Basic Instincts

- Ar. qoob Tungnung, Delhi

“Our (Human) basic Instincts are very similar to those of Animal Instincts”. When a Hound dog, a Wolf or for that matter a Tiger smells Blood, it readies itself for the kill and strikes with deathly accuracy.

Misery, Pain, Misfortunes, etc attracts humans like a carcass in the desert attracts vultures and other scavengers. Facts are stranger than Fiction. For instances ;
1. Prostitution ; one of the oldest professions on earth is supposedly one of the best revenue earners to the Govt. in Prague City or for the matter Amsterdam, Holland.

Ragailong blast victims left in the lurch

IMPHAL, Jul 4: Out of 18 persons who lost their lives in the Ragailong bomb blast last year, the family mem-bers of eight victims have not received any compen-sation from the side of the State or the Central Govern-ment while from among the injured only 16 have been compensated by the State Government.

In all 18 persons lost their lives while 38 others sus-tained injuries in the power- ful bomb blast that took place near Ragailong Vil-lage gate at around 7.30 pm on October 25 last year.

I stand by and applaud Lal Thanhawla’s remarks

David M. Thangliana, Aizawl, Mizoram
29 June 2009

Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla’s remarks in Singapore about his racism experience even in his own country has certainly caused a commotion in India with the media taking a more than a passing interest to what could have caused the CM to utter such remarks that could give India a bad name in the international community. To some, especially those Indian delegates attending Singapore’s International Water Week, Lal Thanhawla’s remarks were in poor taste and completely out of context with the reason they had come to Singapore. On the other hand, most people of the North East, including myself, welcomed the remarks since they are completely true.My childhood experiences in Calcutta (now Kolkata) have been indelibly imprinted in my memories much as I would like to forget them.

More North East Political Bureaucratic should be Open on Racism
NE Helpline Salutes Mizoram CM for Bold on Racism

New Delhi, June 27, 2009

North East Support Centre & Helpline salutes Chief Minister of Mizoram Pu Lalthanhawla for his bold statement on racial discrimination meted out to himself and north east Indian communities. More political bureaucratic and civil societies must come openly on the reality of racism discrimination meted out to North East people.

Mizoram CM denies calling Indians racist

Mizoram CM denies calling Indians racist
27 Jun 2009 [TNN]

NEW DELHI: Mizoram chief minister Lal Thanhawla has denied saying that Indians were racist or that he was a “victim of racism”. The CM was quoted extensively in the media as saying in Singapore that Indians too were racist. He reportedly cited his own example, saying he was asked by people if he was Nepali because of his physical features.

Many hail Mizoram CM’s statement

IMPHAL, Jun 26 [TSE]: Imphal: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalthanhawla’s statement that he too was a victim of racism but in India, his home country has been hailed by a number of social activists and general public terming it as a bold statement. Lalthanhawla made the statement at a conference in Singapore yesterday. Sobita Mangsatabam , a key leader of Women Action for Development ( Wad), a prominent NGO in the State said, ‘‘He (Lalthan-hawla) is bold enough to highlight the true pangs buried in the minds of the people of the north east region before the interna- tional forum. We strongly hail his statement’’.

Echoing Lalthanhawlas statement, Sobita said she does not feel good when she stays in metropolitan cities of India, but feels secure in South East Asian countries.

‘‘Whenever I land in Kolkata, New Delhi, Chen-nai or any other cities of the country, people always asked me if I am from Nepal or some from other countries. They do not respect me as a fellow citizen even after knowing that I’m from Manipur’’, Sobita lamented. ‘‘I feel secure when I go to South east Asian countries. The hospitality given by the people of these countries is quite different from what our own country men do. This is very unfortunate’’, she added.

Social worker Achinpou Gangmei, who is also the advisor of Tamenglong Public Forum, said the statement that has come from such a leader and responsible person like the Chief Minister of a State has virtually taught a lesson to those people living in mainland India who ignore the NE people.

‘‘The mainland people should first correct their mindset to think that the NE people are also the citizens of India before they put their blame on others’’. Gangmei said. The freque-nt incidents of murder, rape, molestation and manhandling of girls from Northeast India by the mainland people is enough example of such undesired outlook, he said, while questioning the meaning and significance of the ongoing campaign for Nati- onal integration when the people of Northeast India are being looked down and treated as third class citizens ‘‘These are all hollow campaigns’’, Gangmei added. Many students studying in the National capital and other big cities of the country too have welcomed the statement of Lalthanhawla.

