Dear Sir/ Madam,

 

I, on behalf of the Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) Delhi,  would like to request you(s) to kindly send your reporter/ correspondent to cover our big event -- ‘SILVER JUBILEE’ -- celebration on November 5th (Monday), 2012 at Sri Fort Auditorium-I, Lodhi Road, New Delhi from 2pm to 8 pm.

 

Hon’ble Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has consented to grace the auspicious occasion as the CHIEF GUEST.  Besides, Shri Oscar Fernandes, Hon’ble MP (Rajya Sabha) and Shri Dinesh Singh, Vice Chancellor, University of Delhi will kindly grace as the GUESTS OF HONOUR; and Shri Lunngaisang Vaiphei, General Secretary, KSO (Ghq) as the FUNCTIONAL PRESIDENT. Shri Thangso Baite, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha) has also assured us to grace as the JUBILEE PA (Father of the Jubilee).

 

Kuki Students’ Organisation Delhi, established on 18th August 1987, is the representative body of the Kuki students living in Delhi & NCR. Now we are in the 25th year, so we are arranging this big event to show our happiness and solidarity to our people in the national capital region.

 

The Silver Jubilee Celebration will showcase the rich cultures of the Kukis of the Northeast India and Myanmar.  The unique cultural items, traditional dress, dances, costumes, etc will be display beautifully on this auspicious day.

The Zomi Students' Federation Delhi Cell is once again in new face. Under the initiative of Zomi Youth Association Delhi Region, the office-bearers for ZSF Delhi Cell were elected by its constituent members on 24th October, 2012 during the 4th ZSF Delhi Cell Office-Bearers Formation Meeting at JNUSU Office, New Delhi. The term for this office-bearer will be three years, i.e. 2012-2015.

ZSF Delhi Cell elected Office-Bearers for 2012-2015

The Zomi Students' Federation Delhi Cell is once again in new face. Under the initiative of Zomi Youth Association Delhi Region, the office-bearers for ZSF Delhi Cell were elected by its constituent members on 24th October, 2012 during the 4th ZSF Delhi Cell Office-Bearers Formation Meeting at JNUSU Office, New Delhi. The term for this office-bearer will be three years, i.e. 2012-2015.

The ZSF federates viz. Zou Sangnaupang Pawlpi (ZSP), Siamsinpawlpi (SSPP), Khangthah Zuun Pawl (KZP), Tedim Chin Students’ Association (TCSA), Zillai (Vaiphei Students’ Association) and Khalvontawi (Thangkhal Sinlai Pawlpi) supported and participated in forming the office-bearers for ZSF Delhi Cell.  

The meeting was chaired by Pu Vumsuan Naulak, President, ZYA Delhi Region, who welcomed and highlights the purpose of meeting to the members present. Pu Nang Lian Kham, Joint Secretary, ZYA DR opens the meeting with a word of prayer. Pu Mangzamuan, Secretary, Information & Publicity, ZYA DR, Rev. T. Liankholal (special invitee) and Pu Lamlun Munluah (special invitee) were also present in the meeting.

Mr. Nang Lian Kham read out the list of the nominated candidates for ZSF Delhi Cell.  The following were the nominees of Delhi-based respective student organisations:

1. SSPP                  :        Khanthang Shoute and Manthianching
2. KZP                    :        Hatngaihvung and Soimuanlal
3. ZSP                    :        M. Robert and Ginsuanlal
4. TCSA                  :        David Kap Khan Thang Sukte, Lian Sian Dong Suante and Michael Khual Za Lian Ngaihte
5. Khalvontawi         :        Bruce K. Thangkhal
6. Zillai                   :        Khawmlal, Boilun Vaiphei and Goulian

The election was held in a free and fair manner. The constituent members cast their votes in ballot paper. In the post of President and Finance Secretary, the two candidates got equal number of votes. Re-poll took place twice. This is how fairness in the ZSF Delhi Cell election.

In accordance with the Constitution of Zomi Students’ Federation, the post of President, General Secretary, Finance and Information & Publicity was elected. The following were elected as ZSF Delhi Cell office-bearers (2012-2015):-
1. Mr. Bruce K. Thangkhal           –        President
2. Mr. Khanthang Shoute            –        General Secretary
3. Miss Manthianching                –        Finance Secretary
4. Mr. David Kap Khan Thang Sukte –    Secretary, Information & Publicity

The newly elected office-bearers took oath before Rev. Liankholal, who administered the oath-taking and blessed the newly elected office-bearers with humble prayer. Rev. Liankholal encouraged the elected leaders to work honestly and truthfully for the upliftment of our people, and to do good things and to remember God in any dealings. After the oath-taking, Pu Nang Lian Kham, Jt. Secy, ZYA DR gave incharge to the newly elected president, Bruce K. Thangkhal. The ZYA Delhi Region handed over the files of ZSF Delhi to its president during the meeting.   

