Tragic Rockfall Claims Three Lives Near Lengpui in Mizoram

A tragedy struck this afternoon around 3:45 PM near Lengpui when a large rock dislodged from a roadside slope and crushed a car.

According to initial reports, the vehicle carried Mr. Lalrinliana and his wife from Falkland, Aizawl along with their son and daughter. They were travelling on the road when the falling rock struck their car. Sadly, Mr. Lalrinliana, his wife Mrs. Lungtiawii, and their daughter, Vanlalhruaii, were killed in the incident.

Their son, Lallawmzuala, who was driving the car, survived the impact. He was rescued from the vehicle and immediately rushed to the hospital.

The  family had just been to Lengpui Airport to welcome home their daughter returning from Singapore and another son who arrived from Dehradun. Fortunately, the son from Dehradun was travelling in a separate vehicle.

This devastating accident occurred as the four family members were heading home from the airport in their car.

Wife abuser NAOCHA KHAIDEM arrested

On 27/04/2025, a Zero FIR is registered at Women PS, CCPur on the basis of a written report regarding domestic violence case meted  out to Mrs. Nengneihoi(25) yrs, who was married to Mr. Naocha Khaidem of Tangjeng, under Kumbi-PS, Bishnupur District, Manipur, by her husband and other members of the family. The said victim is currently undergoing treatment at District Hospital CCPur.
Based on the Zero FIR a case has been registered in Women Police Station,Imphal East District.
Investigation of the case is in progress and the husband, namely Mr. Khaidem Naocha (28 years) s/o of Kh. Jugindro Singh of Tangjeng Ahalup, Bishnupur under Kumbi PS A/P New checkon, Imphal East has been arrested by the Police for further investigation.

Brutal Abuse of Kuki Woman by Meitei Husband and Meira Paibis Condemned

28th April 2025 --- The Kuki Women Organisation for Human Rights (KWOHR) strongly condemns the barbaric and inhumane acts perpetrated against Ms. Nengneihoi, a 21-year-old Kuki woman, by her Meitei husband, Mr. Inaocha Khaidem, and members of the Meira Paibis.

Ms. Nengneihoi, originally from Tangjing, Bishnupur District and residing in New Checkon, Imphal, endured severe physical and psychological torture at the hands of her husband and Meira Paibis. She was brutally beaten, tied to a bed with her hands and legs bound, and left without food and water for three days.

Mr. Khaidem later contacted Nengneihoi's cousin, claiming he was sending her away for her safety, citing the ongoing ethnic violence against Kukis. Believing it was an act of care, her family agreed. However, Nengneihoi was abandoned at Ningthoukong Gate, where a Kabui neighbor came to her aid and transported her to a Kuki village. Upon her arrival, she collapsed from exhaustion and injuries. Her family discovered bruises covering her entire body, the result of days of extreme violence.

It is crucial to highlight that in 2023, Ms. Nengneihoi had already survived an attempted murder by members of the extremist group Arambai Tenggol, who slit her throat and left her by the roadside. She survived due to the intervention of the Manipur Police and timely medical treatment.

The KWOHR expresses deep disappointment that the Meira Paibis, a group historically formed to defend the rights and dignity of women, have turned into instruments of ethnic hatred and violence. As the ethnic cleansing of Kuki communities by Meitei groups continues, Meira Paibis have repeatedly been complicit in acts of violence, including the rape, torture, and killing of Kuki women and girls.

The Kuki Women Organisation for Human Rights calls upon:

All national and international human rights organizations,

Women's rights groups,

And civil society at large

to strongly condemn these ongoing atrocities in Manipur.

We urge immediate intervention to ensure justice for Ms. Nengneihoi and protection for all vulnerable Kuki women facing systemic abuse and violence.

Justice must prevail. Silence is complicity.

Have informed IGP of Uttarkhand and have spoken to IGP just now for Police action, but need some one from NE states to give her moral support etc.Also told the family also to approach Women Commission of the state also for help . And also to meet the DGP/ IGP of the state for help etc.

It's heart breaking to see number of such assaults and abandoned after few years by their so called hubbies ( initially told their family members that their husband is different and truly loved her .)

It's tragic and heart wrenching to see our sisters being left with a child after few years of so called blissful marriage .

Trend is increasing more .... Facebook and other social media has added more such hasty desison of marriage and immediate broken of this temporary relationship. 

Lessons to be learnt by us before rushing to marriage with such heartless men on prowl to hook for few years.

Lotus Temple Delhi | Photos

The Lotus Temple, located in New Delhi, is one of India’s most beautiful and peaceful places of worship. It was completed in 1986 and is a Bahá’í House of Worship, open to people of all religions. The temple was designed by Fariborz Sahba, an Iranian architect, who took inspiration from the shape of a lotus flower, a symbol of purity and peace in Indian culture.

ISKCON Delhi was inaugurated on 5 April 1998 by the former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. It is located at Hare Krishna Hills, Sant Nagar, East of Kailash, South Delhi, India. 

The construction of the temple took about 10 years and cost around $10 million (about ₹70 crores at that time). The funds were contributed by Bahá’í followers around the world. The building is made of white marble from the Penteli mountains in Greece, the same marble used in many famous monuments.

The Lotus Temple has 27 marble petals arranged in groups of three to form nine sides, with nine doors opening into a large central hall that can hold over 2,500 people. There are no idols, rituals, or sermons — only silent prayer and meditation.

The main purpose of the Lotus Temple is to promote unity, peace, and harmony among all faiths, reflecting the Bahá’í belief that “all religions are one.” It remains one of India’s top tourist attractions and a symbol of spiritual unity.