I’ve faced racism within the country: Mizo CM

Singapore, June 25: At a time when racial attacks against Indian students in Australia have attracted comments from the top leadership in both countries, Mizoram Chief Minister Pu Lalthanhawla Thursday said he too was a victim of racism – but in India. Speaking at a conference on water at the Singapore International Water Week, the Chief Minister said: “In India, people ask me if I am an Indian.” “When I go south, people ask me such questions. They ask me if I am from Nepal or elsewhere. They forget that the northeast is part of India. I have told many that see, I am an Indian like you,” Lalthanhawla said

“I am a victim of racism,” he said. Indians consist of three races – “Dravidians, Aryans and we in the northeast,” Lalthanhawla said.

Though many northeastern students complain of such discrimination in places like New Delhi, a state Chief Minister speaking in an international podium about an issue unrelated to the subject concerned was not liked by other Indian delegates present.

“This is unfair. We Indians are always divided and this is visible in a water event too. Many Australians must be feeling happy here,” said an Indian delegate requesting anonymity.

In the past one month at least 16 Indian students in Australia have faced racial attacks. The latest was a Hyderabad student, Mir Kazim Ali Khan, studying at Victoria Institute

A NORTHEAST BOY ATTACKED, MIRACULOUSLY ESCAPE FROM DEATH

A NORTHEAST BOY ATTACKED, MIRACULOUSLY ESCAPED FROM DEATH
(Australians attacked Indians, Indians attacked Indian Northeast)

- Khaalnou

While the Indians boldly criticized the Australians, the same racial discrimination continues in India. Racial attacked to North East communities erupt again in the heart of Delhi city.

Recently, a north-east girl of Delhi University was molested by her teacher in Mukherjee Nagar while Helena, her brother and her cousin were abused by her landlady in Naraina village.

Now comes….A 23-year-old boy of Manipur working in private restaurant was attacked inside a maruti car by three unidentified men in Najafgarth of south-west Delhi on Saturday mid-night. The boy was beaten into black and blue. He was attempted to kill but miraculously escaped from the jaws of death.

The incident happened at 1200 hrs on June 13, 2009 when the boy boarded a maruti car from his office, ‘Punjab Foot Point A.C. Family Restaurant’ at Najafgarth towards his home, Jaroda Kalan.

Unexpectedly, the boy was suddenly questioned by those three men who were inside the car. One of them asked the boy, “Are you Nepali?” and teased him with racial remarks. Then another guy asked him whether he carry any gadgets like mobile phones or some thing else. The boy replied them with humbly. Then those guys began laughing at him with all lewd comments.

Soon after that, the driver speed-up the car faster. The boy was frightened and he was helpless inside the moving car. The boy tried to go out of the vehicle. Then three man began attacking him. “They are punching me, kicking me, slapping and grasping me” said the boy in misery. The boy pleaded for their mercy, but his prayer was unheard all the way through. The car doors and windows were closed. He could not move nor defense himself. His nose was severely bleeding with a sharp cut on his eyebrows and bruise marks on his body.

The notorious guys took away his mobile handset, money purse and every thing he had on that fateful night.

Fortunately, the boy kick opened one of the side door. Through this, he jumped out immediately. According to the helpless boy, “he was continuously beaten for more than half an hour inside the moving car”.

Only few minutes passed, those guys came back in a group of 20-30 men in one truck to kill the north east boy.

Seeing a group of man repeatedly shouting, “Catch him…, Beat Him…, Kill Him…”, the boy ran for his life, though he could not walk properly after his wounds. The boy was chased along the road to Jaroda Kalan. At last he reached the gate of CRPF and entered therein.

The miscreants left the spot quickly. The registered number of the vehicles is not yet identified.

The boy belongs to Gelbung village of Sadar hills in Manipur. Just two months passed, he has been in Delhi. At present, he is staying with his brother, a CRPF in CRPF Camp at Jaroda Kalan.

No wonders the racial attacks on the north-east people is increasing day by day.

Manipuri girl in DU alleges molestation by teacher

Manipuri girl in DU alleges molestation by teacher

19 Jun 2009 [TOI]
New delhi : An 18-year-old Delhi University student was allegedly molested by her teacher at a tuition center in Mukherjee Nagar area of north-west Delhi on Thursday afternoon. The accused has been arrested following a complaint from the girl. The victim is a first-year undergraduate student of a North Campus college and belongs to Manipur.