The officials of ZSF constituent members who have witnessed and participated in the meeting were: Mr. Lianlalmuan, Secretary, SSPP; Mr. Dousuanlal, President, KZP; Mr. Phunglianpau, Secretary, KZP; Mr. Thangsuankhup, President, ZSP; Mr. Lamboi Suantak, General Secretary, ZSP; Khawmlal, Vice President, Zillai; Mr. David Kap Khan Thang Sukte, President, TCSA; Mr. Lian Suan Lal Suante, Secretary, TCSA; and Mr. Kammuanmung, Chairman, Khalvontawi Delhi.

The Zomi Students’ Federation, Delhi Cell has been already formed on 28th July, 2007. As special invitee, Pu Lamlun Munluah, who has been actively involved in ZSF Delhi Cell since its inception, gave a brief report about the activities of ZSF Delhi Cell. The sudden death of Mr. Soilal Hangluah, President of ZSF Delhi Cell, has unfortunately left a big vacuum in the organisational set-up. In the meanwhile, the dwindling of its executive members also led into the defunct of this federation in the recent past. “Today we remembered our brother, Mr. (late) Soilal Hangluah and deeply mourned for his untimely death. We expressed our grief and sorrow to his beloved family”.

Earlier three meetings held, the first-three went in vain. It was only in this 4th meeting, a new and vibrant face of ZSF Delhi Cell came up progressively. After a deliberate discussion, with the thanksgiving prayer to Almighty God by Rev. T. Liankholal, the meeting concluded. All the members present joined together the gracious dinner at the end. “We are really thankful to ZYA Delhi Region for painstakingly conducting several meetings to bring back ZSF Delhi Cell into new face. We expressed our sincere thanks to ZYA Delhi Region for their efforts”. “We will work for the betterment of the Zomis as well as for the cause of tribals in our land”.

Zogam Today Leaps Forward: From Monthly Magazine to Daily Newspaper on Oct 30

Imphal, Oct 24, 2012 : The multi-lingual monthly magazine Zogam Today is set to hit the market as daily newspaper from October 30 onwards. 
The magazine, which came up with its first issue in May last year, is now gearing up to become one of the daily newspapers of Churachandpur district in Manipur, says Zogam Today editor S. Nengkhanlun, who is also the Secretary of Manipur Hill Journalists Union (MHJU).

The editor told that Zogam Today (an independent daily newspaper) will be released by the Chief Guest Ginsuanhau Zou, MLA Singngat A/C on October 30.

 Langkhanpau Guite, chairman, ADC, CCpur and Jacintha Lazarus IAS, DC, CCpur will kindly grace the inaugural function as the Guest of Honour and Functional President respectively.

“Zogam Today follows a strong principle of ‘Journalism without barriers’. Now we are working hard to bring out the first issue. We will begin our work from Zogam Today office starting on October 25. We are committed to truth, honest and unbiased towards news reporting”, the editor said.

Come October 30, Zogam Today will be an independent daily newspaper. Since then the paper will hit its stand daily.

The first-two issue of Zogam Today will be distributed as free copies. The paper will be delivered to the subscribers every morning. The subscription fee is only Rs. 100/- per month.

Shifting from monthly magazine to daily newspaper, the Zogam Today aims to bring out unbiased news and information to the people of Churachandpur as well as Manipur.

Zogam Today editorial team is headed by S. Nengkhanlun as Editor with his associates Bruce K. Thangkhal as Joint Editor, Johnson Pau as News Editor and Lalboi Gangte as Reporter. 

The contributors/correspondents include T. Zamlunmang Zou (Shillong), S. Thangboi Zou (Shillong), Suanlyan Tungnung (Mumbai) and Kamlianlal Zou (New Delhi).

The Office of Zogam Today has been inaugurated by Rev. S.K. Manlun with prayer on October 14 in the presence of Zogam Today editor S. Nengkhanlun, advisers Michael Ginzasuan, DSO, CCpur, S.Kaikhankap, ARCS and Mannuamching MCS, CEO, CCpur. 

The office is located at P. Kamdou Veng, only a kilometre distance from Lamka Police Station.

Zogam Today magazine has completed 16 months before it took complete transformation, monthly to daily. The last issue of this magazine is coming up within this month. 

The editor thanked the advisers, patron members, contributors and well-wishers, who are indeed the backbone of Zogam Today magazine. The editor further requested them to still extend their hands in the coming days.
