrators: We urge humanitarian donors and international organizations to cease all                        financial support to the CNA/F until transparency and accountability are guaranteed.

  3. Stand with the Zomi People: Media, human rights advocates, and regional stakeholders must stand in solidarity with the victims of CNA/F's war crimes.

4. Combat Disinformation: The CNA/F's propaganda machine must be exposed. We call on responsible journalists and civil society to share verified facts and testimonies.

The Zomi people will not be erased by fire or fear. We will speak the truth. We will seek justice. And we will stand resilient in the face of destruction.

ZOMI FLAG REHOISTED

Zomi Flag Rehoisted at V. Munhoih: Community Demands Justice and Respects Its Own Jurisdiction

LAMKA, April 9, 2025 —   The Zomi flag has been rightfully rehoisted within the jurisdiction of V. Munhoih, New Lamka — a clear expression of Zomi pride and identity.
It is deeply troubling that while rapists remain at large, the Churachandpur SP/OC has acted swiftly to remove the Zomi flag instead. We urge authorities to focus on delivering justice to victims, not targeting peaceful acts within our own territory.

We also strongly caution those who oppose or interfere: this action took place within our land and under our authority. You have no right to meddle in matters that do not concern you. Disrespect toward the Zomi flag will not be tolerated.

The Zomi people stand firm — in peace, pride, and the protection of our identity.

Pu Vungzagin receives Emotional Welcome in Mizoram

Thanlon MLA Pu Vungzagin Valte Receives Emotional Welcome in Mizoram After Nearly Two Years

Lengpui, Aizawl – April 9, 2025: Thanlon MLA Pu Vungzagin Valte made a poignant return to Mizoram on Wednesday, marking his first visit to the state since the tragic events of May 2023. Arriving at Lengpui Airport, he was received with warmth and solidarity by members of the Mizo Students' Union (MSU), who organized a brief yet heartfelt reception program.

The event, held within the airport premises, saw a moving speech delivered by the mother of Champhai North MLA, Pu Ginzalal. Speaking at the podium, she welcomed Pu Valte back to the land of his kind, expressing deep respect and empathy for all that he has endured.

MLA Pu Valte, who has been through a long period of recovery and resilience following the brutal attack during the ethnic violence in Manipur in 2023, appeared visibly moved as he was wheeled in. The short but meaningful ceremony was attended by supporters, local leaders, and members of the public who came to show their support and admiration.

A banner displayed at the venue read, "Warm Welcome to Mizoram, Hon'ble MLA Pu Vungzagin Valte, Thanlon Constituency, Manipur" — a clear symbol of the unity and compassion extended by the Mizo community.

Pu Valte's return marks a significant emotional moment for many, symbolizing courage, healing, and the enduring strength of communal bonds.