Ironically, she used to go to the tuition centre in Vijay Nagar area to learn Hindi. Her efforts to improve her communication skills in the language that the city speaks brought her face to face with a harsh reality: she was allegedly sexually harassed by Yogesh Kumar Arora (32), who used to give her the lessons in Hindi.

Police said the student had joined the coaching institute on June 10 this year. "Yogesh, one of the teachers at the institute, started making sexual advances towards her right from the beginning. This culminated in the incident on Thursday which finally drove her to the police,'' said a senior police officer.

"The girl initially kept quiet but when Yogesh persisted, she protested and warned him, but he threatened her. Finally, he forced himself on the girl but she managed to raise an alarm and run away,'' added the officer.

On Thursday evening, the victim narrated the incident to her brother after which she lodged a complaint with the police along with the north-east student council members at Mukherjee Nagar police station, said N S Bundela, DCP (northwest). "We then arrested him,'' he said.

The president of the city's N-E helpline, Lansinglu Rongmei, said, "We came to know about the complaint from the victim's brother after which we approached the police.'' A case under section 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman) has been registered. The victim has been living in the city for the past one year along with her brother.

This year there have already been 200 cases of molestation in the Capital. Last year, there had been strong protests from north-east organisations after a spate of molestation incidents, including several cases involving those appearing for the Delhi Police exams.

OZ Nazi'sm and The 7 Sisterhood in Delhi

OZ Nazi'sm and The 7 Sisterhood in Delhi
- Ar. qoob Tungnung

MAY 2003, a fresh graduate, I walked the streets of Chitaranjan Park, Munirka, etc in search of a room. After a few days of hardwork under the scorching heat of Delhi I managed to secured a room as well as a place to work. The Autowalas, the vendors, the property agents, landlords, etc, need not be mention as their behavior and practices are painfully familiar to us all.

The most relevant thing I have learned in the first few months of my training as a Professional was the fact that “Life ain't Fair and that I need to get used to it”. The concept is undoubtedly proverbial and consoling to some. However, it's better left to one's personal judgement and contemplation, and highly arguable.

To some NE-Zens, Indian Nationalism and national integration are ideas as alien as Latin or Jupiter. That very fact has been reciprocated unwittingly or otherwise, appropriately by some of the Denizens in their beliefs and practices towards North Eastern states and its NE-Zens. “What can't be help must be endured”, says a great saint. But, we ain't no saints and believe you me there's bitterness, distrust and discrimination amongst us Indians. I can't be explicit as to whether it is regionalism, religion or racism. Our collective achievements and developments are the measure of our society's development and the few singular achievements attained by a few can never be the the standard for our society as a whole. Despite our varied achievements in the fields of IT, management, human resources, etc, we have been living with the social illness that is predominantly practice and promoted even by the elite, enlightened and well educated individuals.

An introspection would undeniably confirm that the problem with our democracy and freedom has been and would always be with the intellectuals, the rich and influential rather than the paupers and laborers. We take pride and glorified ourselves as the largest democracy in the world and it's sad to see it happening otherwise. Our eminent writers and philosophers comparison of our state of affairs with that of the US is disturbing at best. We still live and thrive in the days of the British raj and the Maharaja's. The legacy of their colonialism, that, we have miserably failed to skimmed and cleansed ourselves of.

The advent of Modern Day Politics into the Indian political scene marked a monumental departure from the ideologies that have bind India together as a nation. The values of family have been sacrificed at the political altar. This led to the degradation in family values at home in particular and in the country in general. Brothers and cousins severing blood ties at the political altar is the new mantra. These irrevocably sunk us into a world that is not “Enough” by any standards. Whatever happen to the Rajiv-Sanjay Gandhi Family ??!! These reminds me of James Bond movie theme song “ The world is not enough”. It's true politics has no religion nor family. It's a living concrete jungle in itself and a one way Traffic with only one sign at it's door, “ENTRY” and no “EXIT” door whatsoever.

The harbinger of Love and it's origination had and would always be a mystery so long as we remain in this mortal form of ours. For all practical and theoretical purposes the highest form of love has failed me and I never thirst for it's unlocking nor do I quenched from its ideals. I retrospect in melancholy how a little love would heal and does wonders in our ailing society. However, that feeling of patriotism and love has been as elusive as ever and we stand tall and aloof from each other as ever before.

One might say “ Delhi is a true metro city with it's inhabitants comprising of Marathi's, Tamils, Kerelites, Haryana, Punjabis, etc and so on. However, one has the tendency to conveniently failed to mention the Chinky's of the NE-states. A more apt and tactful wording would be the largest hypocrisy rather than the largest democracy in the world. Correct me If I'm wrong “Democracy is majority rule and minority rights, however, would one be so tactless to say “Majority rule and minority Overrule”.

Dare we accused the OZ of being racist ? It could have been isolated incidences wherein the victim happens to be of Indian origin. We shout, curse and refute all claims made by peacekeepers the fact that the case is not so. Pessimism is a prelude to hatred, chaos and violence. Whereas, optimism is the harbinger of love, unity and universal brotherhood. Our arrogance in the OZ matter would only intensify the situation. Let's retrospect our own environment and let the good work start at home first. “Lets do unto others what we want others to do unto us”. I do not retrospect and scribble this sentences to provoke neither do i nurture hatred. I merely expressed an individuals perspective on the issues currently traumatizing the whole nation. Don't you dare call me prejudice about my belief amongst the 1001 castes, tribes and clans of India. As a matter of fact I hate one and all. I believe that prejudices, opportunities, hatred, pessimism, optimism, destiny, etc are what we created in our minds. Pessimism & optimism are within us, and that it's an intrinsic factor rather than an extrinsic one . We're the ingress and egress of the positive and negative vibes that influence our outlooks and habits. Let's work towards a stronger nation and build unity and integrity amidst us.

A brief retrospection into the history of Indian politicos and bureaucracy. With the formation of INC under the able guidance of Nehruji & Gandhiji saw a transformation, an awakening amongst the Desi Mass from the butcher to the diplomats and Maharaja's of the erstwhile Indian provinces. One and all fight to attain freedom from the British colonialism. The North Eastern states of India, we, whether we like it or not, pay obeisance to India's Nationalism and democratic ideals and pay taxes to the Govt. of India and allegiance to its constitution. Don't we deserve better and be treated equally. Maybe we prefer our memories to be short when it comes to equality and equal opportunities for all. It's a fact, history's written by the winners of the war. The freedom fighters of the North East what were their names ??!!, I can't seem to recollect. Perhaps, in our haste and prejudices we haven't taken any records of the people who have sacrifice their lives and hand over their land and kingdoms in obeisance to a far greater nation, India.

“JAI HO”!!!!

PS: It's not an angst nor an act of defiance against any culture, people, country, community or religion. As a matter of fact, it's an attempt on my part to do my bit in the society. And yea, please do feel free to rebuke me where called for, if required.

Zoram: A Promised Land or a Distant Illusion?

MIZORAM is known as the most peaceful state in India. The renowned title ‘The Switzerland of India’ was its beautiful crown. This is the only land where the ZO people could settle peacefully. Many of our people have flocked to Mizoram’s capital city, Aizawl. Since Manipur is plagued by dreadful afflictions -- curfews, bandhs, strikes, killings, kidnappings, and more -- many have fled to the state of Mizoram. Our brethren from the Chin Hills, who live in misery under the oppressive Burmese regime, have had to run for their lives. Our nearest Zogam is Zoram -- our destined land. In this land, we can live and die. However, reality is far more challenging upon arrival. “Has the distant charm deceived us?” many lament in Zoram.

AIZAWL

Though the Mizos claim “Mizoram is the land of Zofa,” something is missing. It is the only land on earth where we can breathe the fresh ZO air and be laid to rest in some quiet corner forever. The problems in Manipur and the Chin Hills remain almost identical to this day. Why, then, are Chin refugees -- who fled their beloved homeland under the brutal Burmese military -- treated with such hostility in Zoram? Why do the Aizawl police relentlessly pursue the Burmese in every nook and cranny? Why do state organisations (NGOs) also stand so firmly against these helpless people?

The Burmese are international refugees, and their plight cannot simply be ignored. They deserve our sympathy. Their pro-democratic struggle has brought them to this desperate stage. The Burmese Chins have placed their trust in the Mizos -- what, then, have the Mizos done in return? The Burmese Chins may be distant cousins, but they remain close relatives. Our shared history originates from the Chin Hills.

Mizoram, best known for its gospel, seems to have little compassion for the impoverished Chins. The famous Mizo song “Insuihkhawm Zai I Rel Ang U” carries no real application in practice. This song epitomises unity, yet its meaning remains unfulfilled. Most Mizo patriotic songs are superb, but the Mizos themselves fail to grasp their true essence. “The Song No Go,” the well-known phrase among Lamka’s Zomi Fins, holds a deeper meaning than it appears.

The Burmese Chins are our brothers and sisters; we ought to treat them with kindness. A time will come when they may be of help to us. Who knows!

WHO WE ARE

WHO WE ARE
- Khaalnou

The people of CHIN-KUKI-MIZO-ZOMI scattered in different geographical areas, namely, 1) Chittagong Hilll tracts of Bangladesh, 2) Chin hills of Myanmar, 3) Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura & Nagaland states of India.

Today, we are being called as Chin, Kuki, Mizo, Zomi. Thus these nomenclatures became our greatest differences. Every one loves his/her own community/group. No one accepted other's nomenclature. Our opinions are totally different. We often talk of UNITY and often claimed as "The Sons of ZO" = 'ZO SUAN or ZO FA or Chhinlung/Sinlung/Khul A Piang'. Our hearts does not have space for the love of one another. The Spirit of Unification is dying day by day. The word Unification is merely a lip service in today's world. This engulfed us in many ways.

A man who called himself CHIN may not accept Mizo/Zomi/Kuki and vice-versa. Some years back in Mizoram, the Burmese Chin (Zo people) were unlawfully sent back by the Young Mizo Association. Lamka (Manipur) had also witnessed a bitter enemity among the Kukis and Zomis. Many Kukis had also sacrificed their blood during the Mizo National Front's FREEDOM MOVEMENT. The Mizos turned a deaf ear towards the Kukis' sufferings during Kuki-Naga clashes. It's time to learn new lesson from the past mistakes. Let us march ahead under the banner of "The Unification Of The Scattered ZO's"

I have a BIG QUESTION today.
Will the CHINS accept ZOMI? Will the ZOMIS accept CHIN?
Will the KUKIS accept ZOMI? Will the ZOMIS accept KUKI?
Will the KUKIS accept CHIN? Will the CHINS accept KUKI?
Will the MIZOS accept CHIN? Will the CHINS accept MIZO?
Or, will they all accept ZO?
What is YOUR ANSWER for all these?

To be a great nation, we should be folded in ONE NOMENCLATURE. So that the world will know us. Now, we are lagging behind the world's shadow.

We all wants to be ONE but we could not, in reality.

If the CHINs, KUKIs, MIZOs and ZOMIs could unite today, we could boldly shake the WORLD in future.

UNIFICATION OF THE ZO PEOPLES - is what we all wants. YES, let 'Unity is Strength' be our slogan. Yet, we are still in bondaged.

My Wives Trouble Me

My Wives Trouble Me
- Mr. Khaalnou

Life in city is haste and expensive. Every one is busy….The moment you cross the door, you are likely to open your wallet. A single coin could travel you a mile. Though different nomenclature fences us in our home, this might not be possible. Here, people called us 'Bahadur' or 'Chinky'. Our face, skin and colour were totally different from Delhities, Gurgaonites, Noidians and so on. It's really unfortunate that, we, the north-east usually faced sexual assaults, harassments, molestations, rapes and all kinds of hatreds. This makes life insecure in the capital and its neighbouring cities. There's one thing worth to remember 'Unity in Diversity'. Alas! The aged old enemy of Pupu Gandhiji - 'Discrimination' is still alive. There are good and bad everywhere.

Uncountable questions stricken me. The world seems a bed of roses for those splendid lives. Full of thorns for those who struggles. Choices are wide. Few have self -principles and guts. Yet, some of our guys seek advantages. Our innocent girls were the most vulnerable targets everywhere. Many girls had fallen in traps laid by earthly pleasures and short lived romantics. No one could rescue them out of the pitfalls. Life is a mixture of sweets and sours. Makes my mind, a home of five wives and one husband. My wives fumed smokes of doubts at my home. What, When, Where, Who, Which and How were the restless symbols that wrapped my life.

The art of living is really a life. Once our sweet home, is no longer a destiny land. Sorrows, grieves and angers - sparks every dawn and dusk. The 'Land of Jewels' is replacing by the 'land of bomb blasts and merciless bullets'. Every nook and corner became the battlefield of unknown UG's and well-known Arm Forces. The home trained dogs namely, the State Police, City Police and Police Commandos- hunts for the native youths and the youthful. Besides, the tall Military Personnels were the deadliest rappers of women. Chances are high during operations or curfews imposed publicly. Be careful! If you are thin, you will be suspected. If you are fat, you will be suspected. Don't wear Jeans or Leather Jackets, nor wore helmet - you might rubbed the prison's wall after severe blows on your buttuck or thigh. Jobless educated youths worry day after day. Posts like Peon, Chowkidar, or Sweeper class have thousand piles of application. Corruptions, bribes and canvassing had occupied all the unseen back doors. The petty clerks and PA's are the real boss in any office. To meet Big Boss, make sure to pay 'Chathaknaba'. This is a magical word: the better you use, the more you gain. In the land of 'Sanaleipak', the rich rise up while the poor starves to death. 'Survival of the fittest' is aptly meant for the poor only. A revolutionary soldier to some extent is supportive unless the bullets are miss-used. To die for a noble cause might be far better than starving and facing armies' cruel hand. Is dead, for the youth?

Today, youths had flown far and beyond in search of job and wisdom. In this fast changing world, the world revolves around Privatisation and Outsourcing -which is the buzzword of all livings on earth. The populace of the northeast in Delhi and her neighbouring cities is increasing rapidly. These cities gave ample jobs to our brothers and sisters. Attractive Ads and lucrative jobs hooked them in many ways. With the passages of time, moral characters are fading away gradually. Parents at home became a mere listener to the distant words and tunes of their beloved children. The undying love of our parents should not be forgotten at all. Some parents hesitate to advice them. Money speaks louder! Taking as an advantage, many of us have fooled our parents and relatives. There are some who lavishly spends money; some are crazy after, some had gone astray. And some had fallen into life of darkness and sins.

The north-east people have so many hidden talents. Don't you believe? Explore the city - Shopping malls, Showrooms, Restaurants, Bars, Hotels, Call Centers, Out-door Clinics, Hospitals, etc, you would find a northeast guy or a lady. You would be pleased to see them dealing with their customers politely. The more they sell the better incentives at the end. Talents are gifted assets, which none could destroy nor stolen away. Exploring the business arena and developing it, is what we really need today. Hunting job is quite easier than before, as not in home state. Imagine, if you are at home, you might be null. Being here in the city, you render noble service to the family. Above all you gain much more. A single penny is worth saving! Keep safe your Cash Card!

One bitter experienced…After a weeklong office work, my boss called me in his personal AC room. “Hai Mr…! It's nice to meet you! I hope you enjoy the work. Right?” he smiles at me. “Yes, Sir” was my responds nervously. “Its nothing… but, I just wanna make you feel comfortable” he added. That was one Friday evening last summer. Then, he gave me a cup of coffee and a cake. He enquired about my home, family background and my personal life. We shared our moments lively. He was so friendly; my little shyness had gone. At the last moment when just about to bid bye, he whispered into my ears, “Truly, could you search for me, a Chinky girl for my girlfriend?” I asked him quickly, “What's Sir?” “So tight so cheap!” he screamed in a lively mood. I stood puzzled! And he then bid me bye with an eye-kiss. I asked myself, 'What does Chinky means?' This echoes in my ears and troubles me so long.

Another day, our Team Mates when for outing in the city. And we watched a movie 'Om Shanti Om' in the evening. During the play, two of my friends discussed about their girl friends. They usually visited their girl friends and lodged the night until Sunday dusk. Every thing is free within the four corners! Sometimes, they return back on Monday morning. “Buy a beer you will get a Chinky Girl”, they said. “So cheap so tight!”- was their slogans. It was unbelievable at first, but after their nude photos and their dirty movie clips seen through the handy mobile. “A picture tells a thousand words” flashes into my mind. If all the hearsay is to ink down here, it would be too horrible! Imagine, their GF's, both were from our own land, as how they looks. Dresses might also genuinely impress others. Some of our girls were infatuated with the city guys. It wasn't their religion that we bothered. We are afraid; our sisters might be left abandoned some day. Is there any one, who wants to be the left-over life? Having fun is okay, let's say. Why not, tie-knots with your lover if you really love for a life long? There are churches and temples nearby. No man would object nor react against your marriage. Why not marry legally or in other secure ways? The looser would be you, particularly and your family, in general. Such dirty affairs defiant our religion and our society at large.

Now a days, the practiced of 'Room Mate' or 'Living Together' - is the common debatable capsule in the family, church and society. The other one is 'Visitor or Guest' - a boy visits his GF and vice-versa. This type of visiting is the frequent syndrome found in the metro city life. Many families had taken as unpleasant aura because the pros and cons will flame one day. Some were facing off in this case. This had alarmed the parents at the beginning, but “It's so simple” they says later. When the after effect rises up, they blame some one, not themselves. None dares to justify, why? RM and LT became an eye opener for the blind freshers. Anyway, one should think well before. Maybe, the duo is helpful to each other. In times of sick or problems, one could easily look after the other, and vice-versa. The adorable cares and loyal relationships of duo-mate is quite encouraging to others. A taste of life! Every thing is being taught there… someone's joke! But, if and only if wedding bell rings, one plus one equals, right? Before that, nay!!

The past days had shown unfavorable discussions in our social groups. Opinions have came to be less defective than they once were. By forcing: the Self-Style ladies, Call Girls, Love Birds (eimi girls-non eimi boys), Loose Girls, Free Boys (lazy students), Drug Addicts and the Drunken Masters (alcoholic boys) - on morale ethics is really a bottleneck task. Striking them with by-laws or by stern warnings may not be the best revamped. Doubts are clearer when some of our guys' red-handed six north-east girls last winter. A heated argument smoked the room where they were interrogated rigorously. Their confessions had drawn out the truth and the ugly at last. The tall and beautiful lady remarked, “I just want to attend the night clubs with my friends. I never involved in flesh trade. They were my friends only. I'm just only fond of partying, dancing and drinking beers”. The other girl, who is also a college graduate and the most influential outlook among them; with much reluctantly uttered, “It's only the easy money. I got a deal of Rs. 8000 for two nights. The less I have money, the more I sad often. My father is dead, and I have four young brothers and two young sisters at home with my old mother.” The youngest lady remarked, “I don't have any idea how I came to contact with them. I followed my friends' footsteps”. The rest do not share their opinion. Some times, the value of money can be mistaken. However, money should not fool us. Yet, there were still many in the cities. This is the high profile game, top-most secrets played by some of our n-e girls in the city. It is not easy to identify and trace out, since beyond our imaginations. To deal with them is such another tough game.

There were numerous shocking incidents in the capital as well as in the adjoining cities. Two girls had hanged to death because their lover had left; another married woman with her children left abandoned in an overseas country. This appeared in the news few months back. The miserable tales of our north-east sisters had no full stop at all. Some of our eimi boys had also beaten the Landlord into black and blue just for a minor cause. Most recently, two sisters came from Chandigarh who rented a room was mercilessly beaten up by their landlord at around 3 O' Clock in the morning. Just three nights passed. Their landlord had knocked their door which was unattended since odd hours. Suddenly, the window panes were smashes down by the landlord. When they arose, the landlord started his actions. The two girls got collapsed unconscious. Hearing the incident, the eimi samaritan guys rushed to the site, and brought those two sisters to a nearby hospital. The landlord confidently argued that, “I was knocking the door to ask for the rent fee.” Is this justifiable? Soon the eimi samaritans lodged a complaint of an FIR in nearby Police Station with much difficulty within the day. Still, some n-e girls had been seen lying drunk inside a maruti van parked by a roadside at mid-night hours. Inspite of all these, one eimi single lady had thrown a big party on her birthday leaving behind all those eimi friends and well wishers. Unluckily she was assaulted by her own friends on her birthday. Her birthday turns to a badday! Another young lady dark and tall, yet looks beauty, broke her secrets of her biological clock. The story goes: Her lover abandoned her soon after she conceived a baby. She also confessed that three abortions had been done earlier. This was the pregnant girl's stand point against the run away father. On the other side, the boy (non eimi) boldly defended himself tooth and nail. He even sorted out some names of eimis and non-eimis who were also responsible in making the unwanted baby. Not only this, he stood boldly for DNA Test or Lab Test or any other Test to identify the real father. The young girl stood ashamed before her country men - eimi guys - at the meeting. There occurred a long heated argument between the opposers and the movers. The boy was accused of guilty for being the last invader in accordance with our tribal customary laws. Thus by force he was called to be the child's father. The same thing happens recently, yet, the boy belongs to eimi. What has to be done? The pregnant girl is a Christian from Orissa, where the Christians were tortured, burnt, raped and killed mercilessly like animals by the fanatic Hindus. In Zohills, the Christians killed the Christians! Forgiveness has no place in our heartland. However, the lawless state government makes unnecessary excuses! Many a thousand of Christians, by faith, lived homeless now. Such was her home town. The lover disappeared mysteriously from the girl. The helpless girl was thrown out of her family since then. Now she approached the eimi leaders to nap the prodigal father. She, sometimes, thought of suicide as no option left. She was debarred from her job, since her bulky belly. She is definitely alone. Her sufferings had shown a light of new thoughts. Boys are tough; while girls are soft often. Their beauty charms the male folk. Once the life of a girl is spoil, the rest is full of despairs and agonies - whether known or unknown. Boys usually doesn't care girls after unwanted happens. Boy's often shifted their heart's office. The pain pierced much when it falls on us! Men folk have forgotten the deep meaning of a 'woman'. Don't take woman as a 'World of Man'; otherwise, it could be a hell for you. Charmed by face or figure; by fairness or darkness might not last long. Beauty depends on the eye holder. The loves, cares, selfless sacrifices in romantic days might also have double lines behind. Boy's promises and girl's listen, too. Girl's faith rest on boy's word while boy's faith rest on her sacrifice. Who lose, who gain? Girls many a time, by faith, had fallen under Boy's chest. And boys were fooled by girl's net. Temptations began since Eden. If not, there would be no 'Dead'. How nice it would be? Some people want to test life or everything and pick up the best. Today no one doubts the sanctity of 'Virginity'. How many had protected the fertile land? Many have lost the princely kingdoms to aliens. If 'V-Test' is mandatory for marriage, how many would be marked below? If you kiss or…. some one, what will happen? Or how could you? There's one and only one condition apply, both must 'YES'. If not, you will be stoned or hanged separately. The truth of love is often misused knowingly. Yet, marriage is soically solemnised by the Priests! The most often cited on wedding day is 'Marriage is made in heaven' and 'Let no one break the cord, which God binds'. Is this 'applaudable' or a 'forbidden' word? Who knows, some cords might have been already bitten off by an alien once upon a time! The version of our Bible might be Devil's Handbook or Lucifer's Dairy.

The incalculable damage done to any one by a clever invader and indiscriminate blood pollution is indescribable, indefensible, and unforgivable. Hey Boys! Hey Girls! It's not an attack. It's all about the heart beats of the eimi samaritan guys who care you much behind your shadow. The silent rhymes are hunted for reasons of sound! Our diehard thoughts bombarded us with a couple of breathes. The eimi boys should not turn blind and deaf while the wolves surround eimi girls.

On my way to office one day, I heard a beggar singing to himself, “Bhukhe Pet Na Bhajan Gopela”. I asked my friends to translate it. The meaning was, “The worship of God is of no use to a man with an empty stomach”. “Is it true?” I quarreled myself. The beggar's emaciated body and outstretched arm with a bowl were a symbol of the millions of poor people for whom food is more important than God. Then it seems partially true, indeed. It's a bold step; one has to struggle for one's belly. No bread ever falls. The sweat that one pays has brought the ripest fruits. Thus 'Work is Worship' as long as we live on earth. Remember God, do good!

In near future, 'Send Back Home' might be the ideal way to tackle the problems created by those who set dark images to his or her own our community. However, send back home policy is still a frightening one. It would cause tensions and gets whole families into a periodic flap of one's income. Parents and relatives might be ashamed. Should this type of problems be brought to the surface? Or hide as possible? Or any better idea? Who will be happy to hear unexpected ugly words of beloved sons and daughters? The need for personal reforms should be the debated issue now.

How wide awake! As the day pass by.

KV Poetry

KV Poetry: “ ISLAND ”
- Mr. Ajay Thangkhal, Gurgaon

Alone, I sat on the sea shore
Waiting the warm breeze to blow,
Cry, my heart was!
Comrades had gone far away
Why wandered, am I?
Alone in this empty island,
In the sky above;
Let shine for the dark world,
O, hide me!
For our fate doesn’t meet here.

“ LOVE IS LIKE A MUSIC ”
- Mr. L.J., Munirka

Dear your love is like music in my heart,
You are so sweet and awesome
Every moment you are in my heart
You flow silently in my heart
Your voice touch my heart
That makes me so divine
Your sweet melodies make my life pious.
Every node fills my heart with bliss
Every rhythm gave me
The meaning of life
Your love is universal truth.
That will always remains in my heart
Without you I may not able
To live in this world
Because my love for you is external love
Without you my life is colourless
It’s you who make my life colourful
Dear please don’t walk away from me.
